Chapter 70: Chapter 70

It seems to me Ethan didn't accept these accusations coming from Charm since he went berserk suddenly. He let go of her and howled like a ravenous creature ready to attack its prey. I yelled. I was about to stop him when he smacked my face, causing me to drop almost unconscious. My vision became blurry, and my body went numb from the pain.

"E-ethan..." I winced and tried to get up, but it was no use. My hands were shaking, and I couldn't control my lower body muscles to push myself to get up. I heard voices and wails coming from Charm. It was displeasing to hear. It will give you miseries, and I couldn't help her because I was too fragile to move!

I couldn't see them, but I could vividly imagine what Ethan was doing to her in my head. I could feel my heart hammering inside my chest. It was loud and quick until I couldn't hear anything anymore aside from it. I looked down at my hands and then gripped them.

"Ethan! Stopped what you are doing!" I pushed my body to get up, even if I could feel my legs were giving up on me. I gritted my jaw and went to their side to stop him from strangling Charm!

"Ethan!" my voice echoed when I called his name throughout the forest. However, he didn't cease as if he didn't hear anything. I stomped my way to cross the gap between us and held his shoulder. I turned him around to face him, but I was shocked when I saw his mouth covered with blood.

My first intuition was to push him and then maneuver away in blemish. Instead, I was pinned down on the ground, and Ethan was on top of me. He was ready to devour me alive in just a blink when he stopped and saw my tears coming out of my eyes.

My vision reflected in him, and I saw myself in his pupil. I could see my face looking terrified and wanting to sprint away from him. We stayed still in our spot, looking at each other's souls, when we heard a clamorous screeching noise. We both looked up from the sky, seeing how gloomy the atmosphere was. We both stayed there until something dropped on my forehead. Ethan slowly looked down at my face, his fur was bedraggled, and his eyes were confused all of a sudden.

Second, third...until numerous droplets of rain poured down on us. Ethan suddenly shifted to his standard human form then he shielded his back to protect me from the raindrops coursing down on us. I glanced at Ethan and saw no expression was painted on his face.

His eyes looked dead, and the blood covering his lips was already wiped out due to the rain. He's alive but dead at the same time.

I gradually looked Charm's way just to see her lifeless body lying on the cold ground. I don't know how to react to this since I was just talking to her earlier, and now she has no pulse.

"I'm sorry."

A rumble of thunder bellowed in the sky, making me shriek in terror. I felt his hands traveling down through my shoulders, then he slowly leaned his face closer. I thought he was going to kiss me, but he just rested his face on the nook of my neck, inhaling my scent.

"I ruined everything, again." he was anguished as I felt his jaw gritting. I didn't say anything and just let him rant about all the pain he felt. A raindrop fell off my eyes, making me shut them close. I was getting cold as the wind was blowing brutally, making my whole system shudder.

"My wrath got the best of me again. I couldn't see anything but flames and madness. I was at my limit. I couldn't accept everything I found out about my life. I felt like it was just making a fool out of myself. That even my existence was a fool."

After that, he stopped speaking. His shoulder shook, and I felt a sharp object pierced through my heart when I heard him sniffing close to my ear. I know it was raining, I could feel the drip and the harsh screams of the sky, but I also know the soft droplets streaming down my neck to my cheeks were his tears.

"All my life, I thought I was hideous. I was misfortunate to be born like this. I felt that nothing I could do about it, so I had no other choice but to embrace it and accept that I was a hideous beast."

"But why is life always so unfair when everything is already too late? Why give me a fucking cure when I already embraced who I was? Now that it is in front of me, the chance to become normal like the rest of you, I destroyed it again! It's like life doesn't want me to have the peace I fucking deserve!"

He looked up from the sky. His face was wet from the rain. Its droplets poured down from his forehead, down to his adam's apple bobbing up and down since he was screaming. He punched the air, then shuffled his hair in frustration.

"E-ethan." I tried to calm him down, take his hand and tell him everything was going to be alright, but he didn't let me.

"WHAT DID I EVEN DO TO SUFFER LIKE THIS? WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME? I KNOW I HAVE DONE SOMETHING HORRIBLE IN THE PAST YEARS, BUT I WAS CHANGING! I WAS COMPLETELY CHANGING! EVER SINCE I MET NATASHA, I KNOW I WANTED TO CHANGE MYSELF!"

Then he suddenly dropped his face to the ground, and his fist continued to punch. He continued to holler and mourn. His body continued to tremble, and this time he couldn't stop his emotions from bursting out.

"I fucking hate my life...this is unforgivable, and truly not everything you begged for will be given to you."

We stayed there under the freezing droplets of rain for many seconds, minutes until it went to hours. It was getting cold, and my body was already shivering due to the wind frittering. Nevertheless, that didn't stop Ethan from embracing me and protecting me. The thunder bellowed once again, making my ears deaf. I studied the sky, taking my time to reminisce about my past life when I chose to be with Ethan and not my freedom. I smiled bitterly to myself, realizing something.

"You're right, Ethan,"

I slowly pushed him away then I sat on the ground with him. His eyes spoke millions of words to me, asking what I meant. I didn't say anything for a while and just watched his reaction. He didn't do anything against my will, but I saw misery inside his confusing gaze, and I continued.

"You're misfortunate. You are the most destructible human I have met. I could choose someone better than you. That would give me a better life and a greater chance to fulfill all I needed and wanted."

Ethan gritted his teeth, looking in disbelief and throwing his hands at all I had said when I put my finger above his lips. He shut up bur furrowed his forehead, confused. I smiled at him, then gradually looked up from the sky. I didn't care if the drops were pouring on my eyes, making it difficult to see clearly. Instead of fighting the rain, I embrace it.

"Looked at the rain, Ethan. It's crying, getting along with how we both felt right now. But just like our emotions, they could burst out. We can not control the environment, just as how we can control ourselves whenever there is an intense emotion rushing in our system."

I looked at him, whose eyes didn't leave my face. I kneeled then held both of his cheeks, my eyes never in contact. My lips curved up, stroking his flesh. Ethan looked up when I rested my forehead on him, taking this time to be with him.

"If I was given a chance to choose another lifetime, I wouldn't hesitate to look for you, Ethan."

"Yes, you are challenging to handle. You only listen to yourself. You don't care about anyone when you are enraged, but I still love Ethan. I am not scared to say this, but I love a monster like you. Yes, Ethan Ajax Davis. I love your imperfections and will keep loving you until I die."

Ethan was stunned to say anything after I had delivered those words to him for the past minutes. After blinking, he suddenly stood up, then offered his hand to me. I took it without saying anything. When we both got up, he suddenly crashed his lips, consuming my whole lips. I gasped for air, wrapping my hands around his neck since my knees went frail.

"I love you too, Natasha," he whispered when he let go of me. His eyes were speaking million of words to me. I smiled then we settled to get out of this place.

"Wait," Ethan let go of my hand and went inside the cabin. I waited for him, taking my time from the cold. I looked at the two, Charm and Chanel. I paused when I saw Chanel wasn't a wolf anymore. I peeked to see her face. She looked like a goddess sleeping soundly on the ground.

I kneeled down and prayed for her soul. Wherever they are, I just hope Charm and Chanel saw each other and were happy in each other's arms.

"Let's go."

I looked back at Ethan and saw he was carrying Bobby. I almost forgot about him again. Bobby looked okay now, but not bubbly like before.

"I hid him inside the cabin, away from everyone's sight." then he tapped bobby's head. Tells him he's a good boy for not making any commotion while the family was still alive.

"What now?" I asked him, then motioned to the area. Ethan followed my arms and then breathed out a loud sigh.

"We will clean this place, then move away from here."
