Chapter 56: Chapter 56

It felt surreal as Alpha Jax stared at the beautiful woman lying on the bed with a fragile body. Her face was looking tired but bright. Her lips were pouted. Looking at it alone makes him want to kiss it.

He was extremely happy. His whole body screamed excitement. He had never felt like this before ever since he lost his parents. His mother had been a source of joy to him while his father had been the source of his strength and courage. So he never needed a mate.

He never thought he needed one until he met her.

Alpha Jax never thought having a mate would be this blissful after their initial squabbles. He was beginning to lose hope on the relationship. He had blamed the Moon goddess for giving him a troublesome mate.

She is not just troublesome but she despised him so much. Infact, she hated him. He began to question his fate. He began to question why his own was different. All he ever wanted was to be loved and he was ready to be the ideal husband.

But after that night at the pub, everything changed. Though they had it rough at first. Though they despise each other at first but slowly she had warmed her way into his heart.

And he had never regretted it. His waiting wasn't in vain.

He never thought he could find so much happiness within these past weeks. She had been very stubborn and unyielding. She didn't want to be around him despite the attraction. Aurora hated him so much that he often wondered if he had done something to her.

Alpha Jax was an early bloomer who did his acceptance ceremony at the age of ten. He had been expecting his mate on his eighteen years birthday but it never happened. He was never bothered about it until he lost his parents.

Alpha Jax's mind drifted to his many escapades before he met Aurora. It wasn't really his intention to flirt but when he couldn't find his mate after his acceptance ceremony, he was still patient but he began getting close to several women. He was hoping that he might be lucky to come across his mate from among them.

But despite flirting with a lot of them, his mate didn't show up. He was starting to grow frustration that he became an addict to women. He was desperately in search of his mate.

His uncle was getting old and grey and he keeps disturbing him to get married and claim a Luna but he doesn't just want a lady. He doesn't want a lady who isn't his mate to become his Luna.

He wants to feel and experience the mate bond. He wants to know what it is to feel your mate's heartbeat and thoughts.

He was already giving up after so many years of searching and was considering making Jasmine his Luna before she came. She crept into his life as a wanted theft and stole away his heart.

His mate finally came but…she was so troublesome. She hated him so much and preferred Rufus to him. But he held on tight, not wanting to let her go. He hoped one day, she would accept him and become less stubborn but he never knew that day would come so soon. He never knew she would fall for him and even agree to marry him.

His only sexual entanglement had been Jasmine. The rest of the girls, he only flirts with them but never advances further. Jasmine was the only one capable of bringing out his sexual urge though it was totally different from that of Aurora.

With Aurora he felt his whole body hardening for her. He just can't resist her attraction. It totally wiped away every other feminine trace around him. He feels nothing around girls other than his mate. That was when he knew she was the one and he would never let go.

It seems he made the right decision.

Alpha Jax had seen the love between his parents until their death. They were inseparable. They stuck to each other like glue. He wished his love life would be the same or even more than his parents. He was very disappointed…and sad when Aurora despised him.

He wanted to let Aurora go but he just couldn't. He needed to make it work. He wanted someone who was like his mother. A mate he would cuddle up with whenever he comes back home.

The former Luna, his mother, was a very caring and understanding woman who loved her husband and son so much.

He also loves his mother so much and he was devastated after her death. They were assassinated. His mother has been one of the most beautiful women he had ever met.

Sometimes he pictures his mother's face in Aurora. Maybe that's one major reason for his attraction apart from the mate bond. Aurora was one hell of a gorgeous woman just like his mother. Elegant, fearless and outspoken. A quality his mother possessed.

"Congratulations Alpha", Gamma Enrique's voice rang out behind him.

"Thanks Enrique", Alpha Jax smiled.

"Alpha, are you sounding the Royal howl?", Gamma Enrique asked.

"Yes, everyone needs to know so they can come for the welcoming party", Alpha Jax replied.

"Okay, Alpha. I will be here with her. Don't worry about her", Gamma Enrique suggested.

"Thank you. I need to head to the hilltop to make the announcement. And Enrique, I need you to change my Luna to a private ward", Alpha Jax said as he planted a wet kiss on Aurora's cheek. She stirred as she felt the wetness on her cheek.

"Roger that, Alpha", Gamma Enrique said smiling. The almighty Alpha does have a weakness.

His mate.

Gamma Enrique has always seen the fierce side of Alpha Jax since he became his Gamma except when they are out together as friends. He had always assigned him to take care of his Uncle, Max.

The only time they are together is on the training ground.

Alpha Jax smiled as he left reluctantly. He never thought he could be this clingy towards a woman but here he was, not willing to leave Aurora's sight. He wants to be stucked on bed with her as glue, holding each other tightly and single hullabaloo into each other's ear.

It has always been a tradition amongst the Blood Moon Pack that whenever an Alpha is expecting an heir or heiress, he announces it's arrival by making the Royal howl for thirty minutes using a peculiar sound recognizable to the Pack's inhabitants only.

Alpha Jax left the hospital feeling elated. He was going to be a father and he was so excited to make the Royal howl.

"Ares, we are going to have a baby. I am so excited but according to tradition, I have to give you the floor. Are you ready?", Alpha Jax asked his wolf.

"I have been ready since I saw our mate. Bring it on Jax'', Ares answered feeling ecstatic.

Alpha Jax immediately sprinted to the forest opposite the hospital. He transformed into his wolf and ran deeper into the forest. He needs to hurry up to the hillside. He can't wait to tell the world he had finally become a man.

Alpha Jax knew his uncle would be elated when he got the message. Uncle Max had been waiting for an heir or heiress for a long time.

He kept on running for more than thirty minutes before he came to a hilltop covered with little fragile flower blooms. The place looked eerie but divine. More like a spiritual abode to the werewolves in this Pack.

His father had always brought him to this place claiming it gave him positive vibes. One day, he had asked his father the meaning of this place. His father promised to tell him when he grows older.

Some years later, his father brought him here when he became an Alpha-in-waiting.

"Jax, this is a special abode founded by our ancestors. They believe in sharing their joys through divine means. When they are victorious in battle, they run up to this hill to howl. When a royal child is expected, this hill stands as the divine connection to reach out to the people. It is believed that the joyful spirits of all the ancestors reside here", His father said.

"Father, what's your belief?", Jax asked.

"My belief…it's actually very simple, I tend to believe in positivity and neglect the negativity. I believe every belief steamed from what you chose to believe in your heart. And…I believe our ancestors are right", his father replied with a smile.

"I don't understand, father", Jax said looking confused.

"I tend to believe any belief that embodies good tidings. It means that I believe in the stories associated with this hill because it points to positive energy being spread around", his father replied.

"Oh…I get it now. You mean you believe this tale because it's for a joyous purpose, right?", Jax asked.

"Yes, my son but I can't force you to believe in my beliefs. Remember, you are what you tend to make yourself. Just keep enjoying the spirituality here, it will help your mind", his father said, rubbing his hair.

Alpha Jax remembered their words clearly that day. He thought deep about what his father had said. He agreed with his father and that has been his driving force. But after his death, he stopped coming.

He looked around the hilltop. He had stopped coming here since the death of his parents. This had been one place he usually lay to ward his mind away from worries but after his loss, he stopped coming here so he won't be reminded of his father.

Alpha Jax thought about that face that looked beautiful lying on the hospital bed. His mind travelled to when the doctor announced she was pregnant…with his child.

He was so excited that he let the joy surrounding him pierce into his soul. He let out a long howl filled with his emotions.

His Joy…his fulfilment…and his thanks to the Moon goddess.

Finally, he has found his peace…in Aurora Patterson, his mate…his Luna.

The whole pack was filled with his howl for thirty minutes. Immediately he stopped, several howls were heard from all around the Pack as they all acknowledged their Alpha's Joy.
