Chapter 8: Chapter 8

She watched at how he smiled and talked to her. It was so heartbreaking. She saw him for the first time when she had followed her parents to Jasper’s mom exhibition. Although she was not inside the hall. She was standing outside and chatting with some of her friends when she saw him. He looked so handsome and young and since then she had had a crush on him but it could be love. Right?

When she heard about the school he was attending, she was quick to make her dad change schools for her. She got there and made friends.

She was expecting him to approach her but did he even know that she was breathing or maybe there was anyone like her that ever existed?

She waited for so long. Yes. So long.

But he did not even look in her direction for once. He never checked her out.

But then these set of twins that just arrived some weeks ago already caught his attention.

“What do they use?” She thought inwardly.

Isn't she beautiful enough for him?

Maybe she should approach him instead. No. She can't. Impossible.

She turned and walked away.

“Yeah.” Jake yelled as if he had just had just hit the jackpot.

“Hey, man, what's up?” Jace asked.

Jake just smiled at him.

“Maybe the girl finally accepted to be his girlfriend.” Jeremy said.

Jake looked at him and shook his head.

“I only asked if we could be friends and she said yes.” He said.

“And that is why you are behaving like you just won a jackpot.” Jasper said and gave him the are-you-okay kind of look. Jake frowned his face and looked away.

“Where is Jayson?” Jake asked.

“Where else? Seems like these new set of twins already got your attention.” Jeremy replied.

“It’s nothing.” Jake said.

“We know, you already said it.” Jace said and Jeremy chuckled.

“Hey.” Jayson called as Elsa keeps walking.

“Hey.”

She stopped and turned towards him.

“Why can’t you leave me the fvck alone?” Elsa asked.

“Why are you so rude?” Jayson asked.

“I have only been asking you to be a friend and all you do is give rude response.” He snapped.

“And I said I don’t wanna be your friend, I mean why do guys that are from wealthy family think they can befriend whosoever they wanna befriend. Look, I don’t wanna be your friend and please stop disturbing me.” Elsa said. He looked at her with pain written on his face but he made sure he hid it quickly.

“Is it because I am from a wealthy family that you don’t want to be my friend?” He asked with his voice almost breaking.

He hated it. Being son and heir to his father’s properties.

And now it is stopping him from befriending someone.

“Yes.” She replied curtly.

“I am really sorry for snapping earlier. It is just that I was so desperate to have you as my friend that I did not know I was actually forcing you.” His apology took her by surprise. She thought he was one of those arrogant boys from a rich family who only know how to flaunt how rich their dad is.

“Sorry.” He said again and turned to leave.

All she did was stared at him blankly before leaving.

He watched her as she walked out of his sight.

*

“Fvck!” He cussed as he hit his hands on the walls beside him. Blood came gushing out.

“What!!” Jasper shouted as soon as he sighted him.

“Hey, Jayson, what is all of this?” Jace said as he gently placed him on a seat.

“Aren’t you guys sick of this kind life?.” He asked.

“What do you mean?” Jake asked.

“This wealthy life..” Jayson said.

“We have no choice.” Jasper said cutting him off.

“What happened?” Jake asked staring at him intently.

“Nothing, just that I want to be alone.” Jayson said.

“The last time I checked, we are supposed to be in chemistry class and here we are tending to an injury we could have avoided.” Jeremy said.

“Not like you listen in class.” Jace taunted.

“Oh, people, I got my parents to impress.” Jeremy said and looked away.

“I will be fine. You guys should be on your way to class.” Jayson said and relaxed.

“We are brothers and we will stick together.” Jake said as he took Jayson's palm.

“We will be on our way and to, Jake, meet us.” Jeremy said and exited the room with Jace and Jasper.

“What?? She does not want to be friends with you because you are from wealthy family?” Jake asked and smirked.

“I know that even if I am able to lie to everyone, you will always be excluded.” Jayson said and stood up. He walked to the window and stared outside.

“What is wrong from being from a wealthy family?” Jayson asked.

“Nothing is wrong, it is just that we are being seen as some playboys and arrogant guys.” Jake said and sighed.

“I am tired. I want to give up.” Jayson said dejectedly.

“You can't give up. Not now. Not ever… Your mom needs you.” Jake said and patted his shoulders.

“Ain't you gonna go to class?” Jayson asked and looked at him.

“I am tending to your wounds and besides my best friend is not feeling all too well. I need to be by his side.” Jake said and smiled.

“What do you think about that excuse, huh?” Jake said and raised his lips into a smirk.

“And is that an excuse? Seems like you have forgotten rules of the school.” Jayson said.

“No excuse is enough for missing out in class?.” Jake asked while Jayson nodded.

“We are gonna receive it together.” He said and smirked.

“Hey, we ain’t the son of the principal, let’s go.” Jayson urged Jake.

“Knew you would never miss class. Gotta think about the excuse.” Jake said and Jayson started laughing.

“Mrs Cutterwood would not let us off the hook.” Jayson said.

“Hmm..So harsh for my liking.” Jake said and frowned.

They walked along the corridor and finally got to the entrance of the class.

The teacher raised her head to look who was at the door, only to see the two students that had the guts to be absent from her class.

They stood outside for a while before entering.

“Come in, the both of you.” She instructed them

Every head turned towards them.
