Chapter 23: Chapter 23
Chapter 22
"Lieutenant Jared" Trevas called before turning around to look for it but everywhere he looked he did not see it. Sergeant min approached us and spoke.
"Miss Lina brought Lieutenant Jared to the clinic, general Trevas" Sergeant Min greeted Trevas but I could see the fear in his eyes and I'm sure even Trevas noticed that but he just didn't say it.
"What happened to Lieutenant Jared?"
"He was beaten in the fight earlier so he had to be taken to the clinic back to camp" Sergeant min replied and Trevas nodded before turning his gaze to Luke.
"Please handcuff this man so that he cannot use his power" The handcuff used in this world is a magical handcuff where the wearer cannot use his power.
"You don't have to hand me, I'm keeping my promise" Luke said.
"I don't trust you" Trevas replied before nodding to sergeant min and he handcuffed Luke who just sighed before approaching us and looking at me.
"I won't take you back to Bauxacel for now ... but that doesn't mean I won't make a way to force you to come back" Luke said with a smile before following Sergeant min back to camp with his men and Trevas.
"We won" I said while still looking at the mage and wizard who were walking back to the camp map at the same time whether they were allies or enemies.
"Yes, we won" Trevas sighed before we both walked back to camp.
---
"Lina!" I called Lina when I saw her come out of a large tent where we were taking the wounded for treatment. He turned to me and smiled at me. He was about to walk towards me but he suddenly stopped when he saw Luke following Sergeant min while handcuffed.
He quickly rushed at Luke before kicking him in the face. Luke turned to the right because of that before he turned to Lina.
"Woah, what a woman" whistled the leader of the barbarians who was also handcuffed next to Luke.
"Who are you?" Lina frowned when she asked him as if she was trying to remember where she saw this man.
"Alaric, the chief and king of the virgoths barbarians" said Alaric before holding out his hand to Lina but she just stared at him so he also withdrew his hand before scratching his neck. “Nice to meet you too”
“What’s going on here?” Trevas asked as we approached the three of them.
Luke pointed at Lina. "He punched 'me bi-"
Luke hadn't finished what he was saying when Lina suddenly grabbed him by the collar before bringing their faces closer. “If only I could have killed you. I really have a strong feeling that you and your father are responsible for all this ”
"It's true" I said, causing Luke and Lina to look at me at the same time.
"Which?" Lina asked.
“Our suspicions are true Lina. Luke admitted that he and his father himself planned to f-frame up papa and kill the whole Knoxx family. ”I turned to Luke and he looked away.
Lina turned her gaze to Luke. "I knew it"
Lina walked closer to Luke and was about to attack him again but Sergeant Min suddenly blocked her and pulled her away from Luke.
"What are you doing?" Lina asked annoyed sergeant min before struggling with his grip on her.
"I've been wanting to skin that life before but I can't" said Sergeant Min as a reason to frown at Lina.
"And why?"
"You guys need me" Luke said before Sergeant Min could speak. "To form the alliance between Bauxacel and Beifang, you need me"
"Alliance?" Lina asked as if no one knew about the events earlier in the fight.
"Where were you when he and Trevas were fighting?" I will ask.
"Luke and Trevas fought?" Lina asked as a reason to hold me by the forehead. "I took Jared to the clinic because he was struck by that lightning bolt" Lina pointed at Luke.
"What's her condition?" Trevas asked but before Lina could speak, colonel jay suddenly appeared from the tent where Lina also came from earlier.
"He's awake" said colonel jay before saluting Trevas and nodding in my direction.
Lina didn't bother to speak anymore and walked straight into the big tent.
"Please take good care of those two," Trevas said to sergeant min. He was referring to Luke and Alaric who were still handcuffed. Sergeant Min nodded before saluting and took Luke where Trevas and colonel jay and I started walking to the tent to find out about Lieutenant Jared's condition.
I really don't care about his condition even if he dies but after all I have nowhere else to go, I'll just go with them.
The tent is big inside. Compared to the look of the tent on the outside it is 10 times bigger inside and I’m sure that’s because of a magic because it’s very impossible to fit everything here inside in a small tent. There are about 50 single beds you will find inside the tent and each bed has a curtain in between. Those in critical condition were lying in bed while those in the chair had only simple bruises or wounds.
There are maybe ten alchemists here who treat patients and there are five alchemists who are in a corner of the tent and mixing a mixture of what color liquids and strange plants that I think are medicine in what what wounds and pain.
Trevas and I only followed colonel jay because he knew where Lieutenant jared was but as we walked I couldn't help but be amazed while watching the alchemists' treatment.
Most alchemists are water users and I know why. Like me, when I didn’t get Anna’s power I was also always underestimated because it recognizes the water element as the weakest of all elements so most water users prefer to be an Alchemist where they don’t have to fight.
I turned to a patient when he screamed in pain because an Alchemist poured a blue liquid on his wound but at the same time it gradually closed when he had a large wound on his arm and not a small scar was left there.
I stopped walking when Colonel Jay, who was in front of Trevas and me, also stopped walking. I turned to Trevas and he shrugged as if to say that he also didn’t know why they stopped walking.
I turned to colonel jay and saw that he was an idiot while looking at one of the hospital beds and even I was dumbfounded when I saw Lina hugging Lieutenant Jared who was currently sitting on the side of the bed. Lieutenant Jared's eyes suddenly widened when he noticed us and his previously raised eyebrows met even more before he touched Lina.
"Let's stay like this" I heard Lina say before tightening her grip on Lieutenant Jared. He hadn't noticed us yet because he had turned his back in our direction.
"Lina" Lieutenant Jared called her in his deep voice.
"Yes baby?" Lina's laughable answer caused Lieutenant Jared's eyebrows to meet more and he tried to push her away but I know that he was just weakening his push on Lina because apart from being bigger and stronger than Lina, he is a level 7 air user Jared while Lina was only at level 4 so he was able to force Lina away from him but even then he didn't do it.
"Why?" Lina broke away from him when he still tried to push him away. Lina followed where she was looking so our eyes met but unlike Jared who looked away he was still looking up at us. "What are you doing here?"
"Looks like the timing wasn't good" said Colonel Jay who made Trevas laugh but I was the only one who wasn't happy with what I saw.
"I don't know how low your taste is Lina" I said as my eyes narrowed at Lieutenant Jared who was also looking back at me badly.
"Wow, which of the two of us used to like Luke?"
"What did you say?" I didn't notice that my voice was getting louder so the other patients and Alchemist who was just near us looked at us.
“Oh my bad, it wasn't just before. Until now ”said Lina as a reason for me to run out of patience with him but before I could rush Lina, Lieutenant Jared suddenly stretched his hand in my direction and from his hand a strong wind flowed causing me to retreat.
I saw Lina smile before licking and teasing me even more.
"Enough" Trevas 'disobedience caused Lina and me to stop and no one knows why Trevas' voice suddenly became serious even though he was still laughing before. "Get ready, we will return to the palace tomorrow"
Trevas turned and was about to walk away but he suddenly stopped before facing Jared's direction.
"And Jared, I vote for you" he said before continuing to walk out of the tent.
Lina's smile suddenly widened before sitting down next to Lieutenant Jared who I had just noticed had a ruptured left hand that was most likely due to Luke's lightning.
“See? Even your general and boss Trevas are willing to say that you are the only one who is not ”whispered Lina but I heard that very well.
"I still don't agree with you" I said.
"Don't get upset, Luke just didn't want you like that"
“Can you be quiet now? Don't involve Luke in this. ” annoyed I told him.
"Alright, I'm sorry" Lina said when she realized that things related to Luke were not a joke.
I gasped before Lieutenant Jared looked at the two of them. Be that as it may, I admit that they are two things. The two have very different temperaments but somehow I can see that they get along as if they are making up for each other’s shortcomings.
"Just ... Don't get hurt" I said to Lina because I don't want her to be like me.
I didn't wait for Lina's answer and I left the tent.
To be continued.
