Chapter 32: Chapter 32

My encounter with James made qualms but it also gave me more strength and courage to face what was coming. So I stopped lamenting and put my self into work.

I learn something in those few hours and to that, I was a fast learner so it wasn't that too hard for me to assimilate a lot in a little time.

30 minutes to the meeting a left the library to my boss's office to go through the contract for the last time before the gathering.

A few minutes later, a group of there men and two women entered our building. They were redirected to the conference hall by the receptionist. The hall was one flow above me.

{Sectary calling}

.

.

"Madam, the receptionist is here".

She said.

"Let him enter."

I answered

"Madam, they are waiting for you at the hall already!."

the receptionist said and left.

"Thank!."

I began to shiver.

I picked up all the required documents and left.

When I entered the hall, I became more nervous. They had all face twisted and that hindered me, to even offer a word, but I had to smile back at them and greet them. "Good morning, I am Grace and I am representing the CEO due to his absence. With his secretary here beside me."

I greeted them.

"Why would he send us an experienced staff or what so ever!. This is disrespectful If his!."

They said.

"Miss. Loretta, let's leave. They aren't taking us greatly. I can't stand this incompetence for one more second."

They said.

"I am sorry things had to happen this way, but the CEO when for our annual meeting at our headquarter."

I explained.

"Whatever!."

They answered and they began to leave.

Then I woke up from my chair and slightly raised my voice.

"If we aren't given the chance to embark because we are inexperienced, how are we going to get the experience Cece then?!. All I am trying to say is that we should be open-minded and give the possibility to everyone to grow and get the so-called "experience". Permit me, sir, you didn't get up one morning and learned everything you know now. It's due to the time that you all acquire knowledge and this because, at some point, you were given a chance as I am asking for mine to be respected right now. We learn every day. So please, giving me a try."

I explained hoping to hold them back.

They stopped an stood beside the door and looked at each other, then they whispered in each other's ears.

"Well done, Madam!."

The secretary bent towards me and whispered in my ears.

"Thank you!."

I said and I held her hands tightly to kill the anguish.

"Okay, we have heard you and what you are asking for is reasonable. But... you have to be brief. State the facts and make sure you convince us because presently we are having some doubts."

They said

"Okay, sir..."

Then I began.

I spoke about the risk and what they had to gain by investing with us.

They were looking so convinced and astonished by my way of talking. I was talking so fast and I really said much in a very few people of the time.

"Sir the decision is left over to you!."

I said after explaining everything.

The began to whisper in each other's ears again.

"Wow, I think they will sign these papers today!."

Secretary whispered.

"Wow, we are really stunned by your rapidity. In less than an, we have gone through this contract of 100pages and more to that you said other things. That was impressive. You are outstanding but we are sorry to inform you that we aren't going to sign these papers today. You highlighted many facts we hadn't really take time to analyze. Sorry for the inconvenience but we need more time."

They said.

They all pitied me.

I saw my reputation fling throw the window. All I could hear was "You are a loser!."

I tried to insist but they had made their decision already.

"Also, if you need work, we will be happy to receive you with a good salary though. We have to leave now!."

They said again and they left.

I got so depressed. I was really sure of myself.

"Don't feel bad, you were really good. It's like they didn't want to invest."

The secretary said.

I knew people will laugh at my back.

I left for my office.

The news spread like wildfire.

I couldn't leave my office. I saw the joy on their face.
