What does he mean by if he was sure it was the poison in the Alpha's body.

"So tell me Fuller, who is this person that got the antidote?" Mr Pete asked, his eyes were filled with curiousity.

"Aurora, Robert Patterson's daughter and also the future Luna to this pack.

She got the antidote and saved the Alpha's alive. As I am talking to you now, alpha Jax doesn't look like someone who was poisoned. He looked very energetic" Doctor Fuller said.

"Robert Patterson's daughter? Hmmmm" Mr Pete lowered his face in thought.

"Did Robert told her daughter how to get the antidote? If he didn't then how did she knew?" He couldn't help but wonder.

Mr Pete turned to Doctor Fuller, looking intently into his eyes while searching for an answer.

"Tell me Fuller, tell me everything that happened and everything you knew" he said, raising his voice a little higher.

Doctor Fuller frowned, he obviously came to tell him what happened and also make inquires but he doesn't get why Mr Pete was so curious that he's literally shouting at him as if he wasn't going to tell him.

Mr Pete noticed his angry gaze and sighed, I'm sorry doctor, I was just curious to know what happened and how she got the antidote, I didn't mean to raise my voice at you" he apologized.

Well the thing is... I think her little sister had something to do with the cure. Her blood was used even though they kept it a secret but I got to find out as the girl was telling Alpha Jax" doctor Fuller explained.

"I see... Don't worry Fuller, I'm going to look into this matter and will call you once I find out why her blood was used.

I still know the procedures and the ingredients to prepare the antidote but you need to p that be?" Doctor Fuller asked anxiously looking intently at the scientist who was smiling suspiciously.

He himself was also interested in making the antidote. He only came to know why the little girl's blood was used as he already knew the ingredients and procedures for preparing the antidote.

He knew the one who makes the antidote would make so much money from it as it is wanted by every werewolf so he was interested in it also.

"Don't worry Fuller. There's someone I'm going to consult and I will call you as soon as I get the answer" Mr Pete said dismissing him as he walked back into his study.

Doctor Fuller got up and left the house with an anxious look. He hopes Mr Pete would be able to get the reason why that little girl's blood was used.

Beta Rufus walked slowly towards the cell Gamma Enrique was held in. He wanted to find out the reason why Enrique sold them out. He would also need to question Adrene but first he would meet Enrique.

He saw Enrique with his head down looking defeated and…regretful. He walked up to him in the cell as the guards used the remote control to open the iron guard laced with silver.

"Did you come to know the reason why I betrayed the pack?", Enrique said without raising his head up. He had captured the Beta's scent.

"Sure. I know it wasn't monetary, so tell me the reason", Beta Rufus said.

"Is the alpha dead?", Enrique asked.

"Do you wish him dead?", Beta Rufus threw back at him.

"No and…yes. If he dies, I will be alive", Enrique said calmly but with a tone of regret.

"What if he is alive?", Beta Rufus asked with a smirk.

"Then I would die…alongside Adrene", Enrique said, raising his head.

"Stop this riddle and tell me why you betrayed the pack! We were friends, Enrique!", Beta Rufus said, looking pained.

"Yes, we were friends but it all ended when I was captured by the Triad Circle Pack. I swore allegiance to the Alpha's mistress, Adrene!", Enrique said, raising his voice.

"Why! Why, Enrique?", Beta Rufus asked.

"That's because she fed me the lotus drink! I would die because only she has the antidote. I had to obey her", Enrique said with a defeated expression.

"At the end you still have to die anyway. You are a traitor and you know how much Jax hates traitors", Beta Rufus said as he turned around to leave.

"How did he survive the trinitaria poison? It has no antidote", Enrique asked.

"Well, let's just say a miracle happened. You can die with that thought", Beta Rufus said before leaving.

"Yes, I deserve death. I am just happy you survived, Jax", Enrique said as he bowed his head again, waiting for his punishment.

Beta Rufus walked up to Adrene's cell. He saw her looking smug and without an ounce of regret.

The cell reminded him of Jasmine, Celine's sister. That was the cell Jasmine was put in before she took her life.

The guards told him some days back that she committed suicide by hitting her head severally on the silver bar. She lost too much blood and died before they rushed her to the hospital.

He had been unable to tell his wife, Celine. He knew she would be devastated. He also knew he had to tell her. Her father was still alive. He wondered if Celine would want to see her father after the death of her sister.

He sighed before standing outside the cell. He dared not enter. That woman was too scary and trickish. He doesn't want to fall victim.

"Are you afraid of me?", She chuckled from the cell.

"Just cautious. I see you are looking happy", Beta Rufus commented.

"Why won't I? I know you came to give me good news. Oops! That's bad news for you", she said looking extremely happy.

"Really? How did you guess? I came with good news and oops! It's bad news for you", Beta Rufus said looking at her with a smug grin.

"How do you mean?", She asked as her countenance changed immediately.

"You know what I mean", Beta Rufus replied, still grinning.

"That's impossible. He can't survive it…you are just saying that to break my spirit! I refuse to believe there is an antidote!", Adrene was going crazy with anger.

"Why would I deceive you? Do you think you are so great? You are just a mistress. You have always been a mistress and you will only be a mistress. You have no worth…no value.

Even the alpha of the Triad Circle will kick you out anytime. You can never be a Luna", Beta Rufus hit her at her sore spot.

"You fucking bastard! I am not a mistress! ", Adrene screamed.

"You are not just a mistress but a worthless one at that! If you are that important why hasn't the Alpha of The Triad Circle come for your rescue? He must have received the news that you failed and was captured.

Why hasn't he come to rescue you? That's because you are worthless and only useful in bed", Beta Rufus spat out.

"I will fucking kill you just as I killed your dumb Alpha!", Adrene screamed as she made for the bars but she shrieked back again.

In her rage, Adrene had forgotten she was locked up in a cell with the deadly silver bane. She shrieked back in pain, when her hands were covered with blood. Staring at Beta Rufus in hatred, she spat at him but he quickly moved away. Nevertheless, the spit touched his shirt.

"I told you, you have lost. Alpha Jax is alive and well", Beta Rufus said, wiping off the spit with a handkerchief.

"I killed him already! Alpha Jax is dead!", She screamed hysterically. It seems she couldn't accept the truth.

Adrene couldn't believe Alpha Jax was still alive. There was no cure to the trinitaria poison. Even the renowned Doctor Robert Patterson couldn't get it with all his experience as a scientist. How could a little girl with no experience make the antidote in less than forty eight hours.

"You didn't kill him, Miss Adrene. You lost…you had lost a long time ago. You just don't want to give up. Even your child would never forgive you for ruining your life", Beta Rufus said.

"I still have the antidote for Enrique. If you let me go, I am ready to give him the antidote", Adrene tried to negotiate with him.

She had to look for a way to escape from the cell. She knew she was going to die but she wants to try her luck.

"Do I look like I care about a traitor?", Beta Rufus asked with a raised brow before turning around to leave.

"Don't you leave me! Just kill me already! I hate you all! I hate you all!", Adrene kept screaming.

Beta Rufus turned to look at her. She was looking haggard all of a sudden. It seems she had come to realize the truth that Alpha Jax was alive.

"Of course, we will kill you. Just be patient. You will die soon", Beta Rufus chuckled before leaving.

Adrene flung herself on the ground in anguish. She couldn't believe she was defeated. She should have stopped a long time ago but she was blinded by her rage towards Jack.

She knew her sister should be blamed for Timothy's death but she can't help blaming Jack for making her that way that night. If she wasn't drunk, Timothy wouldn't call that wench, Camille. She blamed everyone but herself.

Jack, you won and I lost, hahahahah" she began laughing hysterically.

It's been an arduous day for Beta Rufus and he was dying to meet his mate. Since he had already sent the Alpha and his family their food, he needed to go home so he could relax.

Also, he missed his wife.

There was also a reason why he wanted to go home. He wanted to tell Celine about Jasmine's death.

Beta Rufus got out of his car tiredly. As he made it to his house, a figure ran out to embrace him. He already felt her scent as he wrapped his arms around her.

He kissed her hungrily. It seems all his tiredness had just vanished.

"I missed you, Celine", he whispered tiredly into her ears.

"I missed you too, Rufus. Come on in, you look extremely tired", Celine said as she grabbed his hands and led him inside. His mother and sister were at home. He greeted them before quickly going into his room.

Celine prepared his bath while a servant was getting his food ready. She had a lot of questions but she saw how tired he was. She was just going to wait till he had rested.

Beta Rufus caught her staring at him. He knew she wanted to ask him about the Alpha's situation.

"The alpha is fine. He is awake now. Aurora is a great scientist I must say", Beta Rufus said as he stepped into the bathroom.

"Oh! Thank the goddess for his mercies!", Celine prayed with a relieved expression.

Beta Rufus wanted to tell her about Jasmine but he stopped himself. He will tell him when he finished washing himself and eating.

Beta Rufus was done with everything in about an hour. Then he walked towards Celine quietly as he drew her on top of his muscled legs.

"Baby, I…I have something to tell you. Just listen to my explanation and don't be too hard on yourself", Beta Rufus said trying to sound calm.

"Okay, baby. What is it?", She asked. She wondered why Rufus seemed freaked out.

"Jasmine is dead", Rufus immediately blurted out before he changed his mind.

Celine, who was still sitting on Rufus' lap, stiffened her body at his statement. She looked at him so he could repeat himself.

"I am sorry, Celine. She rammed her head against the bar at the cell for more than twice before the guards noticed. When they got to her she was already in her pool of blood. She died before she was taken to the hospital," Rufus explained.

"Where is my father? Is he dead too?", Celine asked rather calmly but he knew she was suppressing her emotions. Her eyes were turning red.

"No, your father isn't dead baby, he's still alive and well" Beta Rufus replied.

"Take me to him, Rufus", Celine said blinking her eyes hard.

"Are you sure baby?", Beta Rufus as he looked at Celine.

"I should have done this a very long time ago. He caused her death", Celine replied as she stood up abruptly.

Beta Rufus knew nothing would change her mind as he quietly led her out of the house. They drove straight to the warehouse where Celine's father was kept.

Celine watched as her father coiled himself up in the cell he was placed. It seems to avoid him harming himself, he was moved to a new cell with guards around it all the time.

This new cell had walls all around it and the windows are high. Celine beckoned on the guards around to open the cell gate. They looked at Beta Rufus. They opened it after they gained his approval.

"Father…", Celine called out softly but with an edge.

The man who was looking frail and pale looked up to see his daughter, Celine. His eldest daughter whom he had always neglected. He looked behind her and saw Beta Rufus behind her.

"Celine…Celine my daughter! You came to visit father. Now quick, get me out of here", Her father urged her like a deranged man.

"Are you happy now? Are you happy she died because of your ambitions?", Celine asked with a sneer. She was never going to let him see her tears.

"What do you mean, Celine? I never killed anyone", her father denied.

"Yes, you have never killed anyone. Not even Jasmine whom you continue pushing into the arms of the alpha because of your ambitions? Not even your daughter whom you encouraged to harm the newly found mate of the alpha simply because he left your daughter? Father,are you this heartless?", Celine asked as she used all she had to control her tears from falling.

Her father jolted at Celine's words. He realised he just caused his younger daughter's death. It was true, he pushed her. He groomed her to get the Alpha…all for power. He regretted it as he burst into tears.

"Jasmine…oh…Jasmine! I killed my daughter with my actions. I never thought she would die!", Her father groaned loudly.

"Don't worry, you still have several years to mourn and feel regret. I will make sure you live long enough to beg for death. The thought of your daughter's blood in your hands would hunt you, father.

The moon goddess shall demand Jasmine's blood from you", Celine cursed as she turned around to leave the cell.

Before she left, she pointed at Beta Rufus without looking at her father ," This is my mate, Beta Rufus. We are already married. He is the second in command to the alpha. Believe me when I say that I will make you regret and you will wish you were dead".

Celine walked away with wavering steps as she tried to hold herself together.

Once they got into the car, she broke down in tears. She had no family left. She was letting out all her sadness and sorrow. She mourned her sister's death.

"You still have me…you still have my family. They are our family now. Pour out your tears but remember, I will always be here for you", Beta Rufus said as he smiled at her.

She smiled as she knew he was right. Rufus was her mate. He was her family and she was going to cherish it.

She wasn't going to leave after her contract expires. She was going to stay by his side forever.
