Chapter 14: Chapter 14

“Tell me what do you want from her?” Jacen punched that stranger’s face and commanded the answer.

“She’s not supposed to be alive,” he said without trying to punch Jacen back.

“Tell clearly or I will beat you to death. If you want to deal with her, you should cross us first.” Jacen shouted, kicking him again.

“Why should I tell you?” he glowered, looked at him and his face and whole body changed in front of my eyes. He became a wolf and ran away doing nothing. For a minute, we all took time to understand what’s really going on.

“Who is he?” I muttered.

“I don’t know. He won’t come back. We will protect you.” Noah reassured me and we reached home safely, meeting no weird people. I want to know why he tried to kidnap me. I’m nobody. A girl who never existed. He looked like he wants to kill me. I didn’t do anything to anyone.

“Hi, mom. Is lunch ready?” Jacen asked Nina when we reached home.

“Um... I don’t know.” She replied, looking distracted by holding something in her hands.

“Mom, what do you mean by you don’t know?” Noah asked, walking towards her.

“We recieved Letter from Sapphire Academy,” she said keenly, looking at it like is it really came to the right address. Now Jacen and Noah will study there. I will be at home with Nina. My life has been going great, why it’s changing now?

“Then why are you looking upset. Give it to us.” Jacen urged her.

“Wait. We reached three letters. That means one is for Sydney.”

What? Am I hearing it right or my ear is not working properly?

“That’s the wonderful news I’m hearing. She can come with us.” Noah excitedly spoke but Nina looked so uncertain.

“Can I see it, please?” I impatiently got the letter from Nina. I opened it with excitement to the core. I didn’t even expect it in my life. How do they know about me?

They even mentioned my name. Now all I want is someone’s permission. “Can I go there?” I asked Nina with doubt, who looked more uncertain.

“I doubt that. I need Lydia’s permission. You got hurt under my protection now. I can’t do this. I’m sorry, Sydney.” Nina apologized softly. Everything is about to happen and at the last minute, I can’t give up.

“Please, Mom. Accept it. I won’t go without Sydney.” Jacen pleaded with her. We all need some adult permission to join, which I don’t have.

“It’s not in my hands. Don’t ask me this question again.” Nina walked out of the hall without another word. I once again looked at my letter. It feels like I’m holding my dream in my hand.

“We will find a way, Sydney. I will talk with her again.” Jacen tried to cheer me up which will not happen. Now I’m not sad, but angry.

“It’s okay. You don’t need to try.” I said, looking at the letter one last time.

“Who needs this? Burn it.” I yelled, throwing it and went to my room, slamming the door shut. Both brothers didn’t disturb me or try to talk with me for the rest of the day. I stayed alone in my room to practice the loneliness again. Jacen even tried to talk at dinnertime, but seeing my frustrated face, he didn’t step up to talk. I never behaved like this except now.

I slept early to forget all the memories of today. But I don’t know something good can come in overnight. I think it’s morning, but I preferred to sleep a little longer. I turned to the other side of my bed to sleep comfortably, but for a second my eyes were half-opened and I saw Jacen’s face.

What?

“What are you doing here?” I screamed in shock.

“Hey, don’t panic. I didn’t do anything. I came to your room five minutes ago. I waiting for you to wake up.” he explained it but I know I locked my room yesterday. I looked at the door and glared at him.

“Sorry, I came through the window. I want to tell you good news.” he got out of my bed. He doesn’t need to sneak out of his own house. He should have knocked on the door.

“There’s nothing good in my life.” I snapped and rubbed my eyes. I didn’t expect to see Jacen in my bed. Why was he staring at me while I’m sleeping?

“Hereafter, every day will be good. You are accepted to go to Sapphire Academy.” he proudly announced, and I really can’t believe it until I know the reason.

“How?” I calmly asked without any happiness.

“I asked my mother, and she called Lydia. We all talked about what Pamela did to you. Lydia worried about the friend’s betrayal and then only she accepted our request. Noah and I will take care of you 24/365. Are you happy now? We will be leaving in 3 days.”

“You are serious, right? I’m going to faint right now. Why did I tell you to burn the letter? now I’m going to Sapphire Academy.” I jumped down from the bed and hugged Jacen tightly in happiness. I didn’t even take a bath, but he smells so fresh.

“Sorry, I was caught up in the moment.” If I could hug him, I will hug him for the whole day. I tried to push myself away from him but he didn’t let me go.

“It’s okay. Don’t be nervous, baby,” he whispered in my ear and there’s a knock on the door at that moment, making us break apart.

“I will open it.” I walked over to the door to see Noah.
