Rufus turned to see Celine glaring at him. He tried his best to hide his smile as he drew her to himself. He planted kisses all over her face and he whispered into her ears.

"Thank you Celine, I love you so much", he said as he cuddled her to himself.

"I love you too, Rufus", Celine said timidly.

Celine wasn't the timid type but around her mate, she was like a little girl who just fell in love.

They both held each other tightly as they fell asleep forgetting their breakfast.

Rufus was still asleep when Alpha Jax mindlink him anxiously.

"Jax, can I please have a day off to…", he said but was cut off by the urgency in Alpha Jax's tone.

"I want you to drive to my study right now and bring the file marked Robert Patterson. Right now, Rufus…I don't have time to explain. Aurora is bleeding", Alpha Jax said before he cut off the link.

Rufus, who was sleepy before, immediately stood up from the bed in a rush. Celine opened her eyes to see her husband frantically putting on his pants.

"What's happening Rufus?, Celine asked as she wrapped the blanket around herself.

"I don't know the details now but it seems that Luna is bleeding and Alpha Jax wants me to bring something from his study", Rufus said as he managed to get dressed.

"Oh…hurry then. I can imagine how distraught Alpha would be now. He loves her so much", Celine said as she urged Rufus.

"Sorry for leaving you this way. I will make it up to you, darling", Rufus said as he kissed her cheek before hurrying off.

On his way to Alpha Jax's mansion, he wondered what relationship the document has with Aurora's bleeding. Isn't he supposed to rush to the hospital? Why Jax mansion?

Beta Rufus was thinking as he drove quickly to Jax's mansion. He went to his study and collected the document. As he was about to leave, something struck his mind.

"Could Robert Patterson be related to Aurora?", Beta Rufus thought aloud.

The investigation he made on Aurora simply showed that Aurora was living with her mother and sister. What about her father? Could Robert be her father?

During Robert's assassination, he was not in town. He only delegated trusted people to carry out the mission.

Beta Rufus suddenly remembers that Aurora was related to the Smiths. The mother of Mason is Robert Patterson's younger sister.

"Oh shit! This is really bad!", Beta Rufus exclaimed as he ran out of Alpha Jax with the document.

Beta Rufus drove at top speed so he could get to the hospital on time but his car happen to break down for more than an hour before he could continue his journey.

When he got to the entrance of the hospital, he saw Gamma Enrique taking out his phone. Rufus was relieved at least, someone was here with Jax.

But as he drew closer, he heard Gamma Enrique talking to someone over the phone. Due to his sharp hearing, he heard everything they discussed on the phone.

Beta Rufus stared at their friend who didn't take notice of his presence. Actually, Alpha Jax had been suspecting a traitor for some time now. He had been wondering why Jax assigned Enrique to his Uncle. Except for some duties, Enrique was usually excluded from many confidential issues.

Who was Enrique working for? He wondered what made him betray them but whatever reason it is, isn't an excuse for backstabbing.

Beta Rufus mindlink the secret guards around the hospital with instructions to stay at alert. He knew he had to do this before Jax arrived.

Rufus wished he didn't have to do this.

Gamma Enrique took out his phone as he made a call to Adrene. He really didn't want to but he needs to get that poison away from his body. He had seen Alpha Jax in a terrible state running through the forest. He knew Jax was in his vulnerable state.

"You can gather your hidden troops right now and meet Jax at the forest opposite the hospital. He is alone…and vulnerable", Gamma Enrique said.

"Good boy. I knew you love your life more", Adrene said, chuckling over the phone.

"Cut that crap and be ready to give me the antidote once you get him. I am sick of working for you and your sick lover", Gamma Enrique said as he cut the call.

He was getting frustrated by the day. It wasn't easy getting Alpha Jax. But he guessed the only thing that could ever shake that man was his mate…and unborn child. Gamma Enrique hopes they get this mission done with as soon as possible.

Gamma Enrique had been living with this poison for more than five years now and it's beginning to spread. That wench refuses to bulge in giving him the antidote. He wonders what kind of hatred she harbors towards the alphas of the blood moon pack.

He put back his phone into his pocket only to turn around to see Beta Rufus staring at him. Enrique was shocked but he quickly masked it with a fake smile. He just hoped Beta Rufus hadn't heard anything.

"Rufus…what…what are you doing here?," He stuttered.

"I have come to see the alpha. Have you seen him?", Beta Rufus asked, staring at Enrique.

"What…no… I haven't seen him…he… he called me here too but I haven't seen him", Gamma Enrique said wiping his sweat.

"Why are you stuttering…and sweating? Are you hiding something?", Beta Rufus asked.

"Of course not. It's just that I rushed over here as soon as I received the Alpha's call. I am feeling a little tired", Gamma Enrique lied.

"Oh…okay. Let's go in, then", Beta Rufus said.

Gamma Enrique turned around to walk back to the hospital but he suddenly felt a sack over his face as he was bundled up by the secret guards whom Beta Rufus had already signaled.

"Rufus, what the hell do you think you are doing?", Gamma Enrique said in panic.

"What do you think…traitor? I wonder what made you betray us. Why did you do it, Enrique?", Beta Rufus asked.

"Rufus, you have to listen to me. I can explain", Gamma Enrique tried to plead even as the sack was making him uncomfortable.

"You want to explain how you became a traitor or why you became one? A traitor remains a traitor. There are no reasons to justify betrayal", Beta Rufus said.

"Get this thing off me, Rufus! I am still the Gamma of this Pack! You are humiliating me!", Gamma Enrique shouted desperately.

"You should have thought about your position before betraying the Pack! You are just a bloody betrayal!", Beta Rufus said as he kicked Gamma Enrique in anger.

Gamma Enrique began to struggle with the guards who held him tightly. He hit one of the guards with his leg as he dragged the sack off his face. But before he could escape, he was held strongly by two other guards.

He was looking viciously at everyone around him. He tried struggling but his strength was no match for the two hefty men holding him down.

So he wouldn't escape, a guard gave him an injection that got him weak. It was burning throughout his body. He knew it wasn't an ordinary injection, it must have contained silver bane.

"Rufus, you have no right to treat me… like this…I am a Gamma!," Gamma Enrique screamed.

"Not anymore. And before you forget, I am second in command to the alpha…so I have every right to deal with traitors like you. Guards, take him to the warehouse", Beta Rufus commanded.

Gamma Enrique was overpowered by the guards as they threw him into the van with the silver Cage. He never thought he would be in this situation but then he had always been afraid of being caught.

He just hopes Adrene could defeat Alpha Jax quickly so he can be saved.

Beta Rufus watched as the van drove away with a growling Gamma Enrique. Rufus has to find that woman and he needs to let Alpha Jax know as soon as possible.

He hadn't taken two steps when he heard a voice behind him calling his name.

"Rufus, where…where is Jax?", Aurora's voice tore through Beta Rufus thought.

He turned around to see a pale Aurora in a hospital gown with plaster on her hand. He quickly went up to her to hold her up. Wasn't she supposed to be resting? Where did Jax run off to? Did they already have the misunderstanding?

Did she already found out Jax was involved in the death of her father?

"I am fine, Rufus. I know my body's limit", she said as she shoved Rufus away," I need to speak to Jax quickly."

Aurora was desperately searching for Alpha Jax all over the hospital. She even went to the Cafe where he sat with her mother. Where could he have gone? As she was about to go into the forest, she saw Beta Rufus about to enter the hospital so she ran to him.

"The alpha is not here? I…I don't know where he is. He asked me to meet him here with these files," Beta Rufus said, looking worried as he clutched the files tightly.

"Files? You mean the files containing my father's issuance of assassination? I don't need it anymore," Aurora said, trying to suppress her emotions.

"Miss Aurora, we are really sorry…," Beta Rufus tried to explain.

"You don't have to apologise. I already know the truth. He deserved it", Aurora said as her chest became heavy with pain.

"You knew? Jax already explained?", Beta Rufus asked.

"No, my mother did. Rufus, please I need to see Jax. He…he is not in the right state of mind…and… and I caused it. I need to see him and apologize. Please don't ask me more questions", Aurora said.

"Okay, I won't ask. The secret guards are supposed to follow him anywhere. I need to ask them", Beta Rufus beckoned on one of the guards.

He walked up to them and bowed deeply.

"Where is the Alpha?", Aurora couldn't wait as she immediately asked the man.

"I am sorry, Miss Aurora. We followed him into the forest but he drove us all away. We had no choice but to leave," he replied.

"Simply because he drove you away, you immediately left? What kind of guards are you? Why are you secret guards if you can't even keep yourself secret!", Aurora yelled in desperation.

"Miss Aurora, please take it easy on yourself. They are just subordinates. They can't over ride the decision of the alpha. We will find him," Beta Rufus said as he tried to calm the anxious Aurora.

Then he turned to the guards," Lead us to where you left him."

"Yes, Beta. This way, Miss Aurora", the guards said as they entered the forest.

They searched for more than an hour but they couldn't trace Jax's scent. Beta Rufus tried to mindlink him but he couldn't get any access.

Aurora was getting worried. She regretted her actions already. She just wanted to see him and apologize. Her mind went back to all the times she had treated him wrongly. No matter what she did to him, he had always been there for her.

She wondered what he would be thinking about her now. Did he hate her? Was he disappointed? Of course, he must have been disappointed. She didn't trust him.

As Aurora was pondering in her heart, she suddenly stopped moving as she felt her chest tightened. She felt hurt…and sad.

What happened? Why is her heart hurt?

"Ahhh! My chest! It's burning!", Aurora screamed as she fell down.

Beta Rufus ran to her swiftly", Aurora, tell me what happened?".

"Rufus, I feel like something is burning in my chest. I feel…hurt", she tried to explain.

Beta Rufus was shaking. Something must have happened to Alpha Jax. They have to get to him quickly.

"Aurora, can you try and ask him where he is?," Rufus said to Aurora.

"How do I do that?," Aurora was confused.

"Just the way you talk to your wolf but this time search for Jax in your heart. He is there, Aurora. Talk to him. We need to get to him quickly before anything bad happens," Rufus said urgently. He prays Jax was alright.

Damn you, Enrique! I will kill you myself!

"What happened to Jax?", Aurora asked as her heart began to beat faster.

"He might be in grave danger, Aurora. We need to get to him fast and…"

Aurora didn't wait to hear the rest of the words as she immediately closed her eyes to search for Jax.

Jax….I am sorry. Where are you? You have to stay alive for us, please. Where are you? I need you…our baby needs you!
