Chapter 394: Chapter 394
Chapter 394 Expensive Wine
As soon as Rachel received the good news coming from Leon himself, she almost cried tears of joy.
She hadn't expected that Leon would be able to do the job so soon. It had only been a few minutes, after all.
Tina, however, was not very happy to see Leon.
"Rachel, I think he's here to order some fancy meals. This restaurant is well-known for its expensive meals, after all." Tina mocked Leon.
After Leon heard Tina say some absurd things about him, he simply laughed. "if you want your sister to be happy that she finally got the promotion and raise she asked for, shut up and talk less." Leon said as he gave Tina a look of disappointment.
"I'm sure you'll be punished by your actions soon, Leon. How dare you deceive someone as pure-hearted as my sister?!" Tina fumed in anger.
"How did I deceive Rachel, exactly?" Leon simply looked at her, bewildered. "Fay will be here in a few minutes, just like what I said earlier. Didn't I say that I'll take care of things for her too?"
"If you can really help my sister, then I want you to get down on your knees and kneel for me!" Tina smirked.
"You lost the bet last time, Tina. Are you sure you want to bet on it this time?" Leon said with a sneer.
"I just wanted to bet on it. Is that so wrong, Leon?" Tina said as she felt that her confidence was coming back to her. Although she knew in the back of her mind that she stood no chance against Leon, she knew that she couldn't just simply give up.
"I haven't lost yet, you know?" Tina added.
"You're going to lose soon." Leon said as he mentally facepalmed. It wasn't the time for games and yet Tina expected that she'd win the bet anyway, which was absurd.
As Leon put his own thoughts aside, he began to glance at the dishes people were eating, as well as the wine.
"The food isn't that bad, so I'll order some wine." Leon said as he murmured to himself.
However, Leon wasn't an ordinary person who simply liked red wine.
He then waved to the nearest waiter.
"What can I do for you, sir?" The waiter asked as he approached Leon's table.
"I'd like a bottle of Romanee Conti and the 2011 Grand Esther Red." Leon responded. He knew a variety of wine and he certainly wasn't ashamed of it, no matter how expensive they were.
"Sir, the 2011 Grand Esther Red isn't available in our wine cellar. Please order another bottle." The waiter explained patiently.
"I want you to ask your boss what's available, and give it to me, then." Leon retorted.
"Of course, sir. Wait just a moment." With that, the waiter left.
Tina was disgruntled. "Leon, who told you to order red wine? it's already on the table. Why don't you want it?"
"That wine isn't exactly what I'd call tasty."
"It doesn't matter if it tastes good or not. Have you ever considered my sister's well-being at all? How much was the bottle you ordered, anyway?" Tina asked.
"It's not that expensive, you know. It's only $38,000." Leon said calmly.
When Tina heard the price, her jaw almost dropped. "Wait, what?! I want you to return that wine immediately!"
"Return what? the meal is on me. We'll simply just wait for Fay while tasting red wine."
"Leon, are you absolutely sure you're not kidding? A bottle of red wine that you ordered costed $38,000. That's more than the money that Rachel had to pay for her appointment with Fay! What if you let her pay for everything when we finally get things over with?" Tina said, flabbergasted. She couldn't believe that Leon would order something that was ridiculously priced.
Not to mention, ridiculously priced wine.
"I'm not that shameless." Leon said as he rolled his eyes at Tina.
"If you end up asking Rachel to pay, I'm done with you!" Tina said as she yelled at Leon.
"You really talk a lot, Tina. I already said I'd pay for the meal." Leon sighed.
After Tina and Leon argued about how expensive the wine was, the waiter came to them with a bottle of 2011 Esther Red that they had previously ordered from Chateau Diana.
"Your wine, sir." The waiter said as he cautiously looked towards Leon. "Do I open it now?"
"Yes, please." Leon said as he nodded slightly.
"Wait, stop. Don't open it yet." Tina chimed in, which made the waiter stop opening the wine.
"What the heck is your problem, Tina?" Leon asked Tina impatiently. He had gone over this a thousand times already and Tina still couldn't believe him.
"This wine is just so expensive. Wouldn't it be better if we wait for Fay first before opening it?"
"Look, we're just here to taste the wine, nothing more. If you don't want it, don't drink it." Leon told her sternly. This made Tina shut up and know her place.
After all, she didn't know anything about wine.
The waiter then nodded at Leon and opened the bottle. He then poured the wine into the glasses of three people and left.
Leon slightly raised his glass and smiled at Rachel. "Rachel, don't worry. This wine tastes really good!"
"Don't you want to wait for Fay?" Rachel asked.
"We can always buy another bottle if Fay wants to try it too."
"Fine." Rachel laughed. "Cheers!"
Both Rachel and Leon raised their glasses and took a sip.
Tina simply didn't say anything and kept quiet as she watched both.
However, as a thought ran through her mind, she interrupted their moment once again. "Leon, if Fay really decided to come, would you want her to drink?"
"No." Leon simply said.
"Fay's a big star, Leon. She deserves the best, so why don't you want her to drink the wine you just bought now?" Tina told him. "She might resent you for this, you know?"
Suddenly, Leon became furious and looked at Tina in a dignified manner. "Are you scolding me for not letting Fay drink a bottle of wine?"
