Kimberly Brown's POV.

"Take it easy, Kimberly, don't let what happened back there affect you, what you should be concerned bout now is your son's health," Katy told me, when her friend that came to pick her up pulled over by the hospital where Alex is being hospitalized.

We didn’t say anything to each other on our way here, I guess she noticed how angry I am at that those two, Sonia and Kyle.

"The nerve of that Sonia, who does she think she is?" I said almost to myself.

"Don't let it bother you, the most important thing now is that you are out of there, you can be with your kids..."

"And what does she mean by what she said about giving my family money," I muttered to myself interrupting Katy.

"For what we know, she may be making that up because of the reporters, that lady can say anything that comes to her mind as long as it gives credit to her name, and besides I don't see receiving money from them to be a problem, if I were in your shoes, I won't hesitate to collect whatever they give to me provided it's good, so stop bugging yourself about it," Katy told me.

"Well, I do not want their money," I blurted out opening the car door, I'm angry at what Katy just said.

I know Vicky will not receive money from those people without informing me first, I don't know about Jimmy, but I hope so was only making that up as Katy first insinuated.

"Calm down Kimberly, anyway I've got your number I'll get in touch, bye for now," she said.

"Okay, bye," I said turning towards the hospital as their car drove off again.

I need to go to my son Alex now, I've been uneasy since I was told he woke up, I would have given Vicky or Jimmy as soon as I got out but my phone battery is flat.

I practically ran into the hospital and headed straight to my son's ward after talking to a nurse in the lobby and signing in on the hospital log book.

"Oh my goodness, Kim," Vicky cried the moment I came into Alex's ward I guess she was surprised to see me.

"How did you get out?" She asked after giving me a quick hug.

"How is Alex doing?" I asked ignoring her, I need to know how my son is doing first, I have been uneasy since I heard he's awake, "What happened to him? I thought you said he's awake, why is he still like this?" I asked looking from Vicky to Jimmy.

"Don't worry, Kim, he's just asleep he's been awake for some time now, Alex is going to be okay," Vicky said taking my hand.

"Thank goodness he's awake," I said touching Alex's body, "what did doctor Sam say? Has he come to check up on him? Did he say Alex will be fine? I asked Vicky simultaneously looking into her face.

"He is going to be fine Kim, you don't need to get yourself all worked up, Alex will be fine okay, everything we'll be fine," Vicky told me

"Sandra, Where is Sandra?" I asked turning to face Vicky, I've forgotten briefly about Sandra because of my worry for Alex.

"She’s asleep, Kim," Jimmy said gesturing for me to see her sleeping on his laps, I didn't take note of Sandra when I came into the ward.

"Oh my poor baby, I'm so sorry," I said kissing her on the forehead.

"What happened to you, Kim? How did you get out? Did Sonia come to her senses?" Vicky asked all at once.

"I guess she did, that's why she's here away," Jimmy said, looking from Vicky to me.

"Oh no, Jimmy, that's not it, you can't believe what that Sonia did to me, she and that Kyle, I was completely humiliated by those two," I told them, getting angry again, as I recalled what had happened to me earlier.

"What? What did you say?" Vicky asked.

"You heard me, Vicky, that b*tch Sonia and Kyle came to me and asked me to apologize to Sonia before letting me go,"

"What did you say?" Jimmy asked, I think he can feel what I felt when they first told me that.

"You heard me, Jimmy, I wouldn't have done it if not for my son Alex, I wouldn't have done it, Vicky, if not for my longing to be with my kids," I told them, feeling very angry.

"The nerve of that woman," Jimmy said angrily, I can see that Vicky is angry too,

"That reminds me, did you take money from them?" I asked recalling what Sonia said to me in front of the reporters, "Did you, Vicky, answer me, why are you so quiet? Did you take money from them?" I asked a little furious this time.

"Yes Kim, I did." She replied rather slowly.

"What? You did what? how could you take money from those people?" I snapped at Vicky.

"Keep it down, Kim, this is a hospital," Jimmy told me.

"Are you in on this?" I asked turning to Jimmy.

"Look, it's not what you think, Kim, look on the bright side," Jimmy said.

"I did it for you, Kim, you and I know that you don't have enough money, neither do I, how are you going to take care of your kids, especially Alex medical bills, you need the money, Kim, that's why I took it, even though I knew you were going to be mad, but it's for the best anyway," Vicky said rather calmly.

"You shouldn't have, Vicky, "I said angrily.

"Calm down, Kim," Jimmy said.

"Don't tell me to calm down, she knew how much I despise that man, how can she take money from his family, now giving that b*tch the right to humiliate me the way she did, you needed to see how she spoke to me, Jimmy, you too Vicky,". I told them, "And what was that she said again?" I asked out loud, trying to recall what she told me that made me lose it.

"Sonia told me to count Alex's accident as a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to get money from their family,"

"What? She said that?" Jimmy asked, and I nodded in response.

"She did, Jimmy, that's why I would have appreciated it if you didn't take their money at all.

"I did it for you, Kim, you shouldn't let her behavior bother you, what's important is the welfare of your kids and besides it's about time that Kyle take responsibility you know," Vicky said staring at me.

"No, Vicky you shouldn't have, I told you before, my kids are mine alone, and I do not need the support of anyone to take care of my kids,"

"Well that's not the case now, Kim you need this money, Kyle's older brother Brian was here earlier, he asked us to leave this Hospital, we should take Alex somewhere else as it is not going to be good for their families image that's when he presented this cheque, I had no choice but to take it, Kim, besides it is a huge sum, enough to change your life and the life of your kids forever," Vicky said.

"I don't need it," I snapped furiously at Vicky, "You know what? Give it back, give the cheque to me, I need to return it right this minute,"

"You don't need to do that Kim, I will not let you," Vicky told me rather calmly.

"I said give it to me, Vicky, I'll take care of Alex myself," I said in clenched teeth.

"You need to calm down Kim," Jimmy said, "Why don't you look at it this way, that Kyle is still paying for your son's treatment just the way he is paying here," he added.

"No, Jimmy, I don't want to, I just need to return the money to them, besides I have already made up my mind to take my son away from this hospital after Sonia's statement and attitude towards me."

"Are you serious, Kim? how are you going to do that all by yourself?" Vicky asked.

"That's enough, Vicky, just give the cheque to me," I said again stretching my hands.

"Okay, Kim, if that's what you want," Vicky said producing the cheque.

"Pease take care of my kids, I'll be right back," I said, and with that, I walked out of Alex's Ward.
