Chapter 320: Chapter 320
Chapter 320 Lowlife
Leon Williams made face.
"Who the hell is this old bat?" he said.
Betty Brown glared and was aggravated. My mother." she hastily said.
"Your mother?" Leon Williams was confused.
Betty Brown was easy to get along with so it was surprising that her mother was a nagger.
"Yes, she is." she sheepishly replied.
Her mother, Julia Young, shouted again, "Get out of here, both of you!"
Betty Brown wanted to snap back but she repressed. Leon Williams was an odd man out so it was wrong to fight back.
"I know you have the pearl necklace. If you don't give it back, your daughter's life would be in great danger!" Leon Williams abruptly said.
Julia Young's eyes gleamed and vigorously reacted when she heard him. She knew they were stealing!
"What pearl necklace? I don't know what you're talking about" she said.
"Stop going through the motions. I know you have it", Leon Williams was persistent.
Betty Brown believed Leon Williams without apprehension.
"Mom, please hand him the necklace," she said to her mother.
The pearl necklace was inauspicious. Anyone who possessed it would have an ill-fated life, or worse, could put it into great danger.
"Betty, I can't believe you let yourself be fooled by this ferocious man!" Julia Young said.
Julia Young did not forbear. She was reproaching her daughter while pointing her fingers to her face. At that time, she thought they just entered the room and she just arrived on time so they were not able to forage.
Leon Williams was speechless when he saw it.
Was she really her mother?
"Mom, please! The necklace was cursed. If you continue keeping it, our lives would be put to danger," Betty Brown was begging.
"I don't have it!" Julia Young spurned.
"I know it's under your pillow," Leon Williams said as he walked towards the bed and lifted the pillow.
Julia Young was so shocked. She ran towards him and immediately grabbed the necklace.
"As a daughter, you should know how to be respectful to your mother. You should understand that I value this more than your life!" Julia Young said to Betty Brown.
Betty Brown sighed. She couldn't believe what her mother just said.
She has been long-suffering and trying to withstand for the sake of her seriously ill father, but her mother has become more dreadful.
"I don't care how you value that necklace! If you want, I'll buy you a new one. Just hand that over to us. That thing is cursed!" Betty Brown said in a far-reaching tone.
"Do you expect me to believe in you? This necklace must be worth that much, which is why you are very anxious to have it. I was the one taking care of your father for the past years and I deserve this little piece and the shares to the company! That was the reason why I came back!" Julia Young angrily said and started to stomp her feet.
Leon Williams thought something was strange with their relationship as mother and daughter. Betty Brown was a person who values family among anything or anyone else. Her mother should have known that and must be fair-minded towards her daughter.
"That necklace is cursed. If you don't hand it over, either of us must leave this house" Betty Brown said.
"I remembered you privately sold your shares so you should be the one to move out" Betty Brown continued.
Julia Young was aggrieved when she heard it. She was in wrath.
"You impudent daughter!" she said, "Do you think I can't destroy you?".
Julia Young threatened Betty Brown. She was out of her mind.
Betty Brown gave her mother a fierce Look. "You are not my mother! My mother died five years ago. You are just my father's paramour!" she angrily said.
Betty Brown couldn't help but remorse. Julia Young was her stepmother!
Leon Williams finally got it. No wonder why the mother-daughter relationship was strange.
"I tried to get along with you for the sake of my father, but you are getting worse!" she said, "The remaining shares of the Brown Family Group were named under me and grandpa. I can do whatever I want with it!"
"You think I didn't know you were not really taking care of my father! All you did was to go shopping every day and now you're here because you ran out of money!"
Betty Brown was furious. She obviously couldn't stand her stepmother anymore.
Julia Young was obnoxious. She was the type of person who would not go down an argument.
She retaliated and threatened Betty Brown, "If I can't get my share of the property, I bet you, my family will do! You will regret this!"
"Whatever!".
Betty Brown was not afraid of her family.
For quite some time, Fairmont City hasn't heard much about Julia Young's siblings.
Their family must have loyal auxiliaries and everything went touch-and-go with her father's complicity.
Her father adored this woman dearly. She doesn't want her father to perceive the situation because it could make his condition worse. "Don't tell me you don't know who my brother-in-law is," Julia Young continued to threaten her.
"Of course I know him. He was the first advocate in Texas, but so what? He has connections but he won't dare mess with the Brown family, especially me!" Betty Brown responded haughtily.
"Your family's reputation has changed! The name Brown has lost its spotlight! It will only cost me a word to destroy you!" Julia Young audaciously said then glanced at Leon Williams.
"I also heard that you scooch down to him during the annual meeting. I can't believe you were deceived by this rubbish!" Julia Young said in an infuriating way.
"He is not rubbish!" she grimly looked at Julia Young.
"Not in the eyes of the top-drawer! I can't imagine how crazy you become to take sides with this meritless man. You're a disgrace to the Brown family!" Julia Young smirked.
"You're going too far!" Betty Brown said. Her eyes were in a rage.
"You don't want to talk about it? You are like your mother who everyone thought was glacial and reserved, but in reality, she was provocative who made a ship's eye at your father!"
Julia Young was atrocious. Every word she said has become more appalling. Betty Brown cracked-up after she mocked her deceased mother. Her peepers were flushed and her face was disgruntled.
"Why are you crying? Do you remember when I asked you to marry Bagas and you acted high-handed and frigid? But now you're hobnobbing with this ferocious man. Why don't you stop pretending?" Julia Young continued to scorn her.
Julia Young walked towards Betty Brown and slapped her in the face.
Leon Williams couldn't take it anymore!
