Chapter 108: Chapter 108

“Oh. I’m sorry.” When I saw who the two persons waiting outside were, I immediately rose and returned inside. He did not inform me about his guest. So  Athen and I were unable to hide. His female visitor is his girlfriend. I returned my attention to the dishes I was washing and saw the water leaked earlier while I was cleaning. I just ignored it, hoping that they would not go to the kitchen section. Athen and I will leave the room to do whatever they want in it. I cleaned my hands instantly and went directly to my bedroom. Athen was holding my phone and playing games.

"Athens, how about we go outside?  You are allowed to play with other children." I smiled at her, and she rose swiftly from her laying position on the bed. She stood to her feet and extended her arm, indicating that she wanted to be lifting. Even though she had gained some weight as she grew older, I continued to carry her. I took my phone away from her and set it down on the side table. We were preparing to leave when the kitchen made a loud noise. Despite my struggles, I scooped up Athen and raced over there.

I saw the woman's face sinking as she fell to the floor. I bit my lip so hard to resist laughing as she raised her face, but I instantly covered Athen's lips as she laughed out loud. Oh, my Lord. Jessica had water on her face, which I believe was caused by my earlier damp floor. She effortlessly locked her gaze on Athen and me, which prompted me to cover Athen's lips even more.

We dashed out in an attempt to evade what Athen had done, but it seemed as if we would be unable to go since the lady who was still lying on the floor called me. Adonis was only observing Jessica. Why is he refusing to assist his girlfriend? It appears that the woman will remain upset despite her situation being somewhat funny.

"What are your plans?" Her voice was angry, but she gently rose as well. I helped Athen to the floor and then took her hand in mine. I looked at the woman as if she were still angry. If she weren't a dimwit, that probably wouldn't be her position. I raised an eyebrow and gave her a perplexed look. “YOUR CHILD LAUGH AT ME!”

When she said it, her cheeks flushed. She yanked the water off her face violently while I just smirked at her. What's all the fuss about? Athens was a kid. What? Does she want to strike the child as well?

"So?" I questioned rudely. She grasped her waist and gave me a look as if she couldn't believe what she had heard at the moment. "I'm unable to stop my daughter from laughing at your situation. I nearly laughed as well. You should say thank you that I still managed to control myself. ”

Her jaw was tensed, and I saw her hand clenching as if prepared to punch. Athen and I shifted our gaze away from her. My daughter ran outside, but I had to stay because the woman spoke again. Is Adonis powerless to stop his girlfriend? It looks like it's a big deal, even it is not.

"How come you're still here" Do you believe Adonis will present himself to you?" Her voice was brimming with hatred. However, I did not surrender. I would feel ashamed of myself if it meant avoiding embarrassment in front of this person.

"Why don't you also investigate about your lover, who coerced me into having sex in the bathroom?" I maintained a blank look on my face to convey to her that I had no intention of defeating in this fight.

“SHE IS NOT MY LOVER—”

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!!" Jessica interrupted the man's speech, and I just shrugged. I believe they will quarrel over me. To be honest, it makes no difference. However, as I attempted to exit, I came to a halt as well. “YOU PROPOSE TO ME!”

Wow. This is a huge revelation.

Nevertheless, I believe my heart was not prepared due to what I heard, so I swiftly rushed and grabbed up Athen. I was oblivious that tears began to stream with each stride I made. I get the sensation of choking for reasons I do not understand. I accept that he will no longer present me at the altar, but it pains me that he offered the ring to that woman so fastly. How long have they been intimately familiar?

But then

I'm wondering as to how well I know Adonis. I have no idea who his parent is. I have no idea what he has gone through. When he brought me to their province, I had yet to visit any of the spots he often went to. I know nothing about him, so what authority do I have to bring up marriage?

I had lost track of my foot's direction. I simply want to run away and never come back. I'm concerned that I'll learn more dangerous stuff when I return. When it occurs, I'm not confident I can take it. I'm not okay yet. I'm not sure how else I'm going to survive. My pace slowed, and I saw a cottage in the distance. I wiped away all my tears, and Athen's gaze was fixed on my face. She never asks questions about why my eyes are always tearful, but I can tell she cares about me.

As we reached the cottage, I saw a guy dozing. We entered carefully enough that he would be unconscious to the sounds and could relax. Luke had taken a nap in the cabin. With the strong wind, I wanted to go to bed. I sat next to Athen and rattled my phone to hand it to her, but then realized I had left it on the side table. She yawned, and I cradled her between my legs. I observed her rapidly shut her eyes with a delightful sensation of the breeze.

I didn't realize that, little by little; I was getting drowsy. I heard the sound of plastics and opened my eyes to see a table covered with junk food goodies. Additionally, there is water and soft drinks. Luke was staring out at the sea while he ate his bread, and when I glanced in the direction he was looking, I saw the tremendous waves. As we both remained there watching the wave, he remarked.

"At times, it's nice to watch the water rise. It's as if you're transported to another world and are unconscious of how long you've been looking at it."  He kept his gaze fixed on the water, and I did the same. He was correct. Calm gives the sound waves.

"It seems serene to tell you something," I added to what he said.

My cheeks flushed as we turned to face one another, and he fixed his look on my face, which was going to enter my soul. I did the same thing to him, and my eyes enlarged behind him due to the guy standing distantly behind him.
