Chapter 105: Chapter 105
"That means that he's going to keep coming after you until either he gets you or we defeat him. So as one pack, we have to fight him and make sure that we win." Alpha Young said, still looking worried as he looked between Jake and I.
Jake's lips tugged up in a small smile, "We appreciate your help and will make sure to win."
"Thank you, Alpha Young." I added as a smile touched my lips.
"Oh no, I am Young to you. No need for formalities when we're both Alphas, and both of you don't need to thank me, we're one now." Alpha Young protested with a friendly smile.
After leaving Alpha Young's mansion, Jake and I got into our car to head home. Our friends have said their good byes to us and got into their cars to head home as well. Jake was currently driving as I pulled out my phone from my jeans pocket. I swiped the screen and clicked on the contacts app.
As it opened up, I looked for Tanner's name and clicked on it. I placed the phone on speaker as I glanced over at Jake who was silently stealing glances at me. "I'm calling Tanner to hear about Drake."
"Drake's far gone, but I would like to hear about him too since you want to." He replied, looking softly, but his deep voice still vibrated as he looked over at me briefly before looking back at the road in front of us.
"Yeah, there's probably something wrong." I replied as the phone started ringing.
Tanner picked up almost immediately, "Hi, Max."
"Hey, so about Drake, do you know if it's something that's wrong with him or he's just evil now?" I asked, feeling worried about Drake as I thought back to how he acted the other day.
"I would like to say that it's something wrong with him and that it's the love sickness for when something gets between mates. But Drake and Jane aren't mates. So it can't be."
I let out a sigh, and Jake asked through the speaker, "Then why did he suddenly change? He wasn't like that before until now that he turned into a werewolf."
"Oh, hi, Jake. Guess I'm on speaker?"
"Hey, yeah, we need to know how to deal with this." Jake replied as he kept driving. His hands gripped the steering wheel while the muscles in his arms contracted. He had taken off his leather jacket when we entered the car so I can see his tattooed, muscular arms straining against his white shirt.
Mmm, it was such a beautiful site. The contraction of his muscles distracted me a bit until Tanner's voice brought me back to reality. "Drake changed because as werewolves, we can't always control ourselves or feelings. So he let his jealousy and anger get the better of him."
"It's like you're an enclopedia for werewolves, and this means that he's already gone." I commented as I realized that Drake would never change back to his old self unless he let go of those two damaging emotions. Jealousy and Anger.
"I'm sorry, but yes. He's also gonna get himself killed with how bent on making you all pay he is."
Jake glanced at the phone before looking back at the road, "You've got that right. We're not letting him get away with hurting us, ex pack member or not. He's not the friend that we knew."
I looked up from the phone to him, "Yeah, you're right. If he's going to come for us then let it be."
"I'm really sorry to all of you that things turned out this way." Tanner apologized, sounding sympathetic.
"It's fine." I replied, and Jake added, "Has he told Kane that you're helping us?"
"Not yet, but I'm planning on leaving and coming to your pack anyway if you can accept me."
I felt my lips widen into a smile, "Yes! Of course, we'll accept you. But what about what you said about it being your parent's pack?"
"It's not the same pack anymore. Not with Kane running it and now, Hades."
"We're sorry that your pack is lost, Tanner, and we're very happy to have you as our new pack member." Jake said as he parked the car and turned the engine off.
I looked out the window to see that we've already returned to his house which was now my new home. I turned my attention back to my phone as I heard Tanner say, "Thank you, Jake and you too, Max. I really appreciate you two accepting me."
"It's no problem, just let us know when you're ready to come over." I replied to him as I watch Jake open his door as his heated gaze bored into mine. I felt butterflies flutter in my tummy.
