Chapter 12: Chapter 12

"No the master would notice her absence as she was still new and worst is that tonight was her turn to warm his bed and he would not hesitate to kill her and her family if he finds out".

"Oh gods of Careen!!! please come to my aid as I am in dire need of your help" she mumbled a short prayer with her eyes close.

Shortly after, she sighted a horse rider coming her way and she started waving her hands indicating she needed help. The horse rider stopped and she pleaded with him to atleast lift her to where she could get a carriage going to Guthram and he agreed almost immediately not wanting to ignore the ethereal beauty in front of him.

She got onto the horse and the man rode off happily as he was hoping to get to know the pretty lady on his horseback. He planned on knowing where she came from when he drop her as they wouldn't be able to communicate well because he won't be seeing her beautiful face as she was sitting behind him and he would like to gaze into her eyes while conversing with her.

After a very long and back aching ride for Galene, the finally got to Guthram Clan as the man offered to take her there claiming to be going there also.

She told him to stop a little distance from the castle do she could be able to sneak back in without anyone having to see her. When he stopped, she muttered words of appreciation and immediately ran off not giving him the space to speak.

She do not have all the time to listen to what he was saying as she had already spent so much time at the roadside and arriving here and she was sure the master had found out already.

By the time Galene got the the castle gate, she became confused on how she could get back in. The guard who had sneaked her out was nowhere around the gate. "He was supposed to be here in order to get me back in" she thought frustrated after hiding at a nearby bush for hours.

When she got tired of hiding, she decided to follow the secrete pathway in which she was sneaked out from.

She knew there would be guards there by now and decided to go try her luck as the guard had told her few people knew about the door and hence, not much guard stand by it as most times, no one guard it because it was built and hidden in such a way people thought it was a wall.

She hurriedly walked towards the woods looking around confusedly. She couldn't decipher which path to follow as there were many path and she couldn't recognize the one that lead to the castle.

Every path she followed brought her back to the same spot she started from. She tried so many times and it still brought her back to the same spot.

She was already getting tired and it was already very dark. Birds chirps in the woods and goosebumps covered her skin. She wasn't friendly with darkness as it frightens her alot and considering she was in the woods, she started wailing loudly as fear consume her every passing minute.

Master Damien stood by his terrace gazing up the sky. He heard his door opening and Robin's voice followed. "My Lord she's nowhere to be found in the castle".

He glanced back raising his brows at Robin who bowed repeating his statement.

"What was the meaning of that Robin? Are you telling me that the new slave I sent for is nowhere to be found in this castle?" He roared and Robin nodded frightened. "Yes my Lord" I had the guards search around everywhere for her and I queried her roomates but none seemed to know where she was" he replied and Master Damien corked his lips coldly.

"Go and look for her and make sure she is brought back to this castle in an hour time" he muttered, his voice emitting a deadly aura. Robin bowed and immediately rushed out to carry out the master's order.

Master Damien walked back into his room, picking up his pipe, he inhaled continuously and puffed out thick smoke.

He picked up his royal cup and poured out wine from a jug sitting on his table as he walked towards his royal bed and sat down, downing the wine and puffing out smokes from his pipe.

"If she stepped out of this castle and try running away, then he would wipe out all her family members including her. How dare she step out of this castle without my permission" he growled puffing out more smokes.

Galene stood in the lonely and dark bush tired of wailing continuously and crying for help. She had tried running but she kept felling and she's sure she had gotten lots of scratches as her body aches her terribly.

She heard sounds metres away from her and her heart sanked into her chest. "Maybe the demons of the forest had come for her or maybe it was sounds from wild animals.

She had heard about the forest demons and how they devour people at night from her late grandmother's tales and she wondered if they were the ones making the noises.

"Is this how I would die? leaving mother to suffer alone in this world and making father believe I was a failure as he always say" she thought clutching her chest very tightly.

The sound advanced closer and it seems they were lots of them as they were obviously matching towards her direction. She looked around fearfully but could not see the things making the noise as the woods was pitch dark, making it difficult for her to see anything.

She heard little mumbling and then she saw dim light from a very far distance. Her doubt was cleared as she knew it was the forest demons coming for her. She let out a pierced scream and slumped down.
