Chapter 12: Chapter 12

"So you really skipped work just because of that man Craig? What was that his name again?" Aurora asked her best friend as they both walked home.

She couldn't believe Craig would refuse to go to his workplace when his shift started just because the dude from the other day finally gave him a chance.

"What would you have me do then? I waited for him throughout the morning hours and when it was time for me to go, he appeared and actually sat before me, and you think I'll throw away every effort just for that coffee shop? Duh!" Craig rolled his eyes.

"You just amaze me Craig. Like how many more people would you roll with as you call it?" Aurora asked raising her brows as she stopped walking.

"Darling you have no idea what you're missing, if only you could have a taste of a man, you will not stand here to ask me such questions" Craig smiled.

"There's nothing to taste Craig... I do not have to taste anything before I know what is right and wrong.

"You don't have to rush over to every cute man you see just because you feel they are cute and you want them".

"Look I know you're so cute that no gay would see you and look pass but you have to mellow down. What if you go to work tomorrow and they tell you off?" Aurora scolded.

Craig shook his head. "Nah don't day that Rora. No one would sack me, I would give them a very reasonable excuse, probably tell them I was so sick and was rushed to the hospital.

"Stop worrying about me and get yourself a man, if not for nothing atleast to enjoy what I'm enjoying" Craig said grinning widely.

"Get away from me.. I do not need a boyfriend or whatever you call it, the only thing I need now is money to take care of my family so keep on enjoying, I'm going to the city so take yourself home" Aurora muttered and walked off.

"Craig stared at her retrieving figure and smiled. "Such a sweet cupcake"

Next Day at the Wine Bar...

"please Rora, help me take the order of table 8, I got my period and I need to rush home and change please" Jenny begged rubbing her hands together.

Aurora sighed and nodded. She had a lot of tables to take care of and now Jenny is adding hers.

"No problem, take care of yourself" Aurora muttered and Jenny hugged her before running out of the bar.

"What are you doing standing there, have you attended to all these people?" Big Mandy scolded and Aurora quickly walked to a table which was already empty She packed the plates and turned around to leave but looking at the man sitting beside the table, her eyes widened. On the table was a wallet carelessly tossed aside.

The man's eyes was pinned on his phone and the best part was he was putting on a mask and she was sure he wouldn't notice her if she distracts him.Glancing down at the table, she saw the number 8 boldly inscribed on it.

"Great, that was the table Jenny told her to attend to. She smiled and hurried off to drop the plates on her hands.

"You would soon be mine" she whispered looking intently at the black wallet.Dropping the plates, Aurora made her way back to table number 8 plastering a smile on her face.

"Good day sir, Do you mind me getting you anything else?" Aurora asked the masked man who was still busy operating on his phone and didn't even act as if someone just spoke.

"Sir are you hearing me? I said would you mind me getting you something else?" Aurora asked again thinking the man didn't hear her due to the mask on his face.

"You ain't the one incharge of this table so don't ask me" she heard the man muttered coldly.

"Oh, Jenny handed the table to me, she had an emergency so she had to rush" Aurora replied him but he said nothing else to her.

He didn't even raise his head to look at her, his face was pinned on his phone screen all through leaving Aurora wondering how he was able to tell she wasn't the one serving the table.

"Sir"

"Get lost!!!" His voice was firm, scary and commanding but Aurora was not scared of his tone.

In order not to cause a problem, she turn around to leave but then, a gunshot sounded shattering the window closed to the table she was standing with the man.

Commotion rose in the bar as everyone began scampering off. Aurora took the opportunity to drag the wallet, placing it under her skirt and rushing into the changing room.

Bolting the door, Aurora brought out the wallet and emptied it on the floor.

"Wtf!!! She half yelled on seeing the content of the wallet. Her eyes widened to the point of bulging.

"How on earth will a man be carrying this huge amount of money in his wallet and carelessly dropped it on the table" Aurora thought and began counting the money.

"Twenty whooping thousand dollars!!!" She screamed lowly excitement quickly tucking the money back in her bag.

"Don't you think you should return it? This money is too big for you to keep, what if he tracks you down?" Her wolf Aliya said.

"And who asked for your opinion here? Haven't I told you to mind your business and leave me the hell alone? Who invited you here" Aurora shrieked trying to shut the wolf out.

"You know I can't possibly leave you alone Rora. We are one and cannot do without each other.

"I think you should return that money because that man isn't an ordinary man even though he hid his scent, I could still tell he wasn't a human" Aliya said trying to get Aurora to listen to her but Aurora gave no two shits about whatever some wolf thinks and certainly do not care.
