Chapter 44: Chapter 44

Ellie came out of the bathroom whistling and went towards the mirror.

“What class are we having this morning?” She asked Elsa who was already buckling up the lace of her black shoes.

“No class. We will be in the music class while you will be in cheerleading class.” Elsa replied without looking at her.

“Okay then.” Ellie said and picked up the lotion. She pressed some into her palms and use it to rub her hands and legs.

“I’m done.” Elsa announced and bounced up.

“Wait for me.” Ellie mumbled and hurriedly wore her uniform. She sat down and wore her white socks, matched it with her black shoes.

“How do I look like, Elsa?” She asked and Elsa who was packing some things back into their bags turned towards her and looked at her from head to toe.

“Nothing changed. You still look the same in the blue jacket, black skirt and white inner t-shirt.” She said. Ellie uttered a snort and went to comb her hair. She took a hair tie and packed her hair into a ponytail.

“I’m done.” She announced and placed the comb back to where it was.

“You know when I was in Crystal's house, I was treated like a royalty. I slept in king-sized bed and had a hot bath. To top it all, I slept in luxury.” Ellie said as she recalled the day she met Crystal at her home.

“Care to explain how you met her?” Elsa asked as they hopped out of their room.

“After walking around and looking for a job, I was so tired that I needed rest. So I sat down in front of her house. Although I never knew she stays there and then when it started raining, she came home and honked her car at me since I was standing right in front of her house. After a while of convincing me, we went in and she entertained. Do you even know what?” She asked and stopped on her heels.

“What?” Elsa asked and turned towards her.

“Her parents speaks Italian.” She said smiling while Elsa only nodded her head at her. They walked past the class block and went to the extra curricular block where the activities will take place.

“Bye, Elsa.” Ellie waved at her and parted ways with her as they both got to Elsa's singing class. She walked to her cheerleading class, humming.

“Ellie.” Jake called out and she stopped on her tracks. She turned on her heels and faced him.

“Oh, hey, Jake.” She greeted him with a smile that made his heart melt. He smiled in return and walked towards her.

“How was the break?” He asked.

“It went well and yours?” She asked.

“Good. Hmmm.. Did your sister tell you I had asked of you?” He implored.

“Yeah, she did. Thanks.” She smiled again. He could not take his eyes off her. When Ellie noticed how awkward the situation had gotten. she spoke up, “Hmmm, I will be late for my class. See you later.”

“Oh, okay.” He said, coming out of his trance.

“Bye then.” He waved at her and she walked away.

“Don’t you think we have a basketball practice to go to?” Jeremy placed his hands on Jake's shoulders and stood beside him watching Elle's retreating body. Jake looked at him and threw his hands off his shoulders. He dusted his jacket off and hissed out.

“Hey, my hands are clean.” Jeremy complained. Jake shook his head and walked away.

“Wait up. Jake.” He called out and ran after.

**Basketball court**

“Hey, guys.” Jeremy greeted the boys as they both entered.

“Sup.” They all replied. Jayson looked up at him and smiled.

“Where did you go so early?” He asked as they shook hands.

“Somewhere.” He said and winked.

“Crazy.” Jayson hit his shoulders.

“Ouch.” Jake winced dramatically. “That hurts.” He touched his chest.

Pheewww!!

The coach blew the whistle and everyone jogged out. Jayson placed his water bottle down and went to join them.

“And where is the new guy?” The coach inquired.

“Here I am.” Christian announced his presence. Everyone turned towards him. He was clad in his basketball attire with an head band and a pair of white sneakers to match it. He walked gracefully into the court and bowed a little.

“Good morning, sir.” He greeted.

“Good morning.” The coach replied with a warm smile.

“Warm up.” The coach instructed him. They all separated and started exercising.

Christian went to drop the bag in his hands and soon joined the rest in warming up their body.

Phewww!!

The coach blew the whistle again gaining their attention.

“First team- Christain, Raph, Matt, Sam and Drake and the second team- Jayson, Jake, Jasper, Jace and Jeremy.” He called out and they all marched towards their parts of the court. They all stood in defense and looked straightforward. The ball was in the hands of Jake.

“Start!” The coach blew the whistle again.

“Hey, Crystal.” Ellie greeted her with a smile. Crystal turned towards her and smiled at her.

“You looked good.” She complimented Crystal.

“You don’t look bad either.” Crystal said in return and they both burst out laughing.

They walked out of the dressing room and met their female coach already giving instructions. They bowed their heads and hurriedly jogged to position themselves. All the girls that were there wore a red and blue short skirt with a sleeveless top and some shiny materials in their hands. The materials made sounds when they clamped together.

“On the day, the competition will be happening. We are going to be cheerleading them.” Their coach said and they all smiled.

“Get into formation.” She orders and they all walked out. Arranging themselves according to their heights. The coach smiled nicely.

“And how may I help you?” Elsa asked as Shawna and Tessy stood before her.

“Nothing. But wait, did I just see you and the new student talk?” Shawna asked pretending to be thinking.

“I guess I must be hallucinating.” She said hitting her forehead.

“Whether you were hallucinating or overthinking. It is none of my business.” Elsa hissed out and walked into her class. Shawna chuckled darkly and walked into the class.

“There is something between them and I must definitely find out.” She thought.
