Chapter 17: Chapter 17
The pub was booming with loud music as various girls with skimpy dresses strolled leisurely. The girls around flocked around some handsome boys. Shaking their booties to the rhythm of the Lloyd music blastering through the giant speakers.
The air around the pub was lively and fun but all of a sudden, the air became stifled as the dashing Alpha Jax came inside alongside his Beta. The people around either kept silent or talked in hushed tones. He was looking so terrifying that even the call girls dare not get close to him. Terrific and drop dead gorgeous.
A middle aged man with potbelly hurried to the Alpha and his Beta. He was shaking as he ushered them to a secluded spot more like a beautiful cabin meant for the rich and powerful.
The man beckoned on two beautiful girls who were scantily dressed. They swayed their hips as they smiled seductively at them though they were a little frightened. They sat on both sides of Alpha Jax who had his eyes closed as soon as he sat on the huge couch.
Wines were served to them by a sexy waitress who almost spilled the wine. Beta Rufus immediately waved her off so as not to upset the angry Alpha more. She gave him a grateful nod before leaving.
"En..joy your..self, Sir '', the pot bellied man stammered as he bowed deeply with a forced smile.
Beta Rufus chuckled as he looked at the man who looked like someone who wanted to faint. He could see how scared he was and how his inner body was shaking though he tried maintaining calmness.
"You can leave now", Alpha Jax waved him off.
The man bowed again and scurried off with a terrified expression. He only knew how relief he felt when he heard that order. He wondered why the almighty Alpha was looking so scary today.
The girls were visibly shaken but they braced themselves towards the handsome but angry Alpha who they needed to pacify.
Beta Rufus leaned forward to whisper into his ears.
"You are scaring the girls. Can you please loosen your expression?"
"If they can't even cheer me up, what use are they?", He replied icily.
"Don't worry, Alpha. I am here. I will definitely make you feel good", a voice rang out.
Beta Rufus turned to see a stunning girl all dolled up and looking so pretty. She had thick makeup on and her eyes roamed all over Jax's body. She licked her lips as she drew closer. She stared dagger at the girls who immediately shifted from the Alpha.
"You girls can get lost now", she said arrogantly", he is mine, now shoo".
The girls threw her a dirty look as they left the cabin. Jax only chuckled as he stared at the girl. Beta Rufus also got up to give them privacy.
"I was waiting for you, Jasmine", he said as he drew the girl close to himself. The girl wrapped her hands around him as he kissed her roughly.
NEW YORK
Craig stared at the girl on his shoulders. He felt pity for her. She had to carry the burden of her family at a young age. He guessed the stress had made her do all sorts of odd jobs and…stealing. He pitied her.
He looked at her again and saw she had fallen asleep while sitting on the swing. He patted her shoulder to wake her up.
"Rora, wake up. It's time to leave. It's getting late. Let's go before Aunt would start getting worried about us", Craig said as he woke her up gently.
"Uh? I slept off? Sorry, you must have felt stiff for staying upright for a long time", Aurora apologized as she rubbed her eyes.
"It's okay. Let's go", Craig said.
They walked silently along a quiet alley that leads to a huge forest. Aurora's countenance changed as they passed through that place. Something is not right, she thought silently. It looks too creepy tonight. She suddenly turned to Craig.
"Craig, I think you should just spend the night with us. It's late and…I think it's a full moon", Aurora said worriedly
"Full moon? What's so special about it?"
"Did you remember I told you how this night felt like the first time I turned. If my intuition is correct, tonight is going to be dangerous for humans. I don't want you to get hurt", she said.
"You are just feeling tired, Rora. There's no such… I mean tonight isn't a full moon. And you don't need to feel scared. Nothing is going to happen to me", Craig assured.
"Please listen to me, Craig. It isn't safe for you. Am feeling it", she insisted pleadingly.
"Come on, Rora. When did you become so chicken hearted? I will be okay. Come on, we are at your house already. You can go in. Tell Aunt I will see her tomorrow", he said as he started walking away.
"Craig…", she wanted to argue but he had already left. She sighed as she went into the house. But she was having a bad feeling about this night.
"You have to protect him, Rora. Tonight is a full moon. He might get hurt", Aliya said.
"I told you to get off my head. I hate when you intrude into my life", she shouted as she shut her wolf out.
Her mother and sister had fallen asleep. She walked sluggishly to her bed. She was so tired after all the drinks and movement today. She closed her eyes to sleep but couldn't even sleep because she was feeling uneasy.
"Will you be able to forgive yourself if something happens to him? He is your friend, your best friend at that", Aliya questioned again.
"I told you to get lost, didn't I? You are just too nosy", Aurora said.
But deep down she became worried. What would she do if something really happened to him? She won't be able to live with the guilt all her life, she thought.
She groaned as she got up from the bed and walked towards the door. She had to make sure he got home safely.
Her heart was pounding as she walked closer to the alley leading to the forest. Suddenly there was a familiar shout and a growl.
"Craig!", She shouted as she quickly ran into the forest.
