"Ba inda zaka(you're going no where). What is the essence of marrying me, always going out to do God knows what" Mairo said

"Am I the one that marry you or what?" He asked

"I don't care, but as long as am in this house you're going no where. Haba(why) since they brought me to this house you have not spend upto one hour with me always going out, telling me rubbish that's you're looking for what we will eat. I don't want to eat again let stay in this house together"

"Mairo Ashe Baki da hankali( Mairo so you don't have sense). When I wanted to marry you I was told you're calm and respectful"

"Kai Umaru, don't you dare tell me rubbish. You and who is calm. Let me tell you I was pretending because I have no one to marry me that's why I pretended to have changed but am still thesame Mairo everyone knows" Mairo fired standing akimbo

"An cuce Ni walahi (they scam to God)"Umaru said

"That's your own business, but mark my words you're going no where today and if you see you go out of this house then I will cut you into pieces since you don't know what you're doing"

"You must be joking?"

"Try me and see. You think my name is Mairo for joke" she laughed" let me tell you no man tries me and go Scott free. So it's better you put some senses into that your empty skull or else you will see what am going to do to you"

"Am I the one you're saying this rubbish to, you know I can just divorced you instantly"

"Not even in your dream. Try it and see. Let me tell you one thing you don't know even if you divorced me, am not going anywhere. This house have come to stay till eternity. Who knows maybe you will die and leave everything for me" Mairo said smirking

"Is it me you're saying all this rubbish too?" Umaru said showing himself to her

"Is there any other person here apart from me and you?" Mairo fired back. Umaru slapped her "did you just slapped me?" Mairo asked flabbergasted

"Yes, and if you say anything again I will beat you black and blue"

"We shall see" Mairo said and before Umaru knows she carry the pistol and hit him on the head which he shouted "that's what you get when you raised your hand to slap me. Not even my father will dare slap me, you good for nothing man. You will die here because no one will treat you. Am going out because I have things to do" and Mairo dropped the pistol before she went out leaving Umaru all alone with blood

Umaru dragged himself out to the nearest pharmacy to get himself treated because he knows even if he spent years shouting no one will come to his aid because he has no one to take pity on him. He quickly arrived at the chemist which the person in charge quickly went close to him "Ya Allah, how did you get injured?" Asked the pharmacist in charged seeing how blood is flowing from his head down to his neck

"Just treat me instantly, can't you see am loosing too much blood?" Umaru shouted

"Am sorry but we have protocols"

"Which stupid protocol is that, can't you see am loosing too much blood or you want me to die first?" Asked Umaru angrily

"Sorry let me get my things,but you have to give me a brief summary of what happened" The pharmacist said going to get his tools, not having any other option Umaru speaks

"My wife hit me with pistol. Guess you're happy now?"

"Am sorry it's part of my work to know how the patient get injured first before treatment, you know criminals are everywhere now"

"Just treat me before you will call me a criminal. Do I look like one" Umaru shouted, the pharmacist seeing that Umaru is troublesome used his cotton wool and dip it inside the spirit before he applied it on Umaru's head without any warning which made Umaru to shout "Innalillahi wa'innailaihir raji'un, I can see you want me to die, if not you could have warned me before applying that stupid thing on my head" Umaru shouted at the guy. Which he didn't say anything and continue with his work despite Umaru's rant and curses he did his work. Umaru was leaving without payment

"My money" the guy asked directly without being polite towards Umaru

"Which money? Or did you give me any?"

"Money for the treatment"

"Come and take, what did you do that warrant payment. Don't provoked me this afternoon"

"You must pay me before you leave or I called the police,choose" the pharmacist said blocking Umaru from passing,which he has no other option than to pay

"I can see you don't have respect, useless boy"

"Say whatever you like,as long as you have given me my money" Umaru left cursing the guy with any kind of cursed words that comes to his mouth, before he arrives home someone stopped him

"Alhaji Umaru" the person hail

"See I don't like hypocrisy, did you take me to Hajj to be calling me Alhaji? And what did you want?" He spat angrily

"Sorry. Was just passing by and decided to great you"

"Hypocrite, I know you have something to say if not you won't just come and great me like that. If it's money I don't have any to give you, so you better start going"

"No ooo, it's no money"

"Then what?" Umaru said getting irritated because his feeling a slight headache

"Hummm, was just passing through there Habiba's side" before the guy could continue Umaru interrupt him

"And what's your business with them?"

"I don't think you will like the news I have for you"

"Which news, is she dead or what?"

"No ooo, her daughter Tehzeeb is getting married, the walimat took place today. Am even coming back from there" before the man could continue Umaru slapped him

"You idiot, and your coming to inform me now, why didn't you come to inform since until they have finished everything. When is the time for the knot to be tied?"

"After Jumat prayer" the man answers covering his face because the slap Umaru gave him was still circulating in his body system

"You can go, I will give you money when next we meet" thus Umaru walked back home but immediately he entered the house he locked the door from inside so that Mairo will not be opportuned to entered "so after the warning Habiba went ahead to get that good for nothing daughter of hers married. We Shall see how the knot will be tied, since she thought am joking" Umaru said pacing in his room. Mairo was busy banging the door but Umaru was less bothered about her now so he didn't even move an inch to go and open the door for her

"Ya Bashir you're damned lucky to have Tehzeeb as your wife. Mashallah she's beautiful calm and respectful" Aish said smiling

"Thank you sis" Bashir said smiling

"I wished have known her from day one, I could have become her friend" Mamah said

"You can still be her friend, I don't think she will declined your offer"

"Are you serious?" Mamah asked hopefully

"Of course"

"Then it's done and seal.  She will become my new friend" mamah said happily forgotten she's married

"I don't know when you will grow up?" Amma said with smile on her face because she has fallen in love with Tehzeeb because of her calm nature, respect, and Mashallah she's beautiful.

Bashir was preparing to leave for the masjid when Pa walk into the parlour where Bashir was seating with his sister's and Amma "I want to see you all in my parlour" Pa said and walked past them, which they follow suit immediately

"Alhaji lafiya? (Alhaji hope all is well)" Amma asked immediately she set her foot into the parlour

"All is not well, this marriage will not hold and as I speak to you now it's cancel and that's my final decision" Pa said which made all of them to gasped in horror

"Innalillahi wa'innailaihir raji'un. What happened, why all of a sudden? And that on the day of the wedding? It's just some minutes for the knot to be tied fa" Amma said worriedly which Bashir and his sister's couldn't say anything

"That girl he want to marry have no father. Infact no one knows who her biological father is' Pa said which made Bashir to raised his blood shot eyes to look at his father

"Pa walahi that's a lie,anyone that said that to you is a lier, they're trying to ruin us, they're trying to ruin my wedding, they're trying to disgrace them" Bashir said shaking his head

"It's her uncle that came here yesterday night and told me everything"

"Pa believe me, I can't lie to you. I was his doctor before his demised, I know everything about them. Please trust me this once Pa" Bashir said crying like a lady

"Will you get a hold of yourself? What's wrong with you? If you don't marry her will that be the end of your life?" Pa shouted

"Pa I will die if I don't marry her" Bashir said crying with all his power

"Then die because my son can't marry someone who nobody knows about her father" Pa said. Mamah and Aisha were crying together with there brother because they pity him

"But Alhaji, how will you believe such a thing? You should have done some investigation. You can't just hear something from a person and take decision just like that. I beg you in the name of Allah to allow this wedding to take place"

"Woman don't try me, have made my decision and that's Final"

"What of the  visitors we invited?"

"Tell them there's no more wedding, shikenan (that's all). It's not the first time such thing is happening and it's won't end with us. Am off I have an important meeting to attend to" thus he left

"Amma please don't allow Pa to do this to me,I can't live without her" Bashir said crying

"Shhhh it's okay son. I can't go against your father's wish. I have no other power greater than his. You know him very well not to go back on his words" Amma said consoling Bashir tears in her eyes because she knows the love Bashir has for Tehzeeb is not small but who is she to go against her husband and what Allah have planned

Abban Khady was restless immediately Pa called him to cancel the wedding he was totally confused because he don't know what to do in this situation, he wished he had a son, but if wishes where horses then even the poor could have wished for it. Then an idea clicked in his brain and he takes his phone out to call Hajiya Kaltumi since he had her number when Umma told him about the things she did for Tehzeeb he collected her number and thank her

"Good" Hajiya Kaltumi said but before she could continue talking her phone rings which she received the call still standing in the room, but immediately she heard what the other person on the other side of the phone said, she looked at the girls in the room before she quickly left the room the girls following her with there glance because of the way she left hurriedly "Mallam what did you just said, I couldn't hear you very well" Hajiya Kaltumi asked again because she thought she didn't hear him very well which made her to increase the volume of her phone a little bit

"Hajiya I said there is a problem"

"Which problem Mallam. What happened?" Hajiya Kaltumi asked panicked because her heart rate was beating fastly

"Bashir father called me and told me the wedding have been cancelled"

"Innalillahi wa'innailaihir raji'un. Why, and what happened?"

"He did not tell me, that's what he told me and end the call"

"Am finished, but no problem they should continue with everything. I have two sons that's are ready for marriage, I will send you one of there names so that the marriage could take place" Hajiya Kaltumi said before she ends the call. Immediately Hajiya Kaltumi turned she saw Umma standing there with unshed tears in her eyes which means she heard everything  Umma was about to fall down when Hajiya Kaltumi quickly went to hold her
