Chapter 32: Chapter 32
When everyone gave up on Dorothy to breathe again, she started choking. Dorothy got saved without a doctor. The King and queen don’t know how that’s possible, but they are happy that she’s with them. They thought they saved both of their daughters, but that’s not true.
The scene shifted and Iam outside the same palace which is the Academy Iam studying in. I can feel it’s a windy day even though I don’t belong here.
“Why aren’t talking with me, Dorothy? It’s been months and you are not acting like yourself. Don’t you see that? It’s not you,” Victoria walking behind her sister, who is acting like she’s alone in this own place. She doesn’t bother to reply back to her sister.
“Please, Dorothy doesn’t avoid me,” Victoria begged.
“Stop talking. I don’t want to hear your voice. You may see me as your sister, but I don’t. Our parents saved you first. They didn’t think of me first. I don’t have anyone by my side. You don’t know what I have been through,”
“They saved me because I was nearly attacked by that whale. Trust me, that’s the truth. You can’t be like this, just for an incident that happened months ago. The year is almost over,” anger flashed through Dorothy’s child eyes once Victoria talked.
“It’s just an incident, just an incident. Yeah, I got it. You aren’t me. You easily got saved by our dad. But me...” she trailed off, thinking whether or not to tell. She’s looking like she’s hiding something behind the accident, which she’s not ready to share with anyone.
“Tell me. Iam here to hear.” Victoria approached her, taking a step forward.
“Never mind. Leave me alone,” Dorothy calmly said and walked away from her.
“No, please,” Victoria begged again, walking towards without giving up.
“Oh please. Don’t make me beg. All I asked you is to...” Dorothy turned towards and got stunned by looking up. A branch in a tree is about to fall right on Victoria.
“Go back,” she shouted, but Victoria is still standing without knowing it. She must have been thinking her sister was talking in anger. Immediately, the branch fell and Dorothy lifted her hands to use her magic. The royals always have crystal blue magic, but Dorothy’s was black. Total dark magic. Victoria was saved. The branch doesn’t even hit the ground but got vanished by her magic.
Victoria saw it with her own eyes. “What happened to your power?” she didn’t even tell ‘thank you for saving’ but questioned here.
“You are not meant to see this. You will be dead if you told this to our mom or dad. Mind it.” she harshly spoke and ran away. Victoria is too shocked to reply.
Dorothy stopped running and looked up at her sister. “You know what? This is all because of you. You are responsible for everything. I will never forgive you,” she snapped and went. Victoria doesn’t have an idea what’s her sister is talking about. Dorothy doesn’t even explain the reason, but something is wrong with her.
When Iam staring blankly at a small innocent girl Victoria, I got transported to my room again. Everything’s back to normal. This diary isn’t helpful. I don’t know what causes Dorothy’s power which turned black. I only know about the incident in the middle of the sea which is the beginning of all the problems.
Then I noticed there’s some writing on the page which I didn’t see earlier.
It’s been nearly 30 years, despite that, I don’t know what happened to Dorothy. I desperately need to know it, but we are not talking like we used to be. I wish I could go back in time to stop myself from going on a trip on the ship that day. I would have gotten my sister back.
That page ends with that.
“Sydney, are you here? Open up the door. You are not with Jacen, right? Remember my rules,” I heard Amelia’s voice, and I hid the book in my locker.
“Stop involving Jacen. Iam not with him right now,” I shouted back.
.....
Finally, the day has arrived. I need to kill her...
Iam just kidding. Iam in witch spell class. It’s a large hall with many students. Each assigned pair needs to use their magic to disarm the other one to score points. That’s doesn’t mean we need to kill them. It’s just a practice and I hope no one will be truly harmed. But I want to hurt my opponent.
“You aren’t in your all-time gown, Cassie,” I teased while attacking her with my power to distract her.
“I also wear uniforms and whatever I do, it’s none of my business. Iam only here to fight you,”
“Yep, I know that,” I said, dodging away from a crystal blue light. That’s when I remembered Queen Victoria’s diary. If Dorothy’s power is black then why Cassie has royal power. That seems impossible,
“Ahhh,” I got distracted by my own thoughts and hit the ground hard.
“Ha-ha, I need to hurt to once again score more. But I don’t what to stop. I feel like you are my enemy.” She spoke the truth for the first time and Iam not shocked.
“I can feel the same way about too, since I saw you. Otherwise, I can tell you are my enemy for centuries ago. Seriously, I hate to see you right now,” I told what’s inside my heart.
“I know that. Let’s get over this match and don’t get in my way again,” we both lifted our hands. Both the blue light collided, and it almost looks like the same. Expect her power is brighter than mine. Each time Iam see her, Iam remember Dorothy and her black power.
“You are the one who is getting in my way every time,” I hissed, managing to fight her. I think I underestimated her. She’s much more powerful and a hateful princess. Losing my energy, I started stepping backwards. There’s no sign of tiredness on her face. She’s still looking stronger than before while Iam looking like I can fall on the ground and faint at any time.
“Why is your power being so strong while your mother is nothing but having black magic?” I thought. No, I spoke instead of thinking. I messed everything. I wasn’t supposed to sound harsh on someone even though I don’t like them.
“What?” she got stunned and fell on the ground after hitting the wall. She stopped her power the moment she heard my words. She doesn’t care to stand up or scold me instead, she’s too stunned to respond. Once I said those words, I can’t take them back or tell any lies.
“How do you know about my mother, you fucking bitch?”
