Chapter 60: Chapter 60

“Here, have this.” Michael said handing Lora a cup of coffee. They have become each others companion since they started dating, it's either Michael is at Lora’s place or she is at his place.

“Thank you.” Lora replied, taking the cup of coffee from him. She have never felt alive as she has been since she met and became Michael's girlfriend.

“Can I ask you something?” Michael asked, sitting on the bed beside Lora, he is also holding a cup of coffee in his hands.

They are in his apartment, they went to see a movie yesterday evening and decided to spend the night together in Michael's apartment.

Lora woke up this morning, frightened again by her nightmare, although she hadn't had that in days since She started hanging out with Michael, but she is surprised that She had the nightmare again today.

“Yes, go ahead.” She replied and took a sip of coffee from the cup of coffee in her hands, feeling a bit relaxed, she is more relaxed because She woke up and saw Michael.

“What kind of nightmares do you have? And why do you call out Mama, in your sleep?” Michael asked, sitting beside her on the bed.

She has told Michael about her experience with her ex boyfriend and her best friend, when he had asked her why she came to this city, but what she haven't told him yet is the challenges she have in her family.

“It's nothing really.” She replied. The last thing she wants is to make him feel sorry for her. “It's just a nightmare.” She added and the sipped her coffee again.

“Are you sure?” Michael asked looking at her intensively. “...cause it sounded like it's really something important to you, I mean, it's like it's not just an ordinary nightmare.” Michael continued, still looking at her.

“Its nothing, am sure of it.” Lora said, shrugging her shoulders.

“Okay.” Michael replied, and sipped his coffee. He didn't want to press on, but he has a hunch that it's not just a nightmare as there might be something more to it.

“What about your parents? You've not told me anything about your parents.” He asked after a while, but before Lora could answer the question her phone rang.

“Excuse me.” Lora said as she picked up the phone, that was lying on the bed.

“Hello Grandma.” She said as she answered the phone.

“Sweetie.” Grandma Rosa said over the phone.

“Grandma Rosa are you okay?” Lora asked sensing how weak are voice sounded.

“I’m fine dear, I called to ask a favour from you.” Grandma Rosa said, still sounding weak.

“What is it Grandma? Is there a problem?” she asked feeling a little agitated.

“It's nothing dear, I just want you to come home, there's something I would like to discuss with you and it's not something I can say over the phone.” Grandma Rosa said.

“Grandma?” Lora said as she unconsciously turned to look at Michael who was looking at her too, not knowing how to convince her grandma to say what the problem is.

“Please come home child.” Grandma Rosa said pleadingly.

“Okay Grandma.” Lora said and then hung up.

“Is there a problem?” Michael asked, looking at her worried face.

“I don't know, she didn't say.” Lora said as she shrugged her shoulders. “I'll have to book a flight back home immediately, my grandma sounded like there's a huge problem, I just hope nobody died this time.” Lora said, looking at Michael, her face tuning pale at the thought of someone dying.

“Hey how do you mean?” Michael asked seeing how pale her face suddenly looked.

“Yes, the last time she called me like this, someone had died, Uncle Antonio.” She said, her eyes widening with fear.

“It's okay, don't get yourself worked up, you don't know why she called yet, maybe she's just missing you.” He replied, trying to calm her down, this is the first time she said something about her family to him, he didn't know she had an uncle who died.

“I'll go with you, if you want me to.” He added, stroking her hair.

“You will?” Lora asked, looking into his eyes, she is a surprised that he offered to go with her, Alfredo would not do a thing like that.

“Yeah, sure, if you don't mind.” He said, still stroking her head, if only she knew how much love he has for her and he is not ready to let her go, besides he would miss her very much.

“Okay, I'll book a flight for two, then.” Lora said feeling very excited, at least she would not have to miss him, she thought.

"Flight for two? I can book my own flight." Michael said, making a funny face.

"Oh no, you don't have to." Lora replied, and smiled at his funny face.

She gave him a peck and with that, she stood up from the bed and went to the bathroom, Michael followed behind.
