Chapter 59: Chapter 59

6 months later

"It was a painting made in the seventeenth century-" clatter of metals like they were dancing with one another could be heard in the background of the online lesson making the class of seven-year-olds burst into a heated discussion.

"See I told you, teacher has a cookie monster at home."

"Teacher's home is haunted?!"

"Poor teacher-"

"Brats shut your mouth or do you want me to sew it for you all." The new teacher in the community orphanage was really handsome making several little girls cry when they realized they could not marry him. But it was only his face that was pretty for the words leaving his mouth were strict thus the children were forced to shut their mouths up.

"The paintings under this period largely fall under one single style called Baroque-"

"Ahhhhhh! the pan is on fire!" The wooden chair which was adjusted very elegantly tumbled in a second as the children were left with their mouths agape, hovering over the screen as a small voice shouted.

"Cookie monster burned down teachers' home! Somebody call fireman uncle!" A young man called Gary that was the instructor and caretaker of the children ran to the crying devils only to see the tumbled chair on the screen and his heartbeat quickened.

Kharsan skipped two steps at a time and ran downstairs only to be greeted by the sight of a lovely woman clutching the refrigerator for her dear life.

The most beautiful woman in the world, most precious to his heart, and also...the one who could even burn water.

The pan with black burnt eggs was taken off the countertop and its indistinguishable contents that resembled manure were discarded in the bin with a little flame burning on top. Gary who came running from the nearby community in the pouring rain ran through the slightly opened door only to witness the scene infront of his eyes.

"I am okay Gary, don't worry about me!"

A smile that resembled a cry was soon given to Rue who in turn smiled at the man widely.

"Baby I will see him off, wash your hands I will prepare lunch." Soon the lean man who resembled a twig was dragged away from Rue.

"So that's why..."

"I know."

"B-But I didn't!

I t-thought you were being misogynistic when y-you said she cannot bake a cake for the children."

He wasn't being misogynistic, he was telling him that she would not cook, could not cook, and never in her dreams did it for his pretty baby once boiled milk and Kharsan for the next hour had to wipe the entire floor for it had flown like river in all directions.

"She is talented in everything else now get out."

"It's raining."

"Here is an umbrella."

"Kharsan I am ready." Rue like a virtuous wife kept out a random pot and washed some vegetables, she even took out the chicken broth from the cabinet that was prepared waiting to be praised. The male arrived after shutting their front door and soon the food was prepared and served. Kharsan barely controlled his lips from forming an arc as he saw the twinkling eyes looking at him like a creep.

Rue was still waiting.

"I cleaned the windows."

"My baby did?" Little face blossomed to that of exalting joy as she proudly nodded.

"While you were teaching I harvested the tomatoes in our garden, there were strawberries that were difficult to reach and..."

"And what cookie monster?"

"And while I was getting them I was bitten by a bug." Kharsan could not control himself anymore and his face broke into an smile as he shook his head.

"Silly baby let me see." When he stood up towering over the female Rue often complained that she disliked that she had to crane her neck so much so as to see him and would one day break it thus the mafia male even before she could complain sat on the ground and took her one foot onto his palm.

There it was, a pinkish spot that stood against the creamy skin, a cabinet nearby was shuffled and an ointment was obtained only to be applied on it.

"Is it okay?"

"Not yet."

"No? Then come here." Kharsan extended his hands to pluck the little female out of her seat and settled her down on his lap with gentle palm tracing her back.

"Its not here, it's not even here." Rue watched him curiously as he searched for something.

"Jellybean let me see you back." The female unabashedly raised her cloth a little and innocently asked.

"What are you searching for?"

"Your wings."

"W-What?"

"Where did you hide your pretty wings angel."

Rue did not speak for sometime, it was only when her brain completely registered what he was saying did her face dyed in pink blush.

So corny!

Since when did he learn to say such things, the person she raised was cold and calculative, if he was so sweet how would she protect him from other females?

"Imposter return me my Kharsan!" A little fist hit his heart and Kharsan pretended to be hurt.

"Was I harsh, is it hurting?"

"Hmm."

"Kharsan what are you feeling?" Rue clutched the masculine bicep and asked with concern.

"Love."

Again?

Her husband's innocence was stolen!
