Chapter 185: Chapter 185

Luna point of view

"Oh." I let go of Adonis and walked up to Athen, squatting to bring our faces back to a level. Perhaps Adonis isn't accustomed to being addressed as "daddy," particularly now that he has no recollection of what happened to him. He was probably completely unaware that he was the father of a kid. The only thing on my mind right now is Jessica's baby, but I won't allow Adonis to be taken away by that lady.

"Athens, please go back to your room. I'll come back later to discuss some stuff with you. Remember to stay with Aunt Leilani till I return." I rose to my feet and leaned over to kiss her on the forehead.

Athen didn't let go of my hand, and she stared at Adonis with a gentle expression. She seems to want to touch Adonis, but she takes no action due to what is currently happening. I merely offered her a sweet smile and assured her that everything would be fine and that she would soon be reunited with her father. I'm not sure when everything will be fine again. However, I hope that everything will return to normal in the short period of time he is with me.

Athen didn't say anything other than a simple nod. She went carefully and then turned to face Adonis again, who was taken aback by what she had just uttered earlier. I saw that Adonis was just standing there staring at her as she finally went, but she didn't question who that small child was.

What a hoot.

Before, I couldn't separate them from each other, but now Adonis doesn't recognize her at all. I don't want to think about how difficult it must have been for Athen to go through this. It hurts me like hell when he doesn't recognize me at first, what about Athen, who is so devoted to his father?

I let out a sigh.

"Let's go inside the house so you can get some rest as well. Your room is not dirty since I used to make certain that they cleaned your room on a regular schedule. Please let me know if you want food or anything else, since our rooms are next to one another."  I simply keep chatting, and he doesn't say anything back to me. It's all well with me. If he doesn't feel comfortable talking to us, there's nothing I can do about it.

"Even so, Jessica has been sleeping next to me."

He muttered something completely out of nowhere, and I had no idea what he was talking about.

"Can you tell me what you mean?" We both came to a complete halt. When he mentioned Jessica's name at this moment, I had already locked my gaze on him as I tried to keep my temper in check. Jessica used to be someone he despised. What exactly has happened here? Will he put on a depress and sad front owing to the fact that Jessica isn't at his side?

"I don't want to be here," he coldly said.

"But, you are the legal owner of this property."

"Yet, this is not my home. My home is with Jessica.”

In light of what he stated just now, I decided to let go of his hand. I had lost the grin that I had been wearing today. Because they were already trembling, I placed my hand behind my back to steady them. I was unable to respond to what he said because a huge rock had been lodged in my throat. How is it that Jessica is the one you are seeking for despite the fact that I am right next to you?

“No. You've arrived at your home, and the youngster you saw earlier is your daughter!" Because I couldn't stop shouting, he was clearly shocked by it.

"This can't possibly be true. Jessica is my fiancée, and we are planning to plan a wedding. She is also pregnant so don't lie. Why am I here?"

I looked at him even colder on the ice. “You used to believe everything I said. When I say something, you believe immediately because you said, as long it is comes from my mouth, you will trust me. What happened?" I wanted to tell him that but I just didn't say it.

“I told you this is your home but you don't believe me. Do I still need a pen and mark in your brain that Jessica is just fooling you? Is she making you believe in something that is not true?”

“Don't talk about something like that— oh! Ahh.” He grabbed his head and couldn't continue what he was going to say.

"Adonis!" I quickly supported his hand so that he would not fall to the ground. But when I was about to help him, he pushed me hard, so I fell.

“Don’t touch me! Don't call me by that name! I am not Adonis! I am Charles!”

I stared at him but stopped arguing because all I could think about now was his situation. He would obviously have difficulty speaking because of his headache.

"Sir Adonis!" Mark ran towards us and almost fell so he could just help Adonis. Adonis let Mark help him.

Mark escorted him inside and I was left just standing and watching him. I guess, that's okay too, isn't it? The important thing is that he is here and he needs the support of others. Everything is fine with me as long as he doesn't plan to go back to Jessica.

Everything is all right.

Everything is all right.

No.

It's not.

Tears welled up in my eyes and I just forced myself to sit on the ground. I'm having a hard time with the situation between the two of us.

When I realize it, there is already small hands wrapped around my back.
