Chapter 14: Chapter 14

“Ethan…” my lips formed into uncontrollable sobs. Ethan blinked, then he smiled when our eyes locked. Bobby was still wagging his tail, trying to catch Ethan’s attention fixated on mine. I dropped my vision to the ground, putting the strands of my hair behind my ear. The way he stares at me sends shivers throughout my whole system, even though this isn’t the first time Ethan looked at me.

There was something in his eyes that would make your knees weak. He’s more…effulgent looking, and there was this positive atmosphere that’s lurking around him. He suddenly spread his arms, motioning for me to hug him.

“Ethan…” I called his name, and I suddenly broke down. I covered my face with my palms, sobbing. Bobby stopped barking, and he snagged his head on my lap, asking why even though Ethan was already awake. They wouldn’t understand how thankful I am for this miracle. I was crying with delight. As if a thorn had been pulled out of my heart, making everything feel light, the burden I was carrying departed now.

“ETHAN!” I jumped above him, crying on the nook of his neck. Ethan chuckled, caressing my back gently, trying to calm me down because my sobs turned into wails of emotions. I couldn’t control it. Everything we have been put through together, every questioning and tribulations, it was paid off well.

“You have been calling my name three times in a row now,” he giggled, then kissed the side of my head. Who wouldn’t be happy to call his name after I almost killed him?

“B-but…how? I broke the jar, and the blood was scattered on the floor….”

“Natasha, look at me and listen carefully.” he grabbed my shoulders and turned me around to face him. I swallowed when our noses brushed against each other. I caught Bobby sitting down, listening attentively to his Dad.

“You save my life. You’re the one who broke my curse,” he muttered, then rested his chin on his right shoulder, angling his head to stare at my face cautiously. He raised his hand to touch my cheek and remove the tears that were already dried. His smile reached both the corner of his eyes.

“You free me, Natasha, from the curse of my ancestors. With that, I will offer you, my eternal love.” Ethan removed his hands from my face, then he bowed down on the ground, his head touching the floors. I suddenly panicked because he didn’t need to do this.

“E-Ethan! That’s not-”

“Please, let me do this, my love. Let me show you my respect and how thankful I am to you.” his voice broke slightly. He was crying for a different reason.

“Even though earlier, there was no proposition of chances to survive alone because one drop of blood wasn’t enough to break the curse. Still, you chose to be here with me and fight until I woke up. If it weren’t for you. Natasha, I would be dead by now. If it weren’t for your love and faith for me, I would be with my ancestors and with my family…I just killed.” Ethan mumbled before sitting up straight.

His head was lowered, and I know he was thinking about all of those innocent lives he killed just because Ethan figured he would live as a monster and die as a monster. I sighed, then took his hand and brought it to my lips. I place a gentle kiss on the back of his hand, closing my eyes.

“Everything happens for a reason, Ethan. You can not bring back those lost lives. That’s the truth, and it hurts, I know. You will think you will forever carry this burden in your heart when you’re actually a victim, Ethan. You have a good heart and great soul in there. Your family had treated you like a monster, so you responded to be one. Your trauma response drove you to be a killer when the inner child in you is stopping you.”

“You didn’t intend all of these things to happen. You are tied upon a curse that most people wouldn’t understand. But please, remember that if the world turns its back on you, you still have me here. I will be forever your wife by heart. I love you that much, Ethan, eternally.”

When I opened my eyes, Ethan suddenly jumped and hugged me tightly. We dropped to the floor and stared at each other’s eyes before bursting into laughter. Bobby joined us, and we hugged one another like a complete family being hatched again. I closed my eyes, praying silently that our story would continue to our everyday life in the city. Now that Ethan’s curse is broken and he can not turn into a werewolf again, everything is set.

“What’s this?”

I glanced at Ethan when he gestured at something. Now that I realized, he was wearing a necklace, and it was a symbol of fangs, just like what I saw in the flashback.

“I don’t know…but have you met your ancestors in the spirit domain?” I asked while caressing and tracing his chest. Ethan was quiet for a minute before he sighed, then nodded.

“Yeah, they all look different. The pack was indigenous-looking that was way back from decades or centuries, I think. They weren’t saying anything, but there was a portal, and I saw myself from the mortal.”

Ethan played with my hair and then kissed my forehead. We are now lying on the bed. Both of us are naked. We just finished making love, and he’s now squeezing me between his arms.

“But…I saw my different version. I was standing there, looking at my other wolf form. It was also staring directly into my soul, watching me closely. That was the first time I saw how terrifying my wolf form is and how hideous it was.”

Ethan looked down, groping my breast on his palm. I whimpered but let him. It’s not like we don’t do this often.

“However, a part of me was…missing when I let go of him after these years.”

Ethan mumbled, then he buried his face in my neck. He sniffed my sense, sending tickles on my body, but I did not startle. Instead, I just let him caress his back head. I kissed his forehead and then let him rest on my body. I understand the struggle he had been through, and now that the curse had finally broken, something was plucked out a part of him. We can not deny that the beast has been a part of him.

I stare at the windows, watching how the sun has risen after staying awake for hours and overthinking. I let Ethan rest beside me since he needs it. I let out a convulsive breath and then decided to get up. I saw Bobby sleeping peacefully on the catch. I beamed at the sight and searched for some clothes to cover my bareness.

When I finally found a dress, I wore it and tied my hair into a bun. I walked to the door and was about to open it when I peeked to see Ethan’s peaceful sleep one last time. I stood there, and since the windows were open, the wind got inside and blew some strands of my hair. I saw a leaf go inside, and it dropped on the bed beside Ethan’s face. Something snapped inside my head.

For the first time, he was sleeping soundly. His eyebrows were always formed in a straight line whenever he closed his eyes. There is always a dense ambiance encompassing his aura but compared to right now, everything feels different. His lips were slightly parted, and he had the rest he genuinely merit.

Oh, my sweet Ethan. Rest there. I will prepare your meal. I left the room and went straight to the kitchen. While I was busy making soup, I couldn’t help but think about everything about his ancestors. It’s cool to know Ethan’s family comes from the werewolves. Probably one of his parents has a twin, and Ethan’s parents didn’t possess the curse. Unfortunately, the curse was passed down to Ethan.

Ethan told me the insignificant details of his childhood. However, I know there was an incubus that is still haunting him now. There is still a disastrous event that happened to him during his younger years. Instead of approaching those problems, he used them to terminate those around him. I’m worried about his mental health because he might undergo depression. Still, whatever may come, I will stay beside him and help him conquer it.

“Someone’s thinking deeply.”

I felt a pair of hands wrapped around my waist and pulled my buttocks closer to his crotch. I felt his hard junior poking on my butt cheeks, making my cheeks redden in embarrassment. I turned around and slapped his hands away. Ethan chuckled but ducked his head.

“Don’t ever do that! We just made love last night, Ethan. Please…” I rolled my eyes and went back to cooking. While steering, I felt Ethan look at the container and sniff it. He closed his eyes and then rested his chin on my shoulder, squeezing my body. Ethan doesn’t want to let go of me! I forgot how clingy he is.

“I can fuck you here while you’re cooking,” he mumbled sexily in my ear, then sank his teeth into it. I bit the tip of my tongue, suppressing myself from following him this time. My legs were still sore from his deep pounding last night. There were red marks all over my upper body, and the tight walls between my legs were still shaking from the orgasm I had. It’s still sensitive, but I couldn’t just allow him to fuck me here. It’s inappropriate!

“Sit there and behave,” I told him while glaring. Ethan was about to protest, but I pointed the spatula towards the table. By hook or by crook, he should listen to me. Ethan understood what I meant because he sighed in disbelief and then sat on the chair, crossing his arms while looking away.

Bobby barked and came downstairs, running towards the kitchen. He landed on his lap then they both looked happy while playing with each other. I stopped from what I was doing and stared at them for minutes. Something is caressing my soul softly from the sight.

This is the life I achieved.
