Chapter 80: Chapter 80

"Who's calling you?" Adonis' voice was still unassuming, but as I glanced at him, all the fun I had felt earlier vanished. It felt as if reality had struck me and informed me what my true purpose was. I've promised myself I'm going to let myself to be happy, so I'm not sure why I'm still into this. I hugged myself and hung up the phone. Can I grid everything? It's as if I'm drowning in the water and can't breathe. It's as if he told me what my true mission is, and I'm now standing next to Adonis. My head shook as I looked at Adonis and assured him that there was no problem.

The phone rang again and I jolted.

"Adonis, I only need to answer the project call," I replied, pointing to my phone, even if I was lying. I dashed out the door and didn't answer the phone for fear of being overheard. After I got out of the hospital, my phone rang again. Cole hasn't given up contacting me after a few rings. Before taking up the phone, I swallowed many times. I remained silent because I wanted him to tell me what he needed me to do, even though I already knew. My lips were practically ripped as he began to talk. Due to the bite of my teeth on my lips,it appeared as if my lip would shatter.

“Luna, I missed you, how are you? It has been a while and you are not contacting me, I feel sad because of that.” His voice is full of mockery, does he know where I am now? "However, you seem to have forgotten what we talked about." I heard the sound of the bottle in his background and I knew I shouldn't think about it anymore but I couldn't help but feel the sound of the bottle, I felt someone beating my back. “Looks like you're enjoying yourself, do you know the big issue today? Maybe you don't because you're busy with your fantasy life and love.” In the tone of his speech as if he wasn't Cole, this is not how Cole would talk to me but I was more bothered by what he said.

I won't be shocked if he follows me. After he expresses his desires, I will inform him that I will not follow the two of us' plans. I don't want us to plan anything else. Every day, I wake up and beg to the Lord that he would forgive me since I loved the person who murdered my parents. If he does not accept my repentance, I will apologize to my parents and the people afflicted, in the next life.

"Say anything you want because you can never call me again because I have already made a decision—" I didn't complete what I was about to say next because he hurled the bottle loudly where my hands trembled even more. I'm at a loss on what to do since I'm frightened of him. I put the phone away from my ear  when he yelled loudly. He was like a beast who had escaped from his cage, and I was his adversary, and he needed to be hunted. I placed my phone back to my ear after I believed he had calmed down since I didn't know what to do or say to him.

"You make me excited about the vengeance you promise, then you simply leave me hanging in the air.  I can accomplish that, Luna, but did you know you can become my ally simply by listening to what I say.” I couldn't comprehend what he was saying, but I could tell by his tone that he knew something. He proceeded since I didn't say anything. "Did you realize that while your loving Adonis is turning you around, he is gradually plundering the Everdeens' wealth?  That you should inherit. You have no idea, don't you? Because you are drowning in your delusory fantasy that he also loves you, despite the fact that your fortune is his only actual interest. You're pitiful; you're so desperate for love that it's blinding you.”

I didn't finish what he was saying because I was rushing to put down the phone. Because of what he uttered, I catch my breath. I wish I could close my ears so I wouldn't believe me. I didn't want to hear what he was saying, but it sounded like his voice was echoing in my ear.

When I first entered the hospital, I didn't see that there was a large screen inside showing the news. I was ready to go on and ignore it when Adonis' face flashed on the screen. I expected it to be revealed that he was in the hospital, and I wasn't incorrect, but I was caught aback by the news on the scene that he was going to build a new building and in that location, where he says the land of my parents. In Madrid.  Cole wasn't lying when he stated that, I thought I could trust Adonis again. I no longer mind the fact that I am seated on the floor and that my brain appears to be floating in space.

I instinctively lifted my hand, took up my phone, and phoned the number I had vowed never to contact again. I already stated that all of our stupid planning should be end, yet here I am again, with another plan in which I know I will be the only one to bear the suffering for myself. Cole made a sound using his tongue as he answered the phone, and I could picture his expression.

“Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. You haven't had an hour, Luna, so why is the wind changing so quickly?" He laughed like a demon, but my gaze was fixed on the screen.

"I'll give you the details next week."
