Chapter 400: Chapter 400
Chapter 400 Veteran
Rachel felt nothing but resent towards Archer. She wanted to cry so much, but she knew that she couldn't give up just like that.
"Mr. Elmer, if you can't keep your promise, I'll terminate Fay's contract!" Rachel told Archer through a message.
By this time, Archer was sitting in the office while drinking tea with Glenn.
"Look at her, Mr. Glenn. She practically threatened me that Fay herself will terminate the cooperation if I don't give her that promotion." Archer laughed as he put down his teacup, picked up the phone and showed Glenn what Rachel told him.
After reading Rachel's message, Glenn smiled: "She's really naΓ―ve. She thought that Faye is truly interested in cooperating with her, but Fay actually signed the contract for money."
"Rachel isn't useful anymore, so I think I'll just fire her if she keeps sending me threats like these." Archer joked.
"Oh, and don't forget to treat me tonight." Glenn smiled.
Of course, Archer simply nodded and smiled back.
Ever since Glenn came as the vice president, he was even more comfortable than before. He was once a secretary of Betty Carter, but he was favored for being a hard worker. Thus, he became a vice president of their branch.
Archer, however, knew why Glenn turned out to be a vice president, so he didn't actually believe in Glenn at all.
But the thing about Glenn was that he was practically a celebrity when it came to the Carter family. That alone made Archer want to side with him, even for just a little longer.
After a while, Archer forgot all about Rachel's demands and simply shrugged it off.
Meanwhile, Rachel was angry because Archer couldn't keep the end of his promise.
"It's no unfair! Me and Leon practically worked hard just to get Fay attend the appointment and sign the contract." She murmured.
Suddenly, Rachel remembered that she could rely on Leon for help and went straight to him when she headed for the exit.
Leon was simply sitting in the back of the Rolls-Royce and Rachel eventually found him. When she explained the situation to Leon, he simply looked at her as if he expected it.
Tina, on the other hand, was anxious. She didn't want her sister's hard work to end in vain.
"I can't believe that they'd give all the credit to themselves, Rachel. Don't they have any shame?!" Tina shouted, as if she wanted both Glenn and Archer to hear her.
"Actually, the situation's easy to solve." Leon told Tina. "Just like Rachel said, she just has to terminate Fay."
"But Fay sighed a contract with my sister's company, right? She can't just terminate Fay like that." Tina bewilderedly said.
"Rachel has the right to do so." Leon calmly responded.
Suddenly, the idea dawned on Rachel.
"Actually Tina, Leon's right. I signed the contract with my own name, and it was alongside Fay's signature, so I have the right to terminate it whenever I want." Rachel said.
It was when she finally understood why Leon made her sign the contract with her own name. It was as if he predicted everything that happened so far, and that made Rachel happy.
"Are you sure?" Tina said, surprise evident on her face. "I'm so happy! Your efforts won't be for nothing, Rachel!"
"Yes, thanks to Leon." Rachel took a glance at Leon and smiled. She then reminded herself how cruel the people were in the company she worked for.
Tina suddenly thought of something and asked a question. "If Rachel terminates Fay's contract, that'll mean that Rachel has to pay for the trouble she caused Fay, right?
"Don't worry, Tina. I'll take care of Rachel." Leon said calmly
"You really think that you're as amazing as you think you are, don't you? Tina said as she glared at Leon. "Look, I don't trust you just yet. I don't want to cling onto false hope."
"What the hell, Tina? I already said that I'll take care of her. Tell me one thing you've done to help Rachel then. Also, I keep my promises. If I say that Rachel won't have to pay anything, she won't have to pay anything. It's as simple as that." Leon rolled his eyes once again.
"Oh sure, just keep bragging about all your wisdom. It's not like that'll actually help my sister."
Leon simply sighed. He just wished that Tina would shut up for once.
When Leon got back home at 7 o'clock in the evening, he immediately arranged plans for Rachel.
"Hugo, tell Fay that if Rachel terminates the contract, she shouldn't hold her accountable. If she does what I tell her to do, tell her that she'll be an even bigger influence in Texas' film and television resources. However, if she disagrees, tell her that I'll ban her from being an influencer in Texas." Leon told Hugo.
Hugo simply nodded and followed Leon's orders.
Leon didn't like the fact that Rachel was being treated poorly, so he'll make sure to have Glenn and Archer begging on their knees to none other than Rachel herself.
After a little while, Fay received the message that she got from Flying Group's president and was shocked.
Not to mention, Leon also told her that she shouldn't hold Rachel accountable, which made Fay furious.
However, she tried to calm herself down and thought about the situation rationally.
Since Fay couldn't escape her fate, she simply agreed.
Meanwhile, Glenn was having a drink with Archer somewhere in Texas and they were celebrating their victory.
After all, they thought that they had Rachel at the palm of their hands.
"Mr. Glenn, how much do you think the head office will give us this time? Are we going to be rich?" Archer laughed.
"Who knows? Maybe they'll even give us a chance to make our houses into a villa!" Glenn laughed as well.
Suddenly, they received the kind of news they hadn't expected at all.
Glenn and Archer found out that the contact was signed in Rachel's name and the two men were furious.
"I can't believe we were set up by Rachel. What the fuck is going on?!" Archer shouted.
Glenn slammed his hand on the table in fury and stood up. "I knew Rachel wasn't simply an ordinary girl. She backed us into a corner, Archer! She's clearly a veteran at this!"
