Chapter 79: Chapter 79
Kimberly Brown's POV.
"Vicky..." I cried the moment I open the door to receive Vicky, I called her some minutes ago after Kyle left, crying uncontrollably into the phone, I could not just take what I heard from Kyle that I had to call Vicky, even when I know that she is at work.
How could he? I kept on asking myself, why would he do that behind my back and what prompted him to do that? Is he planning on taking my kids away from me to live with that b*tch Sonia? I kept on saying to myself feeling very terrified of what might happen.
"What happened to you, Kim?" Vicky asked hugging me tightly as I kept on subbing on her shoulders.
"Talk to me, Kim," Vicky said releasing me from her embrace sounding very confused at my countenance, I guess she is frightened by the look on her face now.
"I did not know who to call, Vicky," I told her, "Kyle, Kyle was here," I added, trembling as I speak.
"What?" Vicky asked, "Kyle was here, what was he doing here?" She asked peering at me inquisitively.
"Come, come in, have a seat first," Vicky told me when I did not reply, walking me into my house and helping sit on a chair in my living room.
"Where are Alex and Sandra?" She asked again looking around.
"They are sleeping," I told her, thankfully, Alex and Sandra are sleeping when this whole thing happened.
"Did they sleep late last night?" Vicky asked and I nodded in response, whenever Alex and Sandra sleep late they usually sleep far into the morning before waking up, except on some occasions.
"Okay, now tell me what happened?" Vicky asked sitting beside me, "or do you want us to talk about this in your room?" She asked again.
"I think my room will be better," I told her, feeling the need to lie down.
"Okay, let's go then," she replied, helping me up and walking me to my room again.
"Now tell me, Kim, what did Kyle do to you?" Vicky asked again after I have sat on and leaned on my bed.
I stared at Vicky steadily, still wondering how I let this happen, and I am wondering what is going to happen to us now that he has found out, I heard him clearly before he left my house, "he said he is coming back, Vicky," I said out loud.
"Who? Kyle?" Vicky asked.
"Yes, Vicky," I told her.
"What happened, Kim? What did Kyle do to you to make you this terrible? Girl you look terrible,"
"Vicky, Kyle found out about Alex-Sandra," I told her, leaning forward and feeling a burning rage inside of me again, the same way I have felt when he showed me the DNA report.
"Wait, what do you mean he found out about Alex-Sandra?" Vicky asked peering at me.
"Kyle was here three or four days ago, Vicky, that is when he got some hair samples from Alex-Sandra," I explained to Vicky who seemed lost, as she stared at me.
"Wait, Kyle was here some days ago?" Vicky asked sounding and looking surprised.
"Yes, Vicky," I replied with a nod.
"How come you didn't tell me about it?" She asked.
"I did not want to bother with it, Vicky, I thought I took care of it, and I have troubled you so much already, that's why?"
"So you said he took some samples from Alex-Sandra?" Vicky asked again after a while, trying to get the gist, I guess.
"Yes, Vicky, He took strands of hair from my kids, unknown to me, and he came back here today with a DNA report which shows that Alex-Sandra is his kids," I told Vicky, "can you imagine that b*stard taking my kid's hair?" I asked bitterly.
"How did he come to that point anyway?" Vicky asked after a while, I guess she thought briefly about it.
"I do not know, Vicky, I even told him I have a husband, I do not know how he managed to get to that point where he would suspect my kids are his," I told Vicky, sobbing as I did.
"Oh, don't cry Kim," Vicky told me, touching my face to wipe the hot streams of tears coming down my face, "I told you already that you cannot hind Alex-Sandra for so ever," Vicky added hugging me now.
"Why are you crying anyway, I think it is a good thing he found out about the kids, if you ask me," Vicky told me after a while.
"How is it a good thing?" I asked releasing myself from her embrace, "how is it a good thing, Vicky?" I asked again, wiping the tears from my face this time with the back of my palm, I am angry at Vicky now for saying what she just said, I do not think she knows what she is talking about.
"Calm down, Kim," Vicky told me.
"How can I calm down, do not tell me to calm down Vicky," I snapped at her.
"Calm down, Kim," she told me again, "look at things on the brighter side, will you?" She asked.
"What brighter side? Do you not know what is going to happen?" I asked her.
"No, I don't," she replied, "what I see here is you getting help in raising your kids, I think he is concerned that is why he went ahead to carry out the test in the first place," Vicky replied.
"No, Vicky, I do not think so," I told her again.
"What are you afraid of, Kim?" She asked me instead.
"I am afraid of losing my kids, Vicky, what if he decides to take the kids away from me? You know how he is and his family too and what if he decides to raise my kids with that b*tch, Sonia?" I asked.
"That will never happen, Kim, so stop being afraid, what I think is going to happen here is this, you will get support from him to raise your kids and giving yourself a chance to move on too," Vicky told me.
"I do not want any help from that bastard, Vicky,"
"Stop being stubborn, Kim, I think you should talk to him and have him pay for all you're suffering so far, that is what I would do if I were in your shoes," Vicky said almost angrily, I think.
"And you know what else I would have done?" She asked gazing into my eyes this time.
"No, Vicky?" I replied wondering what it is she is going to say.
"I would have made sure to teach that Sonia b*tch a lesson, by keeping Kyle away from her," she told me, I scoffed at her statement now, I thought she was going to say something important.
"Do not be ridiculous Vicky," I told her.
"This is not a matter of being ridiculous, I mean what I have just told you," Vicky said.
"Well, that is you, Vicky, and not me," I told her, "besides, there is nothing fascinating about Kyle, that I would want to keep him even if it is for the sake of teaching Sonia a lesson," I told her.
"That is, by the way, Kim, what I still do not understand is how Kyle got to the point of taking samples from Alex and Sandra to conduct a DNA test," Vicky said.
"That is what I do not understand too Vicky, and if I do not know you well enough, I would have thought that you told him about it yourself," I said looking at Vicky.
"Oh... that is touching to know that you trust me very much," Vicky said holding her palms to her cheek, I think she is blushing now.
"Get over it, Girl," I told her, and we both laughed a bit, and this eased my heavy heart a little.
"Do you think Jimmy could have told him?" I asked after a while.
"What?" Jimmy?" Vicky asked widening her eyes in disagreement, I guess, "Jimmy would never do such a thing, trust me," she added.
"I am sorry," I apologised to her.
"Why would you even think that? Jimmy wouldn't dare," Vicky said, "How did Kyle get a hold on Alex-Sandra's hair strands anyway?" Vicky asked too almost immediately.
"He told me he took it from them, I think it was when they were playing outside," I told her.
"Wait, they were playing outside?" She asked looking all serious now as if she is on to something.
"Yes," I replied with a nod.
"And where were you?" She asked again, gazing at me.
"I was inside the house at that time, Vicky, I left Alex-Sandra outside and went into the house to get something for Sandra, only for me to come back out to see Kyle with them," I explained to Vicky.
"Was he playing with them?" She asked yet again after a pause.
"Yes, I think so, I was too furious to pay attention to what he was doing at that time," I replied her again.
"That is it then?" Vicky said, snapping her fingers.
"What? I do not understand you, Vicky,"
"I think Kyle had a conversation with Alex and Sandra, that could be the reason why he conducted the test," Vicky told me.
"Oh no!" I exclaimed, I have never thought about it like this.
"You could be right, Vicky," I said giving it a thought now.
"I told Kyle that I have a husband, maybe he asked the kids about their dad, oh no, my poor kids, Kyle must have gotten the clue from my kids,"
"That could be it, Kim, that could be the only reason for him to suspect," Vicky told me and I agree with her.
"Again, his blood matched Alex's blood, son of a b*tch," I said out loud.
"Do not worry about him taking Alex-Sandra away, cause that will never happen," Vicky told me again placing her arms around my shoulder.
"Thanks, Vicky," I told her feeling relieved now that I have spoken to her.
"Don't mention, Kim," she told me, "I think I should get back to work before anyone notices my absence," she added.
"Alright, Vicky, thanks again," I told her, as we hugged each other briefly.
"I will see you when I close from work, okay," Vicky told me when we walked to the front door.
"Okay, bye," I said waving her goodbye.
I walked back to Alex-Sandra's room to find them both still fast asleep.
Thank goodness they stayed up late last night, at least it saved them from witnessing the drama of today, I said within me...
