Chapter 18: Chapter 18
Master Damien sat on a high wooden stool in his room going through a scroll when a knock landed on his door and seconds later the door opened and Robin entered.
"Good morning Master" he greeted and bowed. Master Damien nodded his head in reply without raising his head from the scroll.
"My Lord, there's a message yet again from Khran community" Robin stated passing the letter to Master Damien which he collected with no expression.
"He opened the scroll and took time to read what was written on it, after a while, he hissed and crumbled the paper then threw it out of the window.
"How far have the warriors gone with their preparation," he asked Robin who was still shocked about the way the master crumbled the paper. He wondered what was written on it.
"m.My Lord, the warriors are on guard and safely securing the boundaries. They are also training incessantly" he said and master Damian nodded and waved him to leave.
Robin bowed and left the room closing the door behind him. Master Damian took his pipe from the table and started smoking it while still maintaining his blank expression.
"Wake up Galene it's morning" Mariam called out tapping the still very much asleep Galene. She stirred and squinted her eyes sleepily rubbing on them.
"Marian what's the problem" she asked and slowly got up from the bed.
"Do you want to sleep forever Galene, you've been sleeping all day, look over there, the sun is already far gone meaning you have slept have of the day already" she said and pointed at the sun.
"But I still want to sleep some more, my body aches me so much" she whined laying back down.
"Come on Galene wake up, you said your body still aches you and that is why you should get up and take your medication so you will get better" Mariam grunted and Galene finally got up and walked into the bathroom to wash her face.
"Where are the others" she asked coming out of the bathroom looking fresh as her face was glowing despite the torture she went through, she still look very dazzling.
"They are out on the field I guess, You know there had been a rumor going round the castle that there would be a war between this clan and the khran clan though we are not sure about it yet but Lydia went to find out from her relative who work as a guard and I do not know where Luciana went to" mariam answered and passed the medication to Galene who collected and gulped it down squeezing her face at the awful taste of the herb.
"A war between the Guthram clan and the Khran clan? Why war? Is something going wrong with the both clan?" Galene asked and Mariam shrugged. "I have no idea but we shall wait for Lydia to come back" she said and just then the door opened and Lydia walked in.
"Did you get to know if the rumour was true?" Mariam asked Lydia as she sauntered towards them and sat down.
"It wasn't a rumour Lydia, the warriors are preparing for the intended war and are practicing day and night" she said.
"But what could be wrong, why the war" Galene panicked and Lydia smiled.
"There should be no room for fear Galene, this I know would not be a war but a massacre since the Khran clan has no fear to come into the Guthram clan to seek for their land and threatened war, the master would wipe them off without a blink of an eye.
"How would you know? For the Khran clan to threaten war, it means that had been preparing for this a very long time ago" Galene said and Luciana concurred with her.
"No matter how well prepared they are, Master Damien still remains the king of war and no one dare defeats him" Luciana said coming towards them.
"When did you come in?" Mariam asked her. "Long enough to know what you were discussing and it's such a shame you all looked down on Master Damien, you have no idea how dangerous he could be in war front" she said and Galene scoffed, she wished he dies during the war so she could return home to her mother.
She hoped something like that could ever be possible but she doubts if it would because everyone kept believing the Master could never be defeated in war. It was rumoured he fights with eyes closed and has never been seen with an injury after fighting.
That means she has no hope of returning back to her mother but she believed that one day, she would be released and sent back to her home.
"Galene how have you been today?" Lydia asked and came to her to examine her injury which was caused by the whip. It was still fresh but she wasn't feeling the pains because of the herbs she took which helps to seize pains.
"I have been good and my back has been healing well, the herbs helps with the pain and I do not feel it that much again" she replied.
"Have you had something to eat?" Lydia asked and she shook her head. "Let me go get you something to eat" Lydia said and left the room after Galene thanked her.
Master Damien stood up from the stool he was sitting and walked back into his room, he opened a particular door which seemed to be a hidden door to a secret room. The door was in his room but it could not be easily detected and it was hidden behind his shelf where he kept different scrolls and one would not notice there was an entrance there.
He pushed the door and it creaked open revealing a room with many war tools and equipment ranging from different spades and bows, swords of different sizes and shapes all were hanged in the war of the room.
Human skulls and animals were also hanged on the left corner of the room giving it a scarely view.
