Chapter 33: Chapter 33

“Great job, Sydney. You have some talents,” Christopher, my witch spell and portion professor, appreciated me for using my power against Cassie in the dual. But all I did was tell something which Iam not supposed to do. I kinda cheated.

“How do you know that? You are doing to pay for this. I will...” Cassie shouted and got interrupted by Christopher.

“She did her best in the dual. You should accept that you lost to Sydney, Princess Cassie,” he politely told her.

“No, Iam not talking about that... uhh never mind,” she gave up and the last bell rang. Christopher went to see other students’ performances.

“Are you digging my family secrets? You don’t know I can do much better than that. I know you are a girl who spends all your life in a house locked up. I will dig up many things about you faster than you could blink your eyes,” she spoke like giving me a warning. But I don’t care. I will be glad if she digs more things about me which I never know till now.

“Sure. Do it. That will be helpful to me. I will know more about me and my family, which Iam not aware of,” I said with a smile.

“Sure, you will.” she faked a smile before walking away from the class.

.....

One more day for the paranormal games. I already learned how to use a bow and arrow. I should practise right now. But Iam with Victoria’s diary. I opened the page where I left.

It’s been 15 years since I, and Dorothy fell in the sea. Now Iam having a happy married life with Peter. Peter is from a rich family in Ravewood. He came to Slateville for a job and we both met. That’s when my life turned happier than I could expect. Dorothy found Thomas, and they got married. But Dorothy is still behaving like I never existed. Iam so tired of trying to talk with her. I became the Queen and soon I accepted this is my fate. My sister not going to tell me what happened that day we both drowned in the middle of the sea. I gave up.

Her writings ended on that page and kept my hand on it so I could see what happened next. Within seconds, a bright light lightened up the entire room, and Iam inside the castle.

Dorothy is standing near the balcony, and Victoria is standing ten feet away from her with Peter.

“This has to end today. Are you going to avoid me for the whole eternity?” Victoria shouted so loud from her throat. Dorothy just ignored her. I don’t know what causes this fight but there’s a tension in the place which I could feel even though Iam not truly here.

“Please don’t strain yourself, dear. You are pregnant.” Peter said with concern.

“What? Victoria’s pregnant?” I shouted, but I know no one could hear me. I can’t believe Victoria got pregnant. I heard she never had a child.

“What do you really want, Victoria? Iam not interested in talking with you like a sister and I will never tell you what happened that day. It’s not gonna happen. Just give up and go.” Dorothy said with irritation.

“Fine. If that’s what you want, I will change myself. I was the only one who cared for you till now. You are an awful sister. I wish you were dead that day.” Victoria lost her patience and let those hurtful words.

Hurt flashed in Dorothy’s eyes. She tried to say something but stopped herself. Soon Victoria left the hall with Peter. After she left, Iam standing near Dorothy alone. Before the scene chanced, Dorothy muttered something to herself which is barely audible.

“I really died that day,”

I blankly stared at her and the scene shifted. All these memories are so confusing. Nobody knows what happened that day and now Dorothy said: “she’s dead”. Is it even possible? Then the scene moved fast.

All I could see in the moving scene is Victoria had a girl child. Peter and Victoria are happy together while Dorothy got pregnant with Cassie. It has to be Cassie; I guess. Then Victoria named her child,

“Sapphire,”

“She’s named after the greatest witch,” Victoria said those words three times, and the next scene emerged. That’s how the Academy got this name. But where is Sapphire right in the present world? Why everyone is telling Victoria had no child? I got interrupted by many thoughts for a moment continuously.

“Wait for me, Cassie,” Sapphire says in her cute childish voice and ran after Cassie, who is also looking like a Five-year-old child right now in the past. They both are looking like close friends or sisters, while Victoria and Dorothy aren’t.

Sapphire and Cassie are both looking adorable, even though I hate Cassie in the present. All these memories felt so real that I feel like I know these two kids.

“Mommy, you said you will take us on a trip. When are we going?” Sapphire asked Victoria who’s seated on her throne. Cassie also standing next to Sapphire waiting for Victoria’s answer.

“We will be going on next month to Ravewood. You need to be patient for that,”

“Yeah, sure we can,” Cassie said, smiling at Sapphire. The happy memories moved fast in front of my eyes. Everyone is happy, even Dorothy, and it stopped right at a room. It’s Victoria’s room, I guess. This diary is supposed to tell only sad memories of the Queen and Iam right at the correct place. The Queen is crying.

“It’s her sixth birthday. She’s too young to die,” Victoria sobbed and choked. Her eyes are red from crying. Peter wrapped his arms around her and let out his tears. Sapphire is lying motionless on her bed. It’s too hard to see a child like this. Seeing her like this makes me want to cry. Iam really crying. Dorothy and Cassie are standing still mourning Sapphire’s death. What really caused her death? I feel like I missed many memories of Victoria. My head and my whole-body having pain like Iam dying right now in the memory. I fell on my knees, having both of my hands on my heart. My heart is beating faster. I feel like I might die in these memories.

Suddenly a guard entered the room breathlessly. “Princess Sapphire was poisoned,”
