Chapter 49: Chapter 49
Agatha’s POV
“The new professor is really good. I learned a lot from his lesson. Literature bores me a lot. But he discussed it well. I am so glad he came.”
Sebastian spouted praises toward our new Professor. If he knows who that guy is, he will regret complimenting him, I swear.
“Oh right, about the field trip, are you going to come?”
I stopped walking, and so did Sebastian.
Lawrence is a good teacher, I admitted that. But I really could not understand why we need to go on a field trip when we were so busy reviewing for the board exams.
‘Is he nuts?’
I think there’s no point asking the obvious question.
“My Auntie won’t allow me to come, I guess,” I said as an excuse.
“Do you want me to persuade her?”
“No. Just let it be. I don’t like going in trip by the way.”
“Really? But I heard that the professor would sign a recommendation letter for us if we come to this field trip.”
“WHAT?!”
That f*cking rich b*stard. He really knew how to lure me.
“If you have a professor’s recommendation letter from the review center, they are willing to share the lists of review materials for the exams. I really think you need this since you didn’t have time to review after graduating.”
Sebastian was right. If that’s the case, I had no choice.
‘But will Lanceil allow me to go?’
“I will try asking my Auntie,” I said to Sebastian.
“Great! I’m excited to go on the field trip with you. It feels like we are in high school again.”
I laughed at Sebastian, who was acting like a child. But when I remembered that Mikhail will be on the field trip too, I doubted if it is really possible to have fun.
“I need to go now, Sebastian. Take care on your way home.”
“You sure you all right going home by yourself?”
“I am not a kid, Geez.”
We bid goodbye. It’s the first time Sebastian agreed not to fetch me back home, maybe he has another date. As for me, I deliberately cast him aside because I knew that guy would pick me up.
“Hello, my dear fiancée. Hop in,” Professor Lawrence offered, sitting inside his luxurious BMW new edition car.
His pay as a professor isn’t enough to buy a car like this. Spoiler, I knew that his real job isn’t a teacher.
“Did you fake your identity and applied as a professor in my review center school?” I asked while sitting in the passenger seat.
My FIANCE, who was wearing a pair of round glasses to make himself look clever, glanced at me while driving.
“It’s a secret. Now we have each other’s secrets. Couple goals~”
Oh my god. I will die young while talking to this ALIEN.
“You think we are a real couple?”
“We aren’t?”
“I rejected you. Remember?”
“There are times when I experienced losing my hearing capability. What did you say again?”
“Damn it. Talking to you is like talking in front of a wall.”
“You will never see a wall as handsome as me.”
Grunting, I bit my lip and looked outside the window.
‘Endure it. Once I terminate the contract, I’ll send this guy away!’
I couldn’t do what I wanted because he might expose everything to Lanceil!
“I couldn’t understand,” I mumbled, looking outside the window. “You are rich and handsome. If you only need someone to marry you to get the inheritance, then just pick a random woman.”
“I love how you praised your future husband’s capability of satisfying your eyes and your wallet.”
He has answers to every question. I understand why his lesson wasn’t boring. At that fact, I agreed with Sebastian. I might like this guy if only he’s a real professor, and he didn’t come to the review center for me.
I kept quiet, tired as hell to squabble with him. Finally, we arrived near the condominium building. I unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the door of the car.
“You’re going on the field trip, aren’t you?” he asked.
Shifting my eyes back to him, I said, “I will try my best. Don’t misunderstand it. I wanted to come, not because I am excited about spending more time with you. It’s for the recommendation letter.”
“I like realistic women,” he said, chuckling. “Then, goodluck. Do your best to persuade your boss.”
Lawrence drove away.
Standing under the streetlight post, Agatha looked up at the condo building.
‘How can I persuade Lanceil?’ I was worried.
