Chapter 67: Chapter 67

I am back at work and it has been two days pass since the night Kelsie gotten sick. She still got sick the morning after and has been feeling drained since then but no more vomit since those two times. Kelsie has swore it is the eggrolls she made and threw them out the morning after she got sick again which is true that is one of the things she made I didn't eat as it is not really my taste.

We are busy with the time of year it is again and being not to long after the summer clothing line came out right at three weeks ago. The event had went very well and then we got the call for Talitha and I had honestly been trying to play catch up in this time since.

There is several new contracts which took up meetings right after we got Talitha. Now I have been swamped with the legal side to do on the computer to make sure there is enough supplies for the demand this line has.

Right now the workers are going through the extreme lists on each item that has the highest numbers needed first. I must say I think this is the best a line has ever done.

It is like there is a major good luck ball hanging over all of our heads since we have got Talitha. Even Kelsie's catering business got some more sponteous business to help them too without making them overwhelmed but will keep them busy for a good while.

Though, I don't take credit for the hard work that Laken put in to come out with this line. Mom has even putting out baby clothes for us to show off and we have which are hits too but we don't have infants modeling those during the event because it is just wrong. So those got hung in display boxes to view and that got us two extra contracts with baby stores.

Kelsie keeps saying we need to make some mens clothing. Laken thought it would be fun but we both agree to keep this to women with the expection of children. Just make this a womens and childrens clothing line only.

A knock on the door brings me out of the thoughts and the current email sitting in front of me with so many numbers my mind is having troubles wrapping around.

"Come in." I call out and see Laken step in.

"You never knock." I chuckle.

"True. Thought I would do something new. Felt weird though." Laken laughs and sits in the chair in front of the desk as normal.

"How are they doing in the sewing department? Do they need more fabrics?"

"Currently it looks like they have enough but if their supplies gets below twenty percent then they said they would put in an order paper to give you." Laken nods.

I nod. "Have you checked this email we both got on the total numbers as of current?"

"Oh yeah." Laken nods hard. "It is hard to believe a line took off like this. It is hard to be like is it because of the designs or was it is the delicious food they ate from the ladies."

I laugh because that has passed over my thoughts too. Happy stomach. Happy clients and potential clients.

We get to going over the numbers in detail and where to start sending things out to first. Then looking at the overseas buyers that will be needing things from the line, since theirs take longer to arrive to them.

A phone starts going off and it is my office phone so I ignore it. The both of us keep going over things before more rings come burst through our talking and this time it is both of our cells.

I pick mine up as Laken pulls his from his pocket.

"Val?" Laken answers.

'Mom?' I answer my phone.

'You need to come home. Kelsie is still out.'

'What do you mean still out? I thought they were cooking for a catering event tomorrow.'

'The ladies are while I am watching the kids. Kelsie had to make a store run not having enough of a couple of things. She left over an hour ago and has not returned. We have all tried calling her phone and it goes to voicemail. Kelvin and Naida are leaving now to go look for her while I watch the kids. Val is turning off the oven and stopping all the cooking but she is on the phone too.'

'I am on my way now.'

I hang up the phone and stand from my desk, grabbing the keys to my car from my pocket.

Laken is in step with me as he hung up with Valan. "Where do we go and start?"

"To the grocery store. I know the Kelvin will be driving slow checking the streets first." I reply to Laken as we run down the stairs since the elevator will take to much time.

I know that is what Kelvin will do because of who he is.

Right as we reach my car, my phone goes off again and it is a local number.

'Hello?' I rush out while trying to unlock my door.

'Mr. Scenix?'

'Speaking.'

'I am a doctor here at the Tapples Emergency room. Your wife was brought in from a car wreck that happened outside of the grocery a couple of miles away. The police stated she was t-boned while inside her vehicle while in the parking lot.'

'Is she okay?' My heart beats out of my chest and Laken has already taken the keys from my hand, pushed me into the passanger seat and gets in the driver seat pulling us out of the garage.

"Emergency room." I told Laken barely.

I catch his head turn to me and he puts the flashers on and turns the car around.

'Mrs. Scenix is in stable condition right now. I will explain the extent of injury once you arrive.' The doctor answers and then hangs up the line.

I call Mom back and tell her, she is going to stay with Talitha and Joseph for all of us. I put a call in to Kelvin and tell him what I know, he is going to tell Owen and Emily then join us at the hospital since my mom is watching their little boy too.

Laken gets us to the hosptial in record time and I don't wait for the car to stop before I step out. I run into the emergency room while Laken goes to park the car.

At the first desk I see, I quickly tell the nurse who I am and a doctor comes out. He shakes my hand then leads to where Kelsie is laying on the bed unconcious.

There is a few cuts and scrapes on the left side of her face. Then her leg is in a cast. Over all that is all I can tell from looking at her.

"Your wife has a fractured femur and then the lacterations to her face. She does have a concussion from where her head hit the glass and shattered it but there is no actual cuts from the glass, just a knot and bruising in this section." The doctor motions to the area on the left side of her head.

"Will she be okay?"

"We expect for her to wake up within a few hours." The doctor nods.

I walk over to her left side and sink down in a chair. My hand reaches out and takes her hand in mine.

"We will do some more tests when she wakes up. However, we expect both Mrs. Scenix and the baby will be just fine." The doctor had moved to the right side of the bed talking to me.

Baby!

"Baby!" My breathing stops and my heart literally falls right out of my ass or so I thought but it is just a fierce pounding in my chest.

"Yes, Mr. Scenix, Mrs. Scenix is currently nine weeks pregnant based off labs." The doctor's voice takes a soft tone and nods slowly.

My mouth opens and closes with no words coming out.

"I had thought you would be aware with how far along she is." The doctor studies me.

"No." I shake my head.

Clearing my throat. "She maybe has two periods a year, as she has a couple of reproductive issues. We had tried IVF a while back and had four failed cycles."

The doctor awes and nods. "This is a blessing then. I will come back to check on her shortly."

I am left in the room alone with Kelsie and I refuse to let her hand go. Right now, I just send a text to everyone that I know is in the waiting room that she is okay and everything the doctor told me but left out the pregnancy news as I want to tell Kelsie first.

Baby we are having a baby! Talitha will be a big sister.
