Chapter 96: Chapter 96

10 MONTHS LATER

Months had gone by and the civil war had only gotten worse. King Meelzib was more adamant than ever to find Sharaina. He obsessed about it day and night slowly losing his mind.

In his quest to find her, his armies caused massive destruction. The never ending battle between his army and Sharaina's rebels only caused more bloodshed. Nearly half the population of the fourth class were wiped out during the war because they couldn't adequately protect themselves.

King Meelzib was able to locate the rebel's settlement but when his army raided it, they had found that they had already escaped due to Emelinia's warning.

The rebels were all safe in the dimension Sharaina discovered. Everyday Sharaina's troops would go to Dark Star and rescue as many people they could find. This made the people trust the rebels more and gained Sharaina more popularity.

Her popularity was not confined only in Dark Star but spread out to Green as well. The vexar green reptiles were sick and tired of the harsh slavery conditions they were subjected to by King Meelzib. When Sharaina contacted Malov Chalov through spies, he hastily agreed to meet her.

He and his family secretly went to meet Sharaina in the secret dimension. The spies escorted them to her tent where they anxiously waited for her outside. Some women offered them seats and refreshments as they waited for her to come out of her tent.

When they finally saw her tent curtain opening, they were taken aback to see her heavily pregnant and drunk out of her mind. Sevilon and Ouman were utterly shocked by her drunken state whereas Emelinia was furious.

Sharaina swayed towards them and clumsily sat on the carpet. She sat up and rested her hand on her knee. A woman placed a bowl of fried groundnuts at her feet.

Malov Chalov wondered if everything was a joke. He took notice that she wasn't wearing rings and he wondered what kind of a woman she was.

"I am starting to think that we made a big mistake by agreeing to come here." Malov Chalov stated appalled.

"And why is that?" Sharaina asked with a silly giggle.

"You aren't what we expected." He boldly answered.

"Is it my pregnancy or my drunkenness that has put you off?" Sharaina asked him and held her dizzy head.

"All of it. We expected a sophisticated, well nurtured woman of high integrity. Your pregnancy shows that you are not and your drunken state shows that you aren't serious with yourself."

Sharaina grinned at Malov Chalov. "I see, well then that's too bad. You aren't what I expected either."

"I beg your pardon?" Malov asked in disbelief.

"You heard me right lizard." Sharaina threw some groundnuts in her mouth. "If I had known that you thought this low I wouldn't have wasted my time contacting you but alas here we are. You are shallow minded."

"I did not come here to be insulted. Come on everyone, let us go and leave this unruly woman." Malov furiously got up and his family followed suit. However to their dismay, two men pointed their guns at them. "What is this?" He angrily asked Sharaina.

"It means that you shut up and sit for I am not yet done talking. Lizards such as yourselves shouldn't get too confident in the presence of those who have you at their mercy." Sharaina giggled.

"How dare you?" Malov angrily asked her.

"Sit!" Sharaina raised her voice and it startled them. Her face became dark with a scowl. Her sharp eyes showed no kindness and they forced them to sit back down quietly. Sharaina's scowl disappeared and was replaced by a mischievous smile that ran from ear to ear. "Now was that too hard?" She asked with a pout.

"Okay, Malov, this will be the first and last time you will disrespect me like that do you understand?" She asked him and he nodded his head submissively. "You think you have me figured out just because I am drunk and pregnant with no man in sight. I agree with you on the drunken part." She took one look at Emelinia who was still glaring at her and leaned over to Malov and his family, in a whisper she continued. "I am not supposed to drink in my condition." Sharaina pointed at Emelinia with her thumb. "As soon as you leave she will let me have it." She started to chuckle.

"But let's not get into that. I was going to talk about my hibernating husband but now isn't the time either. The mere mention of him however should explain this big belly I have here so next time you think of me as a characterless woman, I will make you taste my blade. At least that way, we will not have another stupid and irrelevant conversation such as this. I mean you came here to talk business and not talk about my personal life so let's keep it professional."

"Please forgive my rude remarks earlier." Malov sincerely apologized.

Sharaina clapped her hands. "There you go! Now you know better than to judge what you do not know. Anyway let's get down to business. Malov, I am in need of manite. My fourth class men need guns with manite bullets so this is where you come in. You supply us with manite bullets and food and in return, I will give you your kingdom back once I am queen and offer you permanent protection."

"How can we trust that you will?" Malov Chalov expressed his doubts.

"I am not yet done making my demands lizard." Sharaina grimly told him and he kept quiet. "When I become queen, you will also have to give me one of your fertilized eggs." Sharaina told Malov and he was astonished.

"Why would you want to foster one of our kind?" He asked confused.

"That's for me to think about. All you have to do is decide whether to agree to my terms or not. So what do you say?" Sharaina threw some groundnuts into her mouth with a smirk.

"I accept your deal." Malov answered.

"Splendid!" Sharaina clapped her hands and a contract was brought forward. "I need you to sign these papers."

Malov took the papers and quickly signed them. He handed them back to Sharaina and she signed them. Sharaina gave the papers to guard and snapped her fingers. Two men grabbed Malov's wife; Fidaphra and pulled her away. Malov got up shocked.

"What is all this?" He asked Sharaina. "I thought we had an agreement."

"Of course we do. The final print of the contract states that your wife remains with us until this war is over. She will act as our surety that you will not betray us. You really need to read a contract before signing it." Sharaina leaned back on her hand and held her belly.

"You horrid woman. You are just like King Meelzib!" Malov screamed at her.

Sharaina activated her sword and pinned it under his chin while she was still sitting down. "Say that again." She dared him but he swallowed hard. "I told you that you will taste my blade if you disrespected me again."

"I am sorry. Please forgive me." Malov begged.

"Sharaina that's enough." Emelinia told her in a disapproving tone.

Sharaina withdrew her sword and pinned it into the sand. "Get them out of my sight." She ordered the guards and they dragged Malov and his family away. She looked over at Fidaphra shaking like a leaf in the arms of a guard. "Take her to her tent." Sharaina ordered him and he took her away immediately.

Sharaina struggled to get up with the help of a maid. She slowly walked back into her tent and Emelinia furiously followed her in.

"Sharaina! Why did you take Malov's wife hostage?"

"It had to be done." Sharaina bluntly answered her.

"No it was unnecessary. He accepted to be our ally. What you have done is unfair and I am appalled by it."

"She is staying here and that's final. Take your emotions elsewhere Emelinia for they are useless here. In case you have forgotten, we are at war. There's no fairness in war." Sharaina faced away from Emelinia and cringed.

"Sharaina this isn't you." Emelinia complained.

"No one stays the same when they are forced to bear the burdens of others. Leave me alone I'm not feeling so good." She mouthed and held her belly with both hands.

"Well with all that drinking you did what would you expect?" Emelinia sternly asked Sharaina but she moaned in pain and sat down holding her belly. Emelinia rushed to her aid. "Sharaina are you okay?"

"No I have been feeling discomfort since last night - sharp pains especially at the bottom." Sharaina explained and winced.

"But why didn't you tell me? Sharaina you seriously know how to anger me. Lie down now."

Sharaina laid down on her bed with her legs up and spread apart. Emelinia lifted her dress and poked her finger inside her. She gasped and startled Sharaina.

"What is it?" Sharaina asked her.

"You are in labour. Damn it Sharaina!"

"What, seriously?"

"Wait here, let me send for someone to call my mother." Emelinia rushed outside in panic.

In minutes Channy joined them in the tent. Hours went by and Sharaina endured her labour pains. She gnashed her teeth as the constructions intensified. Her clothes were drenched in sweat.

The time finally arrived and Emelinia held Sharaina from behind while Channy waited to catch the baby with a towel in her hands.

Sevilon, Ouman, Naraygeous and Zentz waited anxiously away from the tent. Everyone else anxiously murmured amongst themselves.

"Come on Sharaina, it's time to get your baby out. I need you to push, okay?" Channy urged Sharaina and she replied with a moan.

"Goodness this hurts so much." Sharaina complained.

"It's going to be okay Sharaina." Emelinia encouraged her..

"Okay, push Sharaina." Channy blurted out.

Sharaina held her breath and pushed with her teeth gritted and eyes closed. She let out a gasp and threw her head back.

"Again Sharaina, come on; your baby is almost here. Push!" Channy told her and a scream was heard outside the tent.

Sharaina took short breaths and held her breath while she pushed hard with all her might. She didn't believe it when she finally heard a squeaky cry. The baby's cries were heard by everyone and they celebrated.

Channy held up the baby for Sharaina to see. Sharaina cried the moment she set her eyes on it. It was a little baby boy. He was crying profusely in Channy's hands. Sharaina stretched her arms and Channy gave the baby to her. She kissed his forehead as he continued to cry. Emelinia lovingly held his head with tears in her eyes.

"He has your face and his father's hair." Emelinia commented.

"He has also gotten his father's powers." Sharaina rubbed the V birthmark on his chest.

Sharaina took out her breast put the nipple in her son's mouth. When she and Emelinia saw his dimples as he sucked, they chuckled merrily. "Akirexer's genes are too strong." Sharaina remarked.

"In deed they are." Emelinia poked the baby's cheek.

"What will you name him?" Channy asked Sharaina.

"His father used to be the light in my darkness therefore I shall name him Dawn for he is my morning after a difficult night." Sharaina happily declared and stroked her baby's hair.

*****

Two weeks had passed since Sharaina gave birth to her son. Everyone waited for her outside her tent. The moment they saw her coming out of it in a short leather skirt, brown thigh boots and steel breast plate, they activated their weapons and pointed them up.

A woman came out of the tent and gave Sharaina Dawn. Sharaina walked slowly with her baby towards the anticipating crowd. Emelinia stood with the other rebel leaders and Sharaina approached her. She took one last look at Dawn, kissed him and gave him to Emelinia.

"He is in safe hands." Emelinia assured her.

"I trust that he is." Sharaina answered and turned to the other rebel leaders. "I will see you all in three days." She said to them.

The rebels chanted her name as she used both her swords to open a portal. They chanted louder when they saw her throw her swords in the portal. There was an uproar when she finally disappeared into it.

Sharaina stepped into the Realm of the dragon and she was shocked at what was before her. Thousands of white dragons flew freely around one resting snow white dragon with golden fins. It looked at Sharaina and in a feminine voice, it said;

"Greetings warrior, I am Velna, the dragon you have summoned with your blue sword." She breathed blue flames. "The dragons you see flying around belong to that red sword." She got up and spread her wings. "You have just come to your death."
