Nate's POV

" Hey Nate ! "

Someone calls in a high pitched voice as I walk out of my first hour, Geography. My heart tightens inside my chest for a brief second but soon I realize it's none else than Grace and I turn and smile at her.

We share English together this hour. We had compared our timetables morning while she was preparing her bag for school. I share two hours, English and Biology with Grace.

If you could believe, I and Grace became thick friends just in one night. Yesterday we both talked a lot and even watched a movie together on my laptop. I even showed her my arm and she advised me a lot to not do such things again. She is really nice. I'm so happy I got her as my roommate.

" Hey Nate, come with me to the locker room. I need to place these books in the locker.", Grace says coming to me.

" Why do you've to p..place them in the locker ? Why can't you c..carry it to room at lunch break ?", I ask.

" What is the need of going to room at lunch ?", She asks me.

I shrug. " I don't g..go to locker room and I don't place any of my t..things in the locker."

" Because you are scared someone will bully you there. But today onwards you are keeping your books in the locker. And you aren't going outside through the back gate to have lunch. You are having lunch from school Canteen like everyone else. Let's see who is going to bully you."

" If you're with me, then maybe n..no one will come. ", I say smiling.

" No one will come even if I'm not there. Nate, you know what's your problem is ? You think you are really weak. You've judged yourself as a nerd and you think no body will like you or become friends with you, just because of your stammer. And you don't talk to anyone. But that's wrong. Let me tell you, your stammer isn't a big deal. You just have to talk to people and everyone will naturally like you and become friends with you.", Grace says.

" But then p..people in my earlier school didn't like me. People here also make f.fun of me for my s..stammer.", I point out. I remember how people reacted when Ethan's friends made fun of me in the maths class.

" They are all idiots. Don't mind them. You need to become friends with nice people like me.", Grace says.

I smile. " That's right. But p..people like you are r..rare."

" Nate, you are really great. You need to show everyone what all you can do. Then everyone will come to you to become your friend."

I just laugh at that. What is the great thing I can do to make people stand in a queue to enter their names in my friends list ? Woah that'd be hilarious. I break out laughing.

" Uhm..why are you laughing?", Grace asks confused.

" N..nothing.", I say controlling my laughter. " I'm really glad at least one person became my friend."

Grace sighs. " Nate, you don't really know your value."

" Seems like the gay nerd is really happy today.", someone suddenly says and I look up to see the four people I dread the most, standing in the hallway in front of me, blocking us. Amelia is in center, her furious brown eyes boring holes into my face. My heart starts thudding like crazy against my chest.

" What did you do to my Ethan ?", Amelia grunts at me.

" Who are you ?", Grace asks frowning at her.

" It's them.", I mutter to Grace and she seems to understand my clue.

" So you managed to get a friend ?", Tony smirks looking at me and then at Grace. " You are new here ?", he then asks Grace.

" What if I'm new ? ", Grace asks raising an eyebrow.

" Hmm..then you need to know you can't take that attitude in front of us." Sophia says.

" Excuse me ? I can't change my attitude in front of a certain few people. And first of all who the hell are you all ?", Grace asks daringly.

" How dare you talk to us like that ? ", Kevin snarls.

" You are already in trouble.", Tony adds.

" I think you guys are the ones in trouble.", Grace smirks.

" How courageous of you !?", Amelia glares hard at Grace.

Grace chuckles " Why the hell are you looking at me like that ? Do you think you can scare me by looking like that ? Honestly, you look like an ugly funny frog who has a dress shortage. And you didn't look at the mirror morning ? What is on your face ? I feel like laughing. "

" What ! What did you just call me ?", Amelia growls.

" Oh sorry, are you deaf ? I called you an UGLY FROG ! ", Grace smirks confidently. Instantly Amelia raises her hands to slap Grace but Grace grabs her wrist and turn it harshly to right that the next instant, Amelia is groaning and wincing in pain whilst trembling her hands.

" What did you do to her ?", Kevin screams and lands a slap on Grace's face. Grace's whole face goes to the right from the force. But the next moment she fist her hands and punch Kevin back with a lot more strength that Kevin almost stumbles backward and falls.

Tony barges towards Grace triggered by this. I try to quickly block him. But he grab my collar and pushes me to the wall. A piercing pain shoot through my spine as I hit myself harshly on the wall. I stumble down on the floor in pain and see a lot of people has already gathered around us with widened eyes and wide open mouths.

" What do you think you are doing ?", Grace shouts at Tony and then hurries towards me. But then Sophia grabs her hair and drags her causing her to scream in pain.

" Scream harder bitch. What did you think of yourself when you decide to mess with us ?"

" Take your hands away ! Or you'll pay for this ! ", Grace grunts at Sophia through clenched teeth. Sophia doesn't take away her hands and the next moment my mouth drop open as Grace spins in a fast circle and grabs a lock of Sophia's hair before throwing her to the wall. She hits the wall and starts screaming. Seems like Grace has learned martial arts.

Kevin and Tony now furiously barge towards Grace. Everyone looks terrified as Kevin pins Grace to the wall and Tony fist his hands, all set to punch Grace.

" Stop ! "

It's none else than Ethan. There is a another guy coming running along with Ethan.

" Leave her !", Ethan screams at Kevin and Tony whilst rushing towards them. " Aren't you ashamed to beat a girl ?"

Soon Kevin and Tony turns towards Ethan and the other guy. Within seconds, the four of them starts throwing punches at each other. I look around desperate for someone to come and stop the fight. Everyone is standing in shock murmuring things between each other, not knowing what is happening.

Soon Ethan falls down from Kevin's blow. Kevin pins him down on the floor and starts punching him while Amelia screams at him to stop. Grace is screaming at the people standing around us to help stop them but no one is moving a muscle. I can't even utter a word. The four of them are punching each other, whilst rolling on the ground.

Suddenly there is yelling out of nowhere and four or five male teachers along with the principal comes rushing through the corridors, pushing away the students. They along with a few boys from the crowd pushes the four fighting boys away from each other.

" All four of you ! Inside my cabin! ", The principal shouts at the four of them.
