Chapter 149: Chapter 149
When the old woman saw my eagerness and the seriousness of my face, she stopped laughing. I’ll take all of any small possibilities. Even if it's still impossible. The woman faked her cough and went out of her door and closed it.
She walked past a large coconut tree just next to her house. She raised her hand and pointed it somewhere.
We followed where she was pointing with our eyes.
“Just go along that road. Then you will find houses. Just ask the name Sasha, I am certain they already know who you are looking for.” She turned to us again and looked at me. "My advice to you, when someone tries to hit you, just ignore them because you will definitely only get into trouble."
I was horrified by what she said and I swallowed. Mark and Raymond were already ahead and didn't seem to listen to what the woman warning.
Mark and Raymon turned to me. So I started to take steps as well. I smiled and took her hand.
"Thank you very much for your advice."
She just nodded and turned her back on me. I turned my attention to the two who was still waiting for me to follow.
I looked at the old woman again but she was no longer looking at me and just continued walking.
We had already walked the path she had pointed out to us, but I did not think that our descent would not be easy because of the muddy road. Maybe it was because of the strong strorm last night.
When Mark noticed that I was having difficulty walking, they took my hand and helped me get down even though their clothes were already muddy.
I don’t know what went into my brain and all of a sudden my tears dripped when I saw how dirty their clothes were. If Adonis were here, he wouldn't make his guard dirty, but just because I wanted them to help me, they still sympathize with my suffering.
"Ma'am Luna?"
"Miss Luna!"
They pronounced my name together but I just raised my hand to show them they had nothing to worry about. They heard my sobs so they became anxious.
“Did you step on anything? Did you get hurt?” It was Mark who asked me.
"Sorry ..." I couldn't help but whisper in the air..I know they know that my apology is for them.
"What for?" Raymond now asked.
"Because of me, you keep doing this thing." I still don’t look up to them.
"You don't have to apologize ma'am because we also want to accompany you—"
Raymond couldn't finish what he wanted to say when Mark suddenly cut him off.
“And we don't want Sir Adonis to come back and fire us because we didn't serve you properly. We will surely make her mad because we let you get dirty and cry.” Our conversation suddenly became light because of the two of them joking.
We got past the way we were going through and continued on again. As we got closer and closer we could already hear the loud shouting and also children. I suddenly remembered Athen.
When we got to what the old woman said to where was a lot of huts, I saw the folks. They all looked at us at once because of our sudden arrival.
They probably didn’t expect us to arrive. Raymond pulled me up and carried me behind him. I am now in the middle of the two of them.
Even with my forehead furrowed, I just couldn't calm down. Maybe they are scared because of the aggressive human eye. Even I was scared but I didn't show it too much.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" An old man approached us, and most of the people on the islands were elderly.
What they are wearing is made of fabric which I think is a symbol of their culture. This is very different from what we used to wear in the city. I wandered my eyes to dare to see Adonis but my eyes only returned to the old man who also followed my every move.
"I'd like to know if you know anything about the plane—"
My eyes widened as I landed behind Mark. I looked at them in surprise but he continued what I was about to say.
"We want to know if Sasha lives here." Mark tightened his grip on me as if he wanted to tell me to stop talking and they would take care of it.
“Who is Sasha? We don't know anyone by that name, just get out of here!” The old man's voice rose and turned away.
He was greeted by two handsome men who were also glaring at us. Because of what he said I just wanted to get involved in their conversation.
When I was about to open my mouth, Mark looked down at me and whispered, “ Get a grip of yourself. We need to show them that we have no other intentions. If they discover that we just came here to get come information, what the old woman we talked to earlier warned that we were just looking for trouble will come true.”
I withdrew my arm from him. I thought they hadn’t been listening before. I think of them too superficially. Adonis would not let them stay if the capacity of these two was incompetent.
“Okay. I won't.”
Mark was still wondering if he would let me go. Eventually, he release me because he knew he had nothing against my stubbornness.
"We're here to help her!" I had to raise my voice to make sure the old man was actually stopping to listen to me.
I wasn’t mistaken because he stopped but didn’t move.
“Have you heard about Guangdong? How it became better?" I asked.
“What is your point?” Even he's old his jaw is still locking and clenching.
