It "Going out Kyle?" Sonia asked immediately I walked out of my room, I almost bumped into her and I guess she is coming to my room to give me yet another episode of her trouble, "what is she still doing here?" I asked within me, ignoring her question.

"I asked you a question, Kyle?" She asked again, grabbing my arm in a way to stop me.

"What is your problem, Sonia? What has where I am going to got to do with you?" I asked turning furiously to face her.

"What's the matter with you, Kyle? Why do you always find a way to turn everything I say to you into a fight?" I only asked a simple question, you don't have to ignore me..." Sonia snapped at me.

"I have the right to choose not to reply to any question thrown at me especially if the question is not relevant to me, by the way, what are you still doing here?" I asked, glaring at her.

"What sort of question is that? I am your fiancée, I would want to spend some time with you, so if you're going out maybe I should probably tag along, I mean you don't make time for me." She said folding her arms under her breasts and staring at me.

"I did not invite you here, did I?" I asked as I furrowed my brows at her, because of what she has just said, I can't possibly take her out with me when what I wanted is for her to disappear from my life.

"It doesn’t matter Kyle, I am here anyway." She said to me.

"You must be out of your mind." I said and then, turned around and started walking again.

"Take me with you, Kyle, let's try and work things out." She said walking behind me.

"Go away Sonia, I don't have time for this." I said, without turning to look at her, I just need to get out of this place already.

"Kyle... I'm coming with you Kyle before you repeat the mistake of last time..." She said walking close to me.

"Don't you ever bring that up..." I said turning around immediately to face her again which made her shut up at once, I guess she saw the furious look on my face.

I hated to be reminded of the incident especially by her, she was the real reason behind that incident years ago, and how dare she try to mock me with it.

"Get away from me Sonia, or I may be forced to lose it, I don't want to have anything to do with you, so please just leave me alone," I said to her trying my best to control myself and then, turned around again walking towards my car which is a few steps away from me.

"I am stock to you like glue Kyle, and you will never get rid of me, the earlier you know that the better for both of us." She shouted after me.

I entered my car and drove off almost immediately, I’m so tired of my dad dictating my life for me, if not for him I'd probably not be in this mess with Sonia.

“Why didn't the heavens give Brian an heir, if it has, I wouldn't be caught up in this situation, I mean my life has been going on smoothly up until now except for one error of my past.” I think.

That one error which has been hunting me for years, and if not for Sonia, I’d probably be in my right sense that day, and now of all the women in our society, dad wants me to get married to Sonia.

I stepped on the car, increasing the speed as I recalled again all that had happened that night and all the shitty things I have endured for the sake of pleasing dad these past few months, the anger swelling inside of me...

“Oh, Shit...” I screamed as I suddenly spotted a child right in front of me in the middle of the road.

Boom!

My car ran into him before it could come to a stop.

I really did not see him coming, or rather, it's because of my thoughts and I am driving at a very high speed that I did not see the child in time...

Although I did all that I could to stop the car in time, but I guess it was too late, I even thought of turning the car away from him but I couldn't make it in time...

I stepped out of my car feeling dazzled, a few people have gathered around the child already, and a lady is bent over him crying and I am guessing it's the mother of the child.

“Oh no! What have I done?” I exclaimed and asked within me, looking at the child on the ladies lap.

“Alex... Alex...?” the lady cried, I quickly bent over the child and picked him away from the lady the moment I realized that he still has life, and then brought him to my car, as that was the next action that came to my mind, the lady and another little girl whom I presume will be the lady’s daughter got into my car too.

I drove off again immediately as I need to bring the boy to a hospital, I dialed my doctor's number to alert him of my coming.

"Pick up..." I said impatiently, as the phone started ringing.

“Hello, Doctor Sam.” I said, immediately he answered my call, looking briefly in the car mirror in front of me to see the lady and the kids in the back seat.

The lady is still holding the boy crying and calling out his name, the little girl too... I can see that she is dazzled and she doesn't seem to be in her right mind.

“I have been in an accident doctor,...I accidentally knocked a child down... it's critical, please be ready, am only a few minutes away.” I said to the doctor and then stepped on the car again, increasing the speed so much this time because all I wanted is to get this child to the hospital as soon as possible.

I heard to call my doctor so that he will be ready to receive the boy immediately after I arrive at the hospital as this is an emergency case.

“Alex... Alex... wake up...” I heard the little girl say before I stepped out of the car.

Doctor Sam and some nurses are already waiting for us, they rushed over to the car and carried the boy in a stretcher into the hospital while I followed behind, together with the lady and the little girl.

“Aunty Vicky where are they taking Alex? will he be alright?” I heard the little child say to the lady.

“Yes pumpkin, he’s going to be alright.” The lady replied the little girl holding her in an embrace.

“Hold on dear, I need to call your mum.” The lady said to the little girl, who turned and stared at me steadily and I wonder why she's staring at me like that.

"So she's not the mum." I said within me, wondering what the mum of the little boy will say or do to me and the dad too.

The lady also stared at me, our eyes met and I can see the fears in them, I looked away immediately praying in my heart for the child’s survival as that's what's more important right now...
