Chapter 28: Chapter 28

We, along with everyone, turned to her, giving our attention to her. Even Poppy and her boy toy stopped making out to hear what she had to say.

"Why don't we all play a game of Never Have I Ever? What do you guys say?" Stephanie asked, loudly in her scratchy voice.

The people around us started cheering and shouting 'yes' in agreement with her. Stephanie smiled, "Good, now let's make a circle and start!"

Everyone gathered around in the middle of the living room. The ones that were standing came and sat on the floor in a circle while the rest of us that were on the couch stayed there. Stephanie walked back to her seat on the arm of our couch, right beside Jake. Cindy didn’t come out from under the staircase, and Poppy also didn’t leave her seat on the guy’s lap. Abbey was sitting in front of Cassie’s chair on the beige carpeted floor.

Alex and Sean were sitting beside each other in front of our couch with the girls that they were flirting with while Mike was still absent. He was probably getting laid in another room. I shook my head because I knew that he was very capable of doing that and probably why he came to the party.

“Let’s get some drinks before we start!” Stephanie said then glanced at Abbey with a knowing look, “The drinks, Abbey.”

“Oh, yeah. I’ll get them.” Abbey stood up from her seat and glanced at two other girls beside her; one with blonde hair and the other with black hair. I recognized them as the bimbos’ lackeys that followed them around and did whatever they wanted. Sometimes they do their homework, do chores at home, walk their dogs, etc. They worshipped the ground they walked on and worked hard to please them, but they all treated them like dirt, especially Stephanie. And there were more of them.

Abbey and the two girls walked out of the living room and in the direction of the kitchen I assumed. Stephanie gave a large smile as she looked at us, “So I’ll start. Whoever doesn’t answer has to do a dare.”

People whooped and cheered in agreement along with Sean. “Never Have I Ever had the hots for a classmate.”

“Never.” Almost everyone along with me answered. Jake glanced at me with a smirk, “You know I have.”

Everyone turned their attention to me when they heard him say that to me since that let everyone know that the hots were for me. Despite being the bad girl of the school, I felt my cheeks blush and I was glad that my skin was caramel colored. Jake was still staring at me, but I averted my gaze from him. I could hear people whispering, and were saying that they thought that we were already dating.

We heard someone clear their throat, and I turned to the direction as well as everyone to see Stephanie looking annoyed, but quickly smiled when she saw everyone looking at her. “I have.” She glanced at Jake as she said, “I guess us that have, got to stick together, right?”

Everyone including me turned to Jake to hear his response. He looked over at everyone as he said, “Never have I ever wanted to make out with a friend.” He turned and looked at me with a smile playing on his lips, “I have.”

I glanced over at Stephanie to see her looking angry and irritated as she scowled since he ignored her and gave his attention to me in front of everyone. That was the ultimate rejection. He wasn’t into her, she should get that through her head. I looked back at Jake with my cheeks becoming hotter.

He was basically saying that he wanted to make out with me. I have never thought of it before, but now that he had mentioned it, I glanced at his plump, red lips. They looked very inviting and I felt the urge to kiss him. I quickly looked away, but I could feel his hot gaze on me, and I knew that he saw me staring at his lips.

Many ‘Never’ were heard while some said ‘I have’ including Sean. Stephanie said, “I have.”

“Your turn, baby doll.” I heard Jake say to me and I turned to him just as Abbey and their lackeys walked back into the living room, holding trays. But Abbey was holding only two drinks in her hands. The lackeys started passing the drinks around while she walked towards us.

“Never have I gotten drunk at a party before.” I said just as Abbey reached us. She stretched out the two red cups towards Jake and I. We collected it, and I looked at the contents of my cup, thinking that it might be alcohol. But surprise, surprise, it was soda; sprite to be precise.

I was very shocked and was sure that it showed on my face. Almost everyone shouted, ‘I have’, Stephanie said as she glanced at me before looking at the crowd, “If anyone wants alcohol, they can go and get it from the drinks table in the hallway before the living room.”

“Yeah!” Some shouted while someone shouted, “That’s what I’m talking about!”

I laughed at his comment as I sipped my drink, and I heard Jake say, “What’s your answer?”

I turned to him and said, “Never. I don’t drink.”

He looked surprised, but impressed as he lifted his cup to his lips and took a sip of soda. “Wow! A bad girl that doesn’t drink. Now, I’m even more intrigued.”

I laughed and took a gulp of my drink, “Yes, drinking leads to several diseases, and news flash; I don’t wanna die early.”

Jake chuckled as he also gulped down his drink. “You’re right, and I’m gonna learn from you, nerdy bad girl.”

“Only you can get away with calling me that.” He smiled, and I smiled back as we stared at each other.

A throat cleared and we both turned to the noise to see Stephanie, holding her own drink with an annoyed expression. “Uh, the game is still going on.”

She said it in an obvious way like we had to know that and pay attention. We both ignored her and turned back to everyone. That was when I noticed that it was already Drake’s turn and Jane had finished her turn. Drake looked over at everyone, still holding Jane as he said, “Never have I cheated on my partner.”

Everyone said, ‘Never’. Of course, who would expose themselves if they were cheating or have cheated? I saw Abbey giving Stephanie a look and I looked to Stephanie to see her mouthing something to her. Stephanie stood up from the arm of the couch and walked to Abbey. She whispered to her then walked back to her seat and sat down.

Abbey walked to the girls still passing the drinks around since we were many and took out two cups. She walked out with them and in less than a minute, came back in with them. I realized that she was walking towards us and she stopped when she reached us then stretched out the drinks to us. I glanced at Jake and saw him take the one she handed to him, and I turned back to Abbey. I took the one that she was handing out to me, but didn’t drink it.

I glanced at Jake to see him gulping his own drink down while I gripped the red cup in my hand. I turned back to the crowd as it became some guy with brown hair's turn. He looked over at everyone as he said, “Never have I ever had sex before.”

Many people said, ‘I have’, but Jake and I didn’t answer. Stephanie noticed that and said, “Max, you didn’t answer. Answer or take a dare.”

I glanced at her to see a smug look on her face and as I was about to answer, I heard Jake say, “I didn’t answer either.”

I, along with everyone, turned to him. Stephanie batted her eyelashes and smiled as she looked at him, “Everyone already knows that you have, Jake.”

She looked at him from head to toe as if imagining him doing that. She didn’t even care that she was acting like a thirsty slut while everyone watched on. But she was right. I have heard from Anna how everyone has heard about how great he was in bed and that was also why so many girls wanted to be with him.

Stephanie has warned them off him that he was hers, but Cassie didn’t listen. I have no idea why she even invited her when they weren’t the best of friends. She glanced at me, “If you can’t answer then you have to make out with Poppy’s boy toy over there.”

I glanced over at Poppy and her boy toy to see her having a frown on her face while he had a grin on his lips as he leered at me while she was still on his lap. I looked back at Stephanie, “Yeah, no thanks.”

Jake looked relieved when he heard me say that, but Stephanie was a different case. She looked at me with an irritated look, “You have to or else you answer.”

I clenched my teeth to prevent my wolf from getting angry since I knew that she wanted me to say something personal I wasn’t willing to share or to kiss someone so that she would come between Jake and I. Before I could answer, Jake said, “You heard her, Stephanie. She said that she won’t do it, and you can’t force her.”

Stephanie huffed as she rolled her eyes, looking annoyed, “Fine, but you’re ruining the game’s vibes, Max.”

“Keeping my life personal is more important.” I retorted, and she rolled her eyes again, muttering, “Whatever.”

That was her acting like a brat, but she wasn’t acting. She was a brat. And even though she muttered, I still heard her and that meant Jake did too since he was closer to her. Shane said, “Never have I ever ran someone over.”

Most of us including me and Jake said, ‘Never’, but Stephanie and Poppy said, ‘I have.’

I felt an arm snake around me and I realized that it was Jake. I looked over at him to see him staring at me as he pulled me close. I didn’t know why he suddenly did that, but I let him be since I was probably going to say yes to him.

I looked back at everyone as Sean said, “Never have I ever done the dirty in school.”

Almost everyone said ‘Never’, but Poppy and three other guys with the girl sitting beside Cassie said, “I have.”

People started muttering in surprise while Stephanie exclaimed, “Wow, Poppy. I want all the deets on this.”

I glanced at the clear liquid inside the cup that I was still gripping and decided that was the time for me to change it for one that I got myself. I placed my empty hand on Jake’s arm around me and looked at him. I saw that he was already looking at me with his eyes eating me up.

I don’t think that he had ever openly stared at me like that and I wondered why. “Hey, I’ll be going to the kitchen to get another drink.”

“Okay, come back soon.” He said as he took his arm from around my waist.

I smiled, “Don’t miss me too much.”

He smiled back at me, “I'll try not to.”

I stood up from the couch and made my way out of the living room and went left which was where I saw Abbey and those girls get their drink from. I was right, it was the kitchen. I noticed as I entered through the open door. It was larger than our kitchen and had fancier equipment like fridge, blender, oven, etc, and they were all silver colored.

I walked over to the silver counter and placed my cup on it. As I was about to walk to the fridge when I saw Jake enter the kitchen. I was surprised as I started, “Jake, what are you doing here?”

He reached me and looked at me with need as he said, “I can’t stop myself anymore, Max.”

Before I could ask what he meant, he gripped my waist and smashed his lips on mine.
