MYRA….

I felt bad for Lauren. She likes Luca and she's jealous to see him with another girl. We don't know what kind of relationship Luca has with that girl. She can be his best friend, cousin or even his sister. I got out of the car after parking it in Lauren’s usual place and approached Luca.

“Hey, Luca!” I waved my hand at him.

“You came back so late tonight?” I asked him then looked at the girl.

“Who is this beautiful girl? Girlfriend?” I asked with a bright smile on my face.

“No, she's my close friend. She's my partner, who came back from Australia today.” He replied and I took a relieved breath in my mind.

Thank God!

She's just his friend.

I turned towards her and held out my hand for a handshake, holding the same smile on my face. “Hello, nice meeting you. I'm Myra. Luca’s Neighbor.”

She looked at him with a frown in her face. They were talking through their eyes. And I kept staring at them in confusion. “She's Lauren's best friend and moved here two days ago.”

Luca explained to her and she looked at me with a smile and reciprocated my handshake. “Nice meeting you, Myra. I'm Freya. I have heard a lot about Lauren. I knew she's his neighbor when you said you were his neighbor. I got confused. Sorry, don't misunderstand.” She laughed and I realised she's an angel not a vamp.

“Really? Luca talks about Lauren to you!” I stared at Luca with a mischievous grin on my face and he looked away.

“Obviously. He likes…..”before she could say further Luca covered her mouth with his palm.

“It's late. Go back home.” He pushed her in the car.

“Freya, come home. Or you can visit our restaurant anytime. I'll be glad if you come.” I invited her to get information from her. She was about to disclose something that's why Luca pulled that act. Don't worry, bro. I will get information by hook or crook.

“Sure. I will come to taste your friend’s cooking. All this while I only heard about how well she cooks. Finally I got the chance to taste her dishes. I will surely visit your restaurant.” She gave Luca a lip tight smile and drove back to leave our colony.

“Do you like Lauren?” I asked him straight and he was stunned.

“Don't lie to me. I'm an expert in this field. I have seen how you look at her. And it's clear that you have feelings for her. If you have feelings for her I can help you to court her.” I suggested and he raised his brow at me. Then bit his bottom lip to hold back the smile while looking away from me.

“Do you wanna play the cupid’s role in our story?” He asked me instead of answering me.

“It's a good deed. And I want to see my friend happy in her life. She had gone through a lot after she left her hometown. I was with her. And I had witnessed how she fought against every problem bravely. She never gets someone who loves her genuinely. That's why I want her to find true love in her life who will treat her the way she deserves. That asshole Jaxon Salvatore Knight isn't worthy of my friend.”

My mood always got soured just by uttering his name. I hate him with every ounce of my body. If he ever comes in front of me then I will kill him with my bare hands. He had hurt my bestie a lot. She loved him but he just wanted to keep her as a mistress. If he doesn't love his wife why doesn't he divorce her and marry Lauren. No, he wants both of them.

“You are useful. Why don't we go somewhere to talk? I can learn more about Lauren from you.” I gave it a thought then agreed with his idea.

“Okay. Let's go then.” He got into Lauren's car and we drove to a noodle stall on the roadside.

I told him everything in details, how Mr. Knight approached her for surrogacy then she met Jaxon. She went to his house and with time she fell in love with him. But her mistake was that she fell for a married man. Though they were in a relationship it was meaningless so after giving birth to the baby she left and came here away from everyone. No one knew she was here.

“She wants to settle down in her life and is looking for a Father for Alex. But you are a single Man. I mean unmarried. Why would you want to marry our Lauren who is a mother of a child. If you are looking for a girlfriend then forget it, I can't help you.”

I made it clear to him. I didn't want any man to play with my girl’s heart. She got hurt enough. I don't want to see her sad anymore.

“I'm serious about her. If she gives me a chance then I would be a good father for Alex and a loving husband for her. But I think she still loves Jaxon. I noticed how emotional she was when she was looking at their couple photo.” He said with a sad face.

“I agree that she still has feelings for him. But she wants to move on in her life. If you are serious about her then I will suggest you to court her. She will give in if you make her feel loved. She's hungry for love. From an early age she only got rejected. No one truly loved her. But she just wants to be loved, nothing else.”

“I will try my best to win her. Now let's go. I'm tired.” Luca got up from his seat after paying the bill for our noodles. We were walking towards the car when one man deliberately bumped into me. He didn't even apologise to me.

“What the hell! Are you blind?” I yelled at him. But he had the guts to push me back.

“What? Do you want to pick a fight with me?” He stared at me from head to toe with a smirk. And I felt disgusted under his gaze as the way he was looking at me made me feel like he was stripping my clothes with his eyes.

“I have seen plenty of whore who threw themselves at men to seduce them. If you are so desperate to get fucked then come I will definitely treat you like a Queen in be…..” before he could finish his line Luca twisted his hand behind his making it almost dislocated. He was wincing in pain.

“Let go of me, asshole. If you want to get a piece of her then I can share her with you. Please don't break my arm.” My blood boiled hearing his words. I wanted to beat him when I heard a crack sound and the man scream.

Luca just broke his arm but he didn't stop with that. He kicked his leg making him fall on the ground then he kicked his stomach many times. If I don't stop him now then I'm afraid he might kill him.

“Luca stop. You will kill him.” I held him from behind restraining him from beating him more.

“Come with me.” I dragged him with me towards the car.

“What’s wrong with you? You can't kill a person for harassing a girl.” I tried to knock some sense into him then passed him a bottle of water.

He splashed some water on his face to calm him down. He was breathing heavily but didn't say anything. “Get into the car.”

“You go back. I want to stay some time alone.” I stared at him in disbelief.

“I can't leave you here in this condition. What if you got yourself in trouble? You are not in your right mind. I'm afraid you might end up killing someone. You are going with me.” He pressed me with a death stared but I didn't look away from him.

“Fine. If you want to stay here. I'm also staying with you.” Saying that I jumped on the Bonet and sat on it. I looked up at the starry sky. It's high time I looked up at the sky. Because of my busy schedule I don't get time to admire the starry sky and the beautiful Moon.

“Why are you so stubborn?” Luca asked me but I didn't look at him.

“I'm a born stubborn. You can't win against me in this. Calm yourself down then we will go back together. You have an office and I have to wake up early to go to the restaurant.” I laid down on the glass and placed my hand over my forehead and sighed.

“Are you single?” I snapped my head to look at him.

“Why are you asking me this?” I asked him and he scratched the back of his head.

“I'm curious. I never saw you with any guy. And never saw you busy on the phone.” He stated and I laughed.

“You are quite observing. Yes, I'm single. I had a lot of boyfriends in my life but all of them were dickheads. No one loved me, they only loved my body.” I said nonchalantly.

“Now I understand why you are Lauren's best friend. Both of you share the same fate in a relationship.” I smiled at his point. He was right. I can feel her feelings that's why we are so close.

“Let's go, wildflower. I'm feeling better now.” Saying that he reached out his hand for me to get down from the car. I placed my hand over his and he helped me to get down from the car then I drove back home.

“Good night.” Luca waved his hand before entering his apartment and I got into ours. As soon as I got inside the house I was starstruck to witness the scene before me. Lauren was lying on the floor.

I thought something happened to her so I ran to her but when I noticed the beer bottles on the table I understood she just knocked off after drinking too much. So I dragged her to her room and made her lay on the bed.

Was she sad to see Luca with someone else?
