Chapter 36: Chapter 36

I’m not gonna let that happen anymore. Never again.

“You’re lying, Kane. If anyone I already know would be my mate, then it would be Jake.” I said through the door, and a loud bang came from it. The sound seemed to have come from Kane banging his hand on the door. That wouldn’t scare me either.

“Whatever, but I promise you that I’ll have you leave your lover and come crawling back into my arms!” He yelled through the door and then silence followed.

I waited for a bit and then the door bell rang again. I furrowed my brows as I felt more angry at him, "Kane, will you just lea-"

Jake's soothing voice cut me off, "It's not Kane. It's Jake."

I opened the door and Jake was standing there with a concerned expression. I stepped aside and he strode to me as he cupped my face with both hands as he looked me over. "Max, are you okay? Did Kane hurt you?"

I shook my head as I gave him a reassuring smile, "No, I closed the door as soon as I saw that it was him."

He let out a sigh of relief and wrapped his arms around me. "Thank God. I thought that I was too late when I saw him grinning as he walked away from the front door."

"He was just trying to get to you." I said as I also sighed, resting my head on his shoulder.

"I knew that he would come back, but the thing is, what if comes back again? What if I can't protect you then?"

I leaned back as I looked into his eyes, "Don't worry, Jake. I will be fine."

His eyes bounced between mine and I could see the worry evident in his eyes. "No, Max. You're not safe here. Come home with me so that I can protect you whenever and we'll come here only when we want to hang out as a gang."

I felt concerned at request because well the neighbors were keeping an eye on me for my dad and I couldn't just invade Jake's privacy or live with a guy. I shook my head as I started protesting, "Jake-"

But he cut me off as the worry in his eyes increased, "Please, Max. Just think about it."

I sighed and nodded, "Alright."

He unwrapped his arms from around me and stepped back. I ran one hand through my hair as I looked at him, I was going to ask what we would do before Greg and Greg showed up, but we heard the door bell ring. A look passed between us as we anticipated who was behind the door.

Jake turned around and opened the door. Greg and Grey stood in the doorway, sporting large grins. They ambled in as they looked at both of us, "Hey, guys!"

They were both wearing dark jeans, but Greg had on a white top while Greg had a blue top. Jake closed the door as he smiled back at them, "Hey, hope you two are ready to wolf out!"

They chuckled, and Greg answered, "We sure are!"

"Sup, guys?" I asked as I also smiled at them.

"Being the next teen wolves, that's what's up!" Grey exclaimed, looking excited as he started howling. Greg joined him and howled.

I chuckled as I watched them, and Jake laughed. His eyes caught mine as we looked at each other before I tore my gaze away from him and turned them to the now calm twins. "You guys sure seem so excited unlike the rest of us that were turned unwillingly and expectedly."

"Max, of course, we will be excited. Acquiring super powers is awesome!" Greg exclaimed then raised his hand to Grey who slapped his hand in a high five, adding, "Awesome!"

I chuckled again and Jake walked to where I was standing as he stood beside me, facing the twins. "Okay, enough fooling around you two. Let's turn you into werewolves."

"Yeah!" They both exclaimed, looking too excited.

He turned to me, a smile touching his lips. "Are you ready, baby doll?"

I smirked as I turned to him,"Ready as I'll ever be, bad ass bad boy."

His lips stretched wider as he said, "Okay, command your wolf to come out."

"Okay." I breathed out then closed my eyes as I saw him do. I thought of my wolf and the night I turned then ordered it to come forth.

As I opened my eyes, I felt hotter and looked down at my hands to see that they were now paws. I glanced at Jake and saw that he has also turned into his wolf. Jake stepped closer to me and slipped his long tongue out to lick my snout. He nuzzled his snout to mine and I nuzzled his back.

He pulled back and faced the twins. I also turned to them to see them looking shocked with pale faces as they stared at us. We both stepped forward together and the twins looked scared, but stood their ground. I ordered my wolf to change them and in a second, I was biting one of the twin's neck.

I pulled back and climbed off of him as I saw Jake also finish biting the other twin as he stood beside him. I commanded my wolf to back and for my human self to come forth and in a second, I was human again. I glanced over at Jake to see him in the process of changing back into human form. His paws changed into hands and legs as his snout changed into a nose, and the fur on his skin disappeared.

It was amazing any time that I watched a werewolf transfer. I smiled to myself and glanced at the two guys lying on the ground. They were both clutching their necks as they groaned in pain. Greg looked at us, "God! You didn't warn us that it will be as painful as hell."
