Then it happened one night, she sensed the presence of a werewolf close to her apartment commanding her to come out. The power was so great. It was just a little below the power of an Alpha. She couldn't resist as she obeyed without hesitation.

Adrene moved to the woods surrounding her apartment. That was when she saw a wolf, it was so huge and compelling. It drew her closer and she stood transfix, looking at the huge wolf.

Right before her eyes, the wolf changed into a beautiful woman. She had the prettiest eyes ever and a disposition of a woman of high status. She looked calm and…friendly but there's this hidden piercing glare at the corner of her eyes that made Adrene shiver.

Who was this woman and why is she compelling her to meet with her? In her entire life as a werewolf, only two people can compel others against her will. And they are the Alpha and…. Luna… of the pack the person belongs to.

But Adrene had not heard anything about Jack marrying someone. Or was she kept in the dark? Her face was filled with confusion. She really had no idea what was happening around her.

"Whatever you are thinking in your mind about Jack is true. Indeed, Jack is already engaged", the strange woman replied.

"Who are you?", Adrene asked with anger not minding her oppressive aura.

"Jack's fiancee and the future Luna of Blood Moon Pack", she replied, still looking defiant. She wasn't arrogant nor abusive but her temperament would place everyone below her. The woman was like a born royal with the aura of the gods.

Adrene didn't have enough time to care about the woman's temperament. She was shocked and full of disbelief at the words of the woman. She still doesn't believe Jack would do that to her. They were in love, right?

Adrene's wolf yelled in her head. She wanted to come out and battle it out with her but somehow this woman managed to suppress her wolf internally.

"Jack would never betray me… no…I would never believe you…. unless Jack tells me himself…you are the liar! I know the man I love and he can never betray me!", Adrene stuttered furiously trying to break the force of the woman on her. She was getting weak.

"I don't want to hurt you. Stop struggling and submit. It would be better for you", she warned softly with those eyes glittering.

"I will never submit to you….. who do you think you are?", Adrene shouted.

"I am not only the future Luna of Blood Moon Pack but I also have Alpha blood. Don't test my patience. I am having pity on you because of your son. Stay alive for him…stay away from Jack. I won't be the one to come next. Remember my words", the woman warned before turning to leave.

"Who are you? Tell me your name!", Adrene asked.

"You don't need to know. Just remember my words. I only came because I don't want your son to be sent to welfare after your death. You don't covet an Alpha's mate. Remember this", she said as she changed back to her wolf form before running off through the forest.

"You don't fucking know Jack as I do! You are not his fucking mate! You are just a fucking liar! Jack would never betray me! Never!", Adrene shouted as she fell to the ground.

She had never felt this helpless for a long time. As much as she doesn't want to believe it, there are so many pointers already. Adrene could feel the distance between her and Jack growing bigger. He even stopped having sex with her for almost two months now. The excuse was that he was too busy.

Adrene wonders if what the woman was telling her could be the truth. She can't seem to accept the situation. She can't accept it. Alpha Jack would never betray or lie to her.

If there was anything like that he would tell her but he had never done it.

Adrene kept crying on the ground for more than an hour before she dragged her tired body back to her apartment. She concluded the lady was lying or she just came to tempt her. No, she would never fall for those lies. She doesn't know the woman but she knows Alpha Jack very well. She would rather believe the one whom she loves than the one she barely knows.

She went into her room and hugged her sleeping son tightly. She was thinking about how they were suffering before Alpha Jax changed their condition. Are they going back to that same condition? Is Alpha Jack really leaving her?

She slept with tears in the corner of her eyes. All she ever wanted was a little love and a tiny little family. She had dreamt about it being fulfilled by alpha Jack.

But now, her dreams are just…dreams.

It's been a month since Adrene's encounter with that woman. She had been waiting for Jack since that night but he never came for her. She began to slowly believe the woman's words. Was Jack really engaged?

She scolded herself for believing someone she doesn't know. She had sent messages to Jack on several occasions but the number had not been going. Another reason she wasn't that bothered was that Jack had gone on missions that had lasted a month and two weeks before he came back to her again.

Maybe that was the case this time.

Adrene cast those thoughts aside and decided to go back to her office as normal. She acquired her own entertainment agency with the help of Alpha Jack. She had raised some talents within the space of eight months. But these days, she has been neglecting her duties due to the stress of her relationship.

She decided to handover her business to her younger sister for the time being. She was too emotionally unstable to handle any office stuff now. Though her sister is not that trustworthy but she had no choice…and she won't be that stupid to leave everything to her sister.

She had already called her sister over to help her. Her younger sister just finished her management course and immediately got married to her mate. They had been cosy together. She never minded at first because she had Jack but now, pain shot through her as she remembered that no one had ever loved her…or is Jack different?

When she got to the office, she was so tired from last night coupled with her severe migraine this morning. She looked into her office drawer and brought a pill to swallow. After taking the pill, she wanted to lay her head down when she heard a knock on the office door.

"Sister Adrene…I missed you so much", a voice said as she walked into the office in high stiltoles.

She was looking graceful and charming. When she smiled, dimples displayed on her cheeks. She was just like a supermodel on the runway. She had a high nose and well proportioned cheekbones. Her eyes are greenish. She had the curves that can drive a man insane.

"Camille, you are here. Please sit ", Adrene said as she kept rubbing her head.

"What's the matter sis?", Camille asked looking concerned.

"Nothing much, just a splitting headache and I have taken pills already. I just need to rest", she replied.

"Okay sis. What was so urgent that you can't wait till you are well?", Camille queried.

"Camille, please stop your nagging. I really need us to talk. I know you are my only sister and family after our parents died last two years. You and my son are my only family. Timothy is still young but I can trust you, right?", Adrene said calmly.

"Sis, you know you can trust me. You have been good to me for as long as I can remember. Trust me, I can't ever let you down", Camille said with a faint smile.

"Camille, you might be my sister but what I hate most is betrayal. I can wipe you and your generations off if you ever betray me", Adrene said looking straight into her sister's eyes. She was threatening her sister but it wasn't just a mere threat, she would go through with it.

"Sis…you know I can't betray you", Camille said trying to hide the fear in her voice.

"Good. That is settled then. We can move to the next step now", Adrene replied smiling like she never threatened her sister.

Camille heaved a deep breath as her sister started smiling again. She was scared out of her wits but she had to be brave so her plans could work.

"I am handing this business to you temporarily till I sort out whatever issues I am facing now", Adrene just spilled it out.

"Sis…are you okay? Is something wrong? Why are you abandoning your business?"Camille asked, trying to hide her elated expression.

"Point of correction, dear sis. I am not abandoning my business. Secondly, your position is just temporary until I finish whatever I am doing and thirdly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with me, okay?", Adrene explained calmly.

"Okay sis, it's just that you got me scared when you said you had issues. Sorry, my mind went too far", she replied, looking down to avoid her disappointed eyes.

"It's okay. You don't have to be sorry, afterall you are my sister and I am fine. It's just that I have to settle some issues and that might take some time", Adrene said smiling at her sister.

"Okay Sis", Camille replied returning her sister's smiles though deep down she wished she could just strangle her sister.

"So are you willing to do it? You just have to sign the documents that are here", Adrene said, bringing out the document from the desk drawer.

Camille smiled and nodded. Her sister should never dream of taking back the business after she had left it.

She would never give Adrene back her company!

It's been three days since Adrene handed her company to her sister, Camille. She knew her sister's abilities even if her sister might be tricky. But, she was very business oriented. That was one reason she decided to give her sister the job of nurturing the business.

Adrene had been tossing on her bed for sometime. She felt restless and sleepless. She felt something wasn't right. Could Alpha Jack be in trouble? She really wished she could see him.

She went to her son's room to check on him and found him sleeping soundly. She caressed his cheek before leaving the room quietly. She had to go to the Blood Moon Pack as soon as possible.

Adrene boarded her car and drove all the way to the Blood Moon Pack on the outskirts of the City. It's a place where only those who were werewolves could access. There's a special place where there's an entrance to the werewolves community.

After a while, Adrene got into the Blood Moon Pack community. She remembered what led her to relocate to the human world and now same reason made her come back….. A man…. That's the reason.

She sighed before she hail a cab there that would lead her to the Alpha's mansion. The taxi driver looked at her before allowing her to get in.

"Ma'am, aren't you too shabbily dressed for the Alpha's marriage ceremony?", The taxi driver asked, still looking at her.

Adrene, who wanted to rebuke the driver, was shocked beyond doubt.

"Which..which...Alpha are you talking…about?", Adrene stammered as her face suddenly turned pale.

"Madam, are you new here?", The driver asked.

"No, I just…wanted to know", Adrene said.

"Okay. It's Alpha Jack. He just got married yesterday. They are organizing an after marriage party for the couple", the driver explained.

"Driver sorry but I need to know something. How long will it take to get to the Alpha place?", She asked.

"It might take up to an hour" he answered her.

"Okay, you can stop the car", she said suddenly.

"Are you sure, madam?", The man asked surprised.

"Yes, I am stopping here. Here is your full charges", Adrene said as she got down out of the cab. She walked into the nearby forest to let out her anger and also ran to the mansion so she can see for herself.

Adrene couldn't believe the woman that night was telling the truth. So, Jack just left her after he met his mate.

"What have I done to deserve these heartbeats? Moon goddess! You have to answer me now!", She screamed her lungs out.

She turned into her wolf and ran into the forest. She continue running until she saw the mansion which was decorated just like a wedding venue.

Adrene stared at the big wedding picture of Alpha Jack and his mate. That woman that night. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.

She needs to see Jack before she leaves. She needs him to talk to her…he needs to tell her, it's over between them.

She moved closer to the gate of the mansion. She wanted to go in but she just couldn't as her legs began to wobble. Tears keep streaming down her furs.

Adrene suddenly stiffened when she felt a powerful presence around her. It was so overwhelming that she squatted down in fear. She didn't need to ask before she knew the person. Her heart was beating so fast as she raised her head to look at that handsome face.

It really was Alpha Jack.

She stared at him with tears running down. She tried to see if there were any regrets on his face.

She saw no regret in his eyes, rather it was disappointment. Adrene was so angry but she held her anger inside.

She needs to speak to Jack.
