Chapter 145: Chapter 145

Luna POV

He just nodded and made no comment. I'm sure he's interested about what I'm going to say, but he doesn't show it. I drew further closer in order for him to hear me well and I could lowered my voice.

“About Leilani—”

He cut me off before I could continue speaking.

“You think differently, ma’am. Whatever is going on in your head, I want to advise you to disregard it; I am not who you believe I am." He spoke it solemnly, yet it remains casual. He re-adjusted his position.

"Such is satisfactory in that case. Even if there is chemistry between both of you, I want you to understand that feeling for her. She is married and it's a sin against the law and in the sight of God."  I stopped beating around the bush and told the truth.

He was unable to respond to what I said, and so I touched him on the shoulder. That seems to be a bullseye. Even though he was merely feeling adoration, his eyes revealed how much he liked Leilani's irritated face. Leilani is a married person, even though she claims they are legally separated. I also do not want Raymond to get dependent on her.

"You have nothing to worry about."

Because of what he said, I turned around and left.

The many types of thorns are indeed inescapable in any form of love. I can't exactly say Raymond feels for Leilani, but it is still going on. It's just preferable for him to cut off whatever emotion he's experiencing straightaway, since the wider the gulf you've established, the worse the damage.

I returned to the garden and saw Leilani smiling as she spoke with Athen. I rushed towards them, eager to join in on their talk. Since Leilani has been here, I haven't had an issue because she isn't really horrible; she simply has an aggravating aspect of the habit.

“Oh! Your mommy is here.” Leilani spoke while Athen positioned to sit down.

"What's going on?" I greeted them with an open grin.

"There is nothing; I just realize that having a child is a great and warm feeling.”

“And why is that?”

"While I was still in Luke's care, I never had the opportunity to interact with other people because he desired that I remain at home. Even when I brought up the subject of wanting children with him, he became agitated."  Her countenance remained unaffected, but her voice became weaker.

"It was only when I was released from his jail that I saw the beauty of my surroundings, despite their chaos." She pretended to chuckle. "How ironic, because even though our garden at his mansion is lovely, I don't understand the use in them because I'm the only one watching the flowers dance."

I was stunned in response to what she said, as Athen jumped up in her chair and embraced Leilani's neck once again.

"Don't be sad, aunty Leilani, Athens is here and mommy." My child demonstrates empathy for others and is instantly aware of where she acquired that trait.

"See?" Leilani murmured sadly, still feigning a chuckle.

"Silly." I couldn't stop myself from laughing.

"What time are we going, Mommy?" Athen slipped out of Leilani's grip. I examined the watch in my palm to calculate the time. I realized it was too early. Adonis' flight is scheduled to depart at 9 a.m.; if his travel is longer than 10 hours, we may be able to depart late at night. Athen is ecstatic, as am I.

"However, why does my husband no longer seem to care about you?" Leilani inquired abruptly as I prepared to shut my eyes. "The reason I'm hiding now is to assist you in expelling Luke, although I'm not sure I have to since he doesn't seem to be phoning you anymore."

I burst out laughing at what she said.

"The truth is... I blocked his phone number."

I saw her eyes had enlarged somewhat, but it wasn't long before she began to laugh as well. Athen just glanced about at us, as if perplexed by our hilarity.

"Of course, he will be ignorant of Adonis' home, since this is a private area." I waved at her and extended my hand; she stretched her as well, and we exchanged high fives.

Adonis POV

The rain became much more torrential. I saw some individuals returning home and canceling flights, while others remained and seemed to be in a rush. I was resolved to get home, and so I joined others who intended to continue.

It didn't take long for them to call the airplane's number. I could use a private aircraft, but I like it this way. Perhaps, as Mark says, someone is observing what I'm doing. It's better this way; they won't believe I traveled on public transit.

I wasn't scared when I boarded, but I can't deny that I was concerned since it seemed to be pouring more heavily. I'm sure the wind is stronger when it's in the air.

I just set aside my worries and closed my eyes.

Nevertheless, I was not expecting to awaken; everything was in disarray. I glanced at the other people who was already in a state of terror. Others are already rising and expressing their unhappiness. The stewards were at a loss on what to do.

"How come he has been unable to stabilize the plane?  How did we get this far?!" One American cries fiercely, while the other happens to agree.

I whipped out my phone, hoping for even a bar of connectivity, despite the fact that I knew what I wanted was unattainable. I stood as well, but was not a part of their 'panic.' I really should have listened to Mark...

Because it becomes hazy that I will see Luna and Athen again.

Everyone screamed in unison that the aircraft had really lost control.

Ah. I should have informed Luna soon so that I would have no regrets in the end.
