Chapter 37: Chapter 37
KRISTIN
Someone needs to get me help before June completely drives me crazy—in more ways than one.
What does she mean by, 'Well, since you are now dating, I don't think I'm returning home anytime from now'?
What the hell does that even mean? I only said that to make her come the fuck home, not do the opposite!
I thought she said she loved me... She said that. I can clearly remember the look of warmth in her eyes when she seduced me. I can remember the mix of lust and love that I always pushed away because it came from her.
For someone she claims that she loves, fighting for that person shouldn't be difficult. Or isn't that the reason she hates Edith?
Yes, hate is the word. June hates Edith and everything about her.
I collapsed on a sofa in the sitting room and exhaled. I always thought that my life was perfect. I have a niece who loves me, a stable source of income, and access to women of my choice.
One morning, I suddenly woke up to see that June was slowly disrupting the image of that perfection... God help me...
My hatred for Mark is out of this world. There are only three words I can spare for the snake: vile, evil, perverted...
Sighing again, I looked out of the window in the sitting room. The sun was nowhere to be seen. The streetlamps were on, shining a path on the sidewalk.
The scene brought a realization: June would sleep with Mark for the night.
The thought of her sleeping with Mark also made me realize that there was more than one definition of "sleep."
My eyes bulged out. I rushed away from the window and kicked the sofa so hard that a blistering pain shot from my foot and straight into my head.
"Fuuuuuck!" I hissed in pain and clutched the affected foot, limping to a sofa for support. Fuck Mark and his whoring cock that he intends to stick into June!
I gritted my teeth, my breath coming out in gasps. The pain settled, but the turmoil decided to fix a temporary habitation in the front of my head.
"Not a headache," I groaned. Edith's call came in almost immediately. I contemplated not picking, but then, why the fuck shouldn't I? June was probably on her knees between Mark's legs, slurping on his cock. Either that or she was on all fours taking that bastard's dick from behind, moaning with her eyes closed. She has company; I deserved company too.
"Hey, Edith."
Her voice filtered from the phone, calm and very peaceful. "Hey, Kristin. What are you up to?"
"Kicking the sofa," I replied truthfully and chuckled. I don't think she heard the chuckle, or if she did, she probably thought I was trying to cover up the truth.
"Why the hell are you kicking the sofa?" she asked, worry coating every word. "Wait, where is June?"
"Not back yet." I sighed and rubbed my sore foot. "I don't think she is coming back tonight. She said that to me."
There was a pause on the other side, and then Edith said, "I am coming over."
Before I could give a reply, the call disconnected.
Left with nothing to do, I reclined on the sofa and massaged my foot. My mind could not stay in a place; my imagination could not stop picturing June with Mark in a sexual way—an annoying sexual way. I don't want that pig to touch my niece!!
Agitated, and worried that the harm could have been done already, I fumbled for my phone and dialled June. She didn't pick.
I dialled again. She didn't pick.
I continued dialling. I must have called her about nine times before a knock sounded on the front door.
"Come in," I mumbled, knowing it would be none other than Edith.
She walked in, dressed in cotton trousers and a loose shirt. She had a small designer bag hanging from her left shoulder.
Trust Edith to rock a simple wear in style.
"Kristin..." I didn't know I was on my feet until she dropped her bag and pulled me into a hug. "Hey, you okay?"
I didn't respond. I was too focused on tapping warmth and strength from her. She's scented nicely, a beautiful mix of womanly fragrance and a flowery perfume.
When we pulled away from each other, she initiated a conversation, "I guess you really needed that."
"I did. Thanks. God, I feel so stressed."
"I know," She palmed my face and led me to a couch. "What happened? You called her?"
"Yes, I did. She said she isn't coming back anytime soon."
"What did you say to her?"
"I..." Would it be a good idea to tell Edith? I let out some parts of the story, "I told her that we are dating..."
"You did?" she asked. She didn't look concerned or worried, rather she shrugged nonchalantly. "Did that make her mad?"
"I think it did. I meant to make her concerned and come home since she doesn't go very well with you." I was sorry to add that last part, but it's the truth.
"Have you had something to eat?" she suddenly asked out of the blue.
"No," I shook my head. "I am not hungry."
"Go to bed. I will be there in a moment."
I watched her disappear into the kitchen.
"Edith, what are you doing?" When I got to the kitchen doorway, I met her arranging the plates in the dishwasher and putting the food into the refrigerator. Talk about a woman who doesn't like wastage.
"Just go to bed. I will be there soon."
I locked the front door, grabbed my phone, and called June again.
She didn't pick.
I knew she may probably refuse to pick up my calls throughout the night, but I kept calling anyway.
Edith came into the room moments later.
"Let her be. Stop calling her."
"I am just worried," I said truthfully. "I just want to know that she is fine."
"She is with her boyfriend. Of course, she is fine!"
Boyfriend? The thought of Mark and June dating brought a sour taste to my mouth. "I would rather not say they are dating. I don't want to think of that."
Edith paused and comically narrowed her eyes at me. A small smile played the sides of her lips. "You know, you act like a concerned boyfriend towards June. Are you sure she is your niece?"
Uh-oh, have I been that obvious?!
I laughed nervously, "Of course, she is my niece."
Edith smiled, "That's okay. Come on, let's go to bed."
*. *. *. *.*
It wasn't easy sleeping.
We laid in a spooning position with Edith's ass pressing against my dick. The position was just comfortable for a lovely sleep, but it didn't come.
When I felt Edith's breath growing heavy, I picked up my phone and tried June again.
As expected, she didn't pick.
I don't know how many times I tried the number or when I slept, but I woke up to the sound of a car honking. It seemed to be coming from outside.
Edith rolled to a sitting position, yawning. "Is that honk from the front of the house?"
At first, I frowned. Then it came to me. "June!" Yelling, I raced out of bed with Edith running behind me.
When I opened the door and saw Mark's car, I knew it was June.
"June!!!" I shouted, running for the passenger side of the front seat, but Mark beat me to it.
June's feet were hardly on the floor when I grabbed the front of Mark's shirt and slammed him against the car.
"You piece of shit!!!!"
"Kristin, please stop," Edith begged and tugged on my arm from behind. "Please, let him go."
My body vibrated with anger. My breath became uneven. What was more annoying was the fact that Mark looked unperturbed. I even saw a smile on the corner of his lips.
"Let him go," June ordered calmly. Her puffy eyes were evidence that she cried for most parts of the night.
"Doll, did he touch you?!" I asked, tightening my grip on Mark's shirt. "Did he hurt you?"
"Let him go."
The order came with the same calmness I'd never known June to possess.
"He touched you, didn't he? He made you cry?" I pulled Mark to myself and banged his back against the side of the car. "He fucking laid hands-on—"
"I said let him go!!!" June exploded. She flipped her hair back and looked me square in the eye.
I grew white with shock. My fists involuntarily let Mark go as I took a step towards June. Her scream was not the cause of my shock, after all, I'd heard her scream before now—even louder than this... The mark on her neck was the cause of my stupefaction.
"June..." I called, taking unsteady forward steps. Edith seemed to have also seen it because she began to tug on my arm, begging me to stop. June pretended Edith wasn't alive.
"June, is that a love bite?"
