Chapter 20: Chapter 20
Master Damien got to the entrance of his chamber and was about to go in when a warrior ran to him panting hard as a result of the long distance to which he had ran from.
"Master" he fell to the floor prostrating before Master Damien in fear. They attacked us master, they took us unaware and struck us, as I am talking to you, the warriors are fighting over their lives in the boundaries" he panted rushing his words.
Master Damien stare at him for quite a long time before walking into his chamber not saying anything.
He got into his secret room and took two swords, changed into a red and black cloak and stepped out to still meet the warrior laying there.
"What are you still doing here? Go and get more warriors and make sure this castle is secured" he ordered and walked out in a long stride.
Galene and the ladies who were just coming back from the field where they went to watch the warriors train ran into the furious master walking in a long stride.
They could feel the deadly aura surrounding him which made them shiver, bowing down their heads till he was gone.
"The master has gotten angry, what could have happened?" Lydia muttered looking at the two other girls.
"Do you not see he was dressed for war? And have you forgotten that warrior that ran past us?" Said Mariam.
"That only made the rumor true, I think the Khran community had attacked" Galene muttered and just then, they started hearing the numerous thuds of carriage and horses.
"Let's go check out, so we would know when to run for our dear life if the need arrives" said Galene and the three of them ran hastily to the entrance of the castle hiding behind a pillar so as to not be caught.
The castle was filled with warriors all dressed in their war armour, carrying swords and spades.
Master Damien got onto a huge black horse so as every other warrior as they all got on theirs and started moving out of the castle with the master taking the lead.
"I hope he doesn't return" Galene thought looking at them from behind the pillar where she was.
"How I wish to be there to atleast watch him fight and defeat those people in a blink of an eye" whispered Lydia into Galene's ear and she scoffed not saying anything.
They are all gone, let's return and hope for good news soon" Mariam said coming out of hide.
"We all know the Master would return victorious, he had never lost a fight and I pity those people who are just going to waste their lives in the name of fighting Master Damien" Luciana chimed joining them.
"What are you doing? We thought you are not interested in watching, why are you now outside?" Mariam sassed glaring at Luciana.
"I didn't want to go with you girls doesn't mean I do not want to know what was happening around the castle, I couldn't sleep as a result of the noises so I had to come out and see what was going on" she fired returning her own glares back.
The castle was surrounded with arm guards protecting it from any attack. Can we all return in?" Galene asked already tired from standing out too long, the hot sun was beginning to hurt her skin.
The girls all turned and returned back to their room having one or more thing to say about war and the Master.
"Do you even know how powerful Master Damien is? It was rumoured he killed his father at the age of 12" Lydia stated looking around to be sure no one was listening.
"It wasn't rumoured, I heard from my father that it happened and no one knew how he escaped from it without being prosecuted" Luciana said further confirming the rumour.
"No wonder his heart is so dark" Mariam mumbled shaking her head.
"Are you talking about heart here? The master has no heart and he is a total beast, I which he doesn't return alive" Galene fumed.
"Aarrh Galene!!!" The three girls exclaimed in horror with Lydia clamping her mouth shut and Mariam rushing out to check if any guard was listening to them.
"I see you do not like your life and perhaps you enjoyed being punished, just pray no one heard you because it this got to the master, you would be as good as dead" Luciana said glaring at her.
Galene scoffed not bothered about what would happen to her if someone heard and report to the master. What more could he do other than kill her. Oh, how she hates him that she felt like appearing at that war and slashing his throat.
She hated the master for involving in slave trade and taking away her innocent as though she worth nothing.
She hated him for killing people simply because they offended him and then taking away their wifes and children to turn them into his slave.
She wished he dies in the war so everyone held under his captive will be saved but if only wishes were horses, beggers would ride.
"Watch the way you talk ill about the master Galene, the walls have ears" Mariam whispered coming back into the room after checking out the hallway for a sign of someone eavesdropping.
"No let her be, I see she enjoys the punishments she get from him, afterall he punishes her in his chambers, on top of his bed"Luciana blurted out and Galene lowered her head with tears threatening to pour from her eyes.
"Stop saying such thing Luciana, the master doesn't just punish her on the bed, he hurts her and damages her womanhood so how on earth do you that that as an enjoyment?" Lydia said scolding Luciana but she doesn't seem to care instead she stood up and walk to her bed murmuring to herself.
"Don't feel bad Galene, you should know Luciana well now, she doesn't seem to control what comes out of her mouth so just do your best to ignore her" Mariam said consoling her.
Galene simply nodded and lay her head on the bed, her gaze fixed on the ceiling as she recur the toture Master Damien made her pass through both in the dungeon and in his chambers.
She doesn't wish even her worst enemy to go through such.
