I headed towards the step and ran as fast as I could. The steps go on forever in this haunted mansion. When I reached the end, breathlessly I expected to see any room but Iam on the terrace. I spotted Issac and some other boy. Behind them, the crystal blue and silver stones are kept in a stand.

“Get out of here, Sydney,” Issac shouted at me. Why is he doing that? He’s my friend and Iam so near to getting the stone. I can’t miss my chance. Before I could stop my inner thoughts in the middle of a game, the boy near Issac started to change to some other form.

“I told you to go,” Issac approached me. Now only Iam seeing his face. His whole body is injured so badly. Blood dripping from his arms and legs. He’s really in a terrible condition.

“You need to press the watch. You can’t proceed further in this state.” I said ignoring his warning.

“That doesn’t matter. I won’t give up but...” He trailed off when the boy fully transformed into a dragon.

Dragon shifter

“Oh, my god. Can we fight it?” I murmured.

“I don’t know, but he’s my forever enemy. I won’t give up no matter what,” Issac lifted his hands and brought the fire with his power and blasted against the dragon. I need to help him. Without hesitation, I took my bow and arrow once again. This time I won’t lose or give up. I took an aim at it and released it. The dragon blasted fire on both of us. All we can do is dodge and attack it back. But Issac got exhausted. He could faint at any moment. I can’t see him like this.

“What are you doing?” he yelled at me when I pressed his watch without his permission. Now the academy bodyguards will take him to give treatment.

“You are insane. You can’t fight against the dragon. Can you?” He shouted, but his voice was inaudible as he’s losing his consciousness.

“Whether I can or not. You can’t.” He tried to resist, but he fainted right away. Before I could turn and face the dragon, it blasted fire and someone pushed me to the ground.

“Sorry. I got into a problem but Iam back.”

“Jacen,”

“Go get the stone. I will handle this fucking dragon,” Jacen said and without a word, I hurried towards the stone. The Dragon’s attention is on me as it keeps on blasting fire to stop me, but Jacen distracted it much better I could imagine.

Iam one inch closer to the crystal blue stone. “Not so fast,” I heard some bitch’s voice, and she tripped me down.

“It’s mine,” Cassie approached it. She was totally alright. She just appeared from nowhere and there’s no evidence of getting hurt or injured in the game. She’s looking like she’s about to go to a ball with a date.

“That’s not yours,” I got up and pushed her aside and took the crystal stone. I guess I at least won the second prize. It’s not that hard. Not in the first attempt.

“Noah, are you okay?” I ran into him after we all come back to the forest entrance.

“Of course. I got healed.” He calmly replied. But that’s a lie.

“No, you got a bruise in your eyes. You are not perfectly alright. It’s my fault I left you,” I apologized, still regretting it.

“It’s not a big deal. I was the one who told you to run. I know you will win.” He gave me his bright smile.

“Thank you for believing me.” I hugged him lightly, trying not to hurt his wounds, which may take a some time to heal.

“That’s enough, I guess. My brother is fine,” Jacen intruded and parted us apart.

“Iam not so good as you, brother,” Noah said in irritation. He doesn’t even look at him while talking.

“Anyway. We three need to talk. Don’t we?” Jacen asked, particularly targeting Noah.

“Okay. But there’s still time for that. I won the game. Aren’t you interested in what gift am I going to receive?” I talked enthusiastically, trying to change the topic.

“Sydney,” someone called me.

“Amelia,”

“Yes, it’s me. I am sorry if you are angry with me. You know, you left me alone.” She looked down and talked.

“I was angry... but...”

“Just forget about it. You know what, I was under many more problems than you guys. Get over it. Noah is a Vampire so nothing will happen to him,” she said, proving she did nothing wrong. But Iam not the one who’s having vengeance on my so-called wolf roommate.

“I guess that okay but Noah may not be dead but he’s injured so...” I trailed off, thinking about how he controlled the lightning. It was impressive. I never saw anything like this.

“Hey, how did you control the lightning. I mean... you are a vampire. You can’t just... Can you do it too, Jacen?” I blurted, and both laughed at how Iam sounding like a kid who looks at everything in wonder.

“I don’t have it. But Vampires have this power which is so rare,” Jacen said.

“And I didn’t even know I got that. Queen Victoria helped me in talent class. That’s how I got to know about it and can able to improve it,” Noah explained. I patted his shoulder and gave him a smile.

“Sydney Marin,” I heard someone again calling me in a mike. Everyone’s chattering noise decreased a little and I make my way to the stage. A bodyguard came behind the backstage holding something. Before I can see it, I decided to stop it. I know that’s a gift for winning the paranormal game.

“I don’t want any prize,” I alarmingly announced in front of everyone. I already decided what I need to do if I win this game.

The bodyguard stopped in his track. “What?” the Queen asked.

“Can I ask you some other thing than the prize?”

“Go on,” the Queen kindly replied.

“That’s too personal. So, all I want is to ask you a favour alone,” I hesitated and told.

“A favour...” the Queen asked in confusion. I don’t know how I am I going to explain it. Before I could finish saying anything, the king took the mike and make an announcement.

“The third winner can get the prize now and everyone can go to your dorm room and get rest till tomorrow night,” He continued saying some other thing, and the Queen motioned me to follow her out of the stage.

“So, what favour do you want me to do, Sydney?” she asked. I never expected a Queen will be so kind like her. I guess this won’t be like this in next-generation where Cassie will be the Queen. I would rather go out of this Slateville city and live somewhere with Jacen, I guess. I think Iam imagining too much.

“Your majesty, my Queen, I have already told you my parents are dead. It’s okay if you don’t remember...”

“I remember,” she said. She got perfect memory power.

“So.. I want to summon their soul and see them one last time,”
