Chapter 337 A Tragedy Waiting To Happen

"What are you doing? Can't you just talk?" Betty Brown couldn't watch it anymore.

Julia Young raised her eyebrows and said angrily, "Get out of my way! What kind of enchanted soup did this boy give you for you to talk to me like that?"

Leon Williams shook his head gently at the manager.

The manager understood what Leon Williams meant and he immediately declared, "The King Building is worth 30 million and I cannot make the price go lower. You can sign the contract if you agree and just forget it if you don't agree."

Minutes before, Leon Williams was willing to reduce the house price by more than 5 million for the sake of Betty Brown.

But Julia Young was being so horrible when she thought that her brother-in-law, who was a lawyer, can manipulate the situation so she could get the building at a much lower price.

The manager took full heed of Leon Williams's order to decrease the price by 5 million dollars.

But Leon Williams can't agree to a 10 million price cut.

After all, Julia Young was an ignorant woman and she was not worth it.

"I'll go to the Bureau of Trade and Industry to write a complaint against your company and let my brother-in-law sue all of you!"

Julia Young was immediately enraged as she heaved out those cruel words.

However, the manager didn't even bother to talk to her again.

If it wasn't for the fact that Leon Williams was there then the manager would not give her the time of day.

Under the hint of Leon Williams, the manager turned around and left. They didn't care if the villa would not be bought on that day because they knew that the King Buildings would be bought at a higher price in the future.

When Julia Young saw the manager leave without even acknowledging her she was so angry that she said nasty words about the place, "I don't like this rubbish real estate at all. The environment is too bad and the layout is not good. Prosperous Age District is only a joke!"

After she vented out, Julia Young had to leave the Prosperous Age real estate.

Betty Brown who was walking behind her was very much ashamed of her stepmother's tactics.

She had always been respectful and she valued proper etiquette but Julia Young was as unqualified as a shrew which made her feel embarrassed and humiliated.

Leon Williams watched as Julia Young embarrassed herself.

Julia Young wore the best pieces of jewelry yet she instantly failed at being classy.

Julia Young swore as she walked downstairs and got on the car.

"Let's go to The Sceneries! There are friends whom I know there and acquaintances that will make this easy!"

Julia Young was angry as she announced that she would go to another villa.

The Scenery, like the Prosperous Age, was newly built with new buildings located in affluent areas. There were a lot of villas and foreign houses there.

The Scenery and the Prosperous Age were two buildings that belonged to different development companies.

Prosperous Age was a small company backed by Flying Group while The Scenery was financed by an unknown man.

They drove to The scenery and Julia Young immediately called one of her acquaintances.

"I still have acquaintances that can help me deal with things like this. I know the son of The Scenery developer," Julia Young proudly boasted. "Betty, trust me when I said that you should learn to rely on friends. The developer's son has promised to show us the house himself."

Julia Young had only been back home for half a month and her relationships in Texas were almost broken. In fact, the developer's son was only introduced by her brother-in-law but Julia Young liked to pretend that she knew him.

Neither Leon Williams nor Betty Brown wanted to talk to her and neither of them responded.

The three of them came to the sales office and they met James, the son of The Scenery developer.

James was a little fat, with curly hair on his head, and a mustache on his mouth. He was twenty-seven and he looked a bit greasy.

"Betty, this is James, the son of The Scenery's developer."

Julia Young planned to introduce a few more rich people to Betty Brown, even if they were only local tycoons, any one of them would be better than the poor boy Leon Williams.

But, Betty Brown only gave him a cold expression and she just nodded curtly.

She had made it clear before that in her heart there was only Leon Williams and she promised herself that when the right time comes he would be the right person to marry.

James looked closely at Betty Brown with a greasy smile on his face.

"The daughter of the famous family really has an extraordinary charm which made you prettier than those online celebrities. The key to your charm was very mysterious that even if other girls cannot imitate it even if they try to."

James's words would sound very sweet to ordinary girls. It would have been easy to fall for it but Betty Brown was different.

"James showed us the house. There are no outsiders between us. You must satisfy your aunt."

In fact, Julia Young did not like James but she thought he was better than Leon Williams. Although the local tycoon was very corny at least he could give her a huge amount of money.

With a smile on his face, James took Julia Young and her party to a villa located in the southwest.

"Julia, this location is an absolute treasure. It was specifically designed by experts so it would look absolutely elegant in the eyes of the onlookers. As you can see the surrounding environment is beautifully filled with flowers and plants. And to complete the majestic greenery we built a greenhouse nearby" James said as he pointed towards the direction of the greenhouse.

Julia Young nodded with satisfaction and said, "The environment is really good, but I don't know whether it is as good as the King Building or not."

"Julia, this is as good as the building you are talking about. As you can see this villa is located in the front row. This is the face of the community and it is built alone in a prosperous geographical location," James said with a smile.

"This will give you the best of both worlds, Julia. You can live in the city but your house can feel like a vacation place. Fortunately, you came here today, if it had been a day later, the villa would have been bought by someone else. Because of our relationship, of course, I will keep a good house for you to choose from. After all, you are the wife from the Brown family," James was full of clever words, and that no doubt made him sell a lot of properties.

After hearing that, Julia Young grew to like the villa more.

But Leon Williams frowned at him and he looked like he disagreed with what James was saying.

"But wasn't the area potentially unsafe because it is located on a hill? Didn't you think that the ground might slide down?" Leon Williams explained.

"No, that never happened before. The villa is well built and the ground is very strong because of the roots of the trees and plants that are holding the soil below," James retorted

Julia Young agreed to what James said. Besides what does a driver as Leon Williams knew about how buildings worked?

Also, they had passed by other taller buildings that are also located in a hill area but they seemed to be just alright.

Besides, the residents looked naturally relaxed and happy. There were also rumors that the spot was lucky and it was a good place for people who wanted to venture into business.

The villa that was recommended by James looked beautiful and it seemed to be her style too.

Not far in front of the villa, three tall buildings could be seen.

The community called it the three pillars and although the view in the villa was majestic the sight of those three buildings made the view more appealing to a city girl like Julia Young. It was their version of the Eiffel Tower.

As time passed by, James' description of the villa was convincing Julia Young to buy the property.

But Leon Williams could tell at a glance that the villa was incomparable to the King Building. And what more? It was not safe at all, Julia Young might not see it now but in the future, her money's worth would plummet down.

"This villa is not safe," Leon Williams retorted.

Julia Young immediately felt the rage inside her chest and she said angrily, "Shut up! Even the experts here say that it is a treasure land and this area is considered lucky because of how people who live in the area had succeeded in their endeavors. How can it not be safe? You are speaking nonsense!"

Leon Williams would not want to argue with her further. Whether she would believe him or not was up to her. If she wanted to waste her money then she should immediately buy the property before she could waste any more of his time.

Everyone had to take responsibility and pay the price for their own choices in the future.

"Have you seen any cracks in the walls? Are you blind? That's pure nonsense!"

Julia Young deeply disagreed with what Leon Williams said. She was too angry that she walked out on them and then she walked into the villa with her high heels clicking on the floor.

Just then, the corner of James's mouth bent slightly, showing a strange smile that was unexplainable.
