Chapter 87: Chapter 87
King Meelzib's question sent chills down Luven and Lavila's spines. Lavila stepped back and with the corner of her eye she saw guards entering the throne room with their weapons out. In no time they were all surrounded. Meelzib sniffed his wine and laughed hard. He held it up to Luven and Lavila.
"You tried to poison me?" He said and gave the glass to a maid. "Do you think you can beat me at my own game?"
"This is all a misunderstanding." Luven said while Lavila clutched her dress, tensed.
"The fact that you joined with the tomb from which I came from is a misunderstanding?" King Meelzib angrily asked Luven.
"We all know that she is a seductress." Luven retorted with no remorse in his eyes.
"Just as we know that you have a history of being a gigolo." King Meelzib's voice turned horrifyingly dark. "I am not surprised by my mother's betrayal. I know her better than anyone in this kingdom. Just like me, she can go to any length to get what she wants. What she wants is power Luven. Had you succeeded in killing me, she would have turned on you and kept all the power to herself. You see Luven, my mother and I agree on one thing and that one thing is; power is not everything, it is the only thing."
The guards narrowed in on Lavila and Luven. Luven activated his sword and kept his eyes on King Meelzib. "I wished I didn't have to do this but you must understand that I cannot allow myself to get arrested."
Luven violently launched up and broke a hole through the roof. The guards launched up after him. King Meelzib glared at Lavila and she took a step back. With flash steps, at an impossible speed, King Meelzib grabbed Lavila from behind her neck and pulled her close. He stretched out his hand to the maid who had the poisoned wine and she gave the glass back to him. King Meelzib gazed into Lavila's terrified eyes with so much coldness. He forced the wine down her throat.
"Do not struggle for it will only increase your pain." He softly said to her as she pushed and gurgled.
He tossed the empty glass away and it shattered upon making contact with the floor. Lavila's face was covered in wine. Not even her dress was spared. She coughed hard on the floor as she held her chest. King Meelzib's anger left him and for a moment there was a look of sadness across his face.
"Why mother? Why did you decide to betray me? If it wasn't for the Council of Elders warning me about your betrayal, you would have succeeded in killing me. Of all things you had to warm the bed of my best friend. That was so disgusting of you mother!" King Meelzib angrily said to Lavila.
Lavila laughed. "You don't value me as your mother so why should I think of you as my son and do things right by you?" Blood poured out of her mouth and she coughed out more.
Lavila could no longer hold herself up and she dropped to the floor unconscious. King Meelzib took off his robe and launched up. He got to the roof top and saw his warriors fighting off Luven.
The guards below him, in the throne room, picked up the body of Lavila and took it up to her room. They covered her with a white cloth and closed the door behind them. They then proceeded to stand guard.
Lavila sat up and weakly threw the cloth to the floor. Earlier she had pretended to be dead so that she could get the chance to escape. She thought of going to Reena for help but she remembered that Sevilon was around so he would just turn her over to Meelzib. She couldn't go to Holan's mansion because that would be the first place Meelzib was going to search.
Lavila felt sharp pains in her chest and blood trickled down her lip like drool. She wiped it off and thought of Lalina. She couldn't sense her in the castle. She focused and used her tracking powers to find her. Once she found her exact location, she opened a portal and crawled into it. She found herself in Gemhules in the midst of a green yard with beautiful flowers.
"Lalina, is Naraygeous the father of your unborn child?" Emelinia asked Lalina and she slowly nodded her head. "Does he know about this?"
"No I am still yet to tell him. So far only you know. I don't know what to do, once everyone finds out, it will cause problems for Naraygeous."
Despite her resentment towards Sharaina, Lalina maintained a relationship with Emelinia. She felt drawn to her in ways she couldn't explain. Lalina was glad that Sharaina wasn't around because she had gotten married to Light. The last thing she needed was to see her.
"It'll be okay." Emelinia held her hand. Lalina looked at Light and Sharaina's wedding portrait next to Emelinia and Naian's. "Will you ever find it in your heart to forgive Sharaina?" Emelinia asked Lalina and she shot a glare at her.
"Will you ever forgive papa?" Lalina angrily asked her back and Emelinia went silent. "Until you forgive our father for everything he has done to you, I will forgive Sharaina and hold no grudge against her."
Lalina sensed Lavila and she got up stunned. Both she and Emelinia heard weak knocks on the door. Lalina rushed to the door and Lavila fell into her arms.
Emelinia gasped and covered her mouth. Together they helped Lavila to the couch and made her lie down. Emelinia rushed into the kitchen to get some water.
"Emelinia she has consumed natrifin. There's no way water will help. We need to get her to the hospital!"
"Okay!" Emelinia yelled from the kitchen. "Precious!" She called out.
"Yes mama?" Precious answered.
"Take Nalvin with you and go to your Grandma Channy. I will come and pick you up later." She told her before grabbing her purse. "Be sure to pack three nappies for Nalvin."
"Okay mama." Precious ran up the upstairs.
King Meelzib saw that his guards were no match for Luven. It was expected considering that he was a high ranking warrior darkas god...the third strongest of the Enchanted Seven. Sevilon was the first and Stix was the second strongest. King Meelzib raised his sword in the air and let out a thunderous yell. All the guards stopped attacking Luven.
"Step aside, he is mine to defeat." He ordered them.
King Meelzib leaped down and landed with a ground shaking thud. Luven looked sternly at him with his hands firmly holding his sword. King Meelzib cracked his neck and charged at Luven.
Every time their blades met, a sharp ear aching sound was produced that it made the ears of those nearby bleed. Guards backed away from the fight while servants and commoners ran away screaming in terror.
Luven jumped up hit King Meelzib's sword with a side kick. King Meelzib thrust him away and charged at him with a punch that landed on his chest and sent him stumbling backwards.
Before Luven could get up, King Meelzib punched him hard under his chin and round kicked him to the gates of the castle. At that point, Luven's lemon green dragon with yellow fins and sharp jaws appeared. It's body was almost as thing as its tail. It blew fire at King Meelzib who twirled his sword around in order to block the flames.
Luven wiped the blood off his mouth. "It's been a while since I faced a difficult opponent." He said with a grin.
"Send your dragon away and let us end this once and for all." King Meelzib responded with a cold glare.
"No I will not leave my master." The dragon answered.
Umandaang appeared and growled at the dragon. "Who are you to talk back at my master?"
"I am Nabito...green venom of the west. I only acknowledge my master." The dragon boldly responded.
Luven hopped onto its back and pulled its fin. Nabito knew what he meant and launched into the air. King Meelzib hopped onto Umandaang and they flew after them.
Umandaang blew fire at Nabito but he was quick to dodge all the flames. He spit sticky balls at Umandaang and Meelzib unleashed a static wave that sent the balls back at Nabito.
Nabito was able to dodge them all gracefully. Sadly, the people at the bottom were unable to get away from the balls. Whoever the balls landed on melted instantly in the acidic sticky balls.
King Meelzib jumped off Umandaang's back and speared Luven off of Nabito. The both of them punched and kicked each other viciously and violently as they fell.
Nabito tried to swoop Luven away when he was slapped back by Umandaang's tail. He retaliated by sinking his jaws into Umandaang's neck and this caused Umandaang to give a long deafening roar.
King Meelzib and Luven landed in the middle of Cherilisia and a big explosion was created. Screams of civilians followed. The explosion was so loud that Light and Sharaina heard it.
They rushed to their bed room window and saw the flames from a far. Because their house was 5km away from the castle, they both activated their eyes in order to see what was happening clearly. They were shocked to see King Meelzib and Luven going at it.
"Light, what is happening? Isn't commander Luven King Meelzib's best friend?"
"I don't know." Light answered. "That fight is only going to get worse. Look at the poor people getting caught in the cross fire."
"What can we do to help?" Sharaina asked him.
"It's best we wait for them to leave that area. Only then will we go and check on the wounded. Going near that fight now is suicide." Light stated with seriousness.
Sharaina frowned at Light's response but she knew that he was right. She helplessly looked on. Sharaina saw Luven choke slam King Meelzib so hard to the ground that his crown came off. She almost laughed to herself. She never imagined King Meelzib getting choke slammed. When she saw King Meelzib stab Luven in the stomach with his sword, her eyes widened.
Luven let go of King Meelzib and held his bleeding stomach. King Meelzib took one step closer and Nabito shot a sticky ball at him. He back flipped and it missed him. King Meelzib raised his sword in the air and portals opened. Stepping out were a dozen of his other dragons ranked below Umandaang.
They surrounded Luven and Nabito. At his command, they blew fire on them. Nabito used his body to shield Luven but it was of no use. Luven closed his eyes with a grin right before he was completely engulfed by the flames. King Meelzib watched him die with a look of hatred plastered across his face.

Lalina and Emelinia walked back and forth outside the emergency room. It had been half an hour since they brought Lavila there. A nurse came out and Lalina ran to her.
Emelinia got ready to listen. However, to her inconvenience, the nurse spoke in a voice so low that she couldn't hear what she was saying. After that, the next thing Emelinia saw was Lalina looking defeated. She sadly walked Emelinia.
"What has she said?" Emelinia asked her.
"She says that there is nothing that can be done. My aunt is going to die. I have been told to go and speak to her for the last time."
"What? Is there really nothing we can do?"
Lalina's tears fell. "Yes there is nothing. Would you please come with me? She is also your aunt."
Emelinia was taken aback by her request and it made her feel conflicted. She remembered the times she used to work at the castle. Lavila was always so mean and wicked to her and the other servants.
At one time she spelt hot tea on Emelinia because it wasn't the brand she wanted. Despite her burns, Lavila forced Emelinia to fan her for three hours straight and sent her to bed with no food.
Emelinia thought about the bounty Lavila had on her head. For years she evaded capture only for her to be forced to face her biggest fear. Even though Emelinia knew that Lavila wasn't going to be able to harm her, she still felt skeptical.
"I don't think I should." Emelinia took a step back.
Lalina's face turned red in anger. "Don't be heartless Emelinia. She is dying!"
Not wanting to argue with Lalina, Emelinia took the lead and got into Lavila's hospital room. Lavila weakly turned to face her. She stared at Emelinia so much that it made her feel so uncomfortable.
Lalina rushed to sit on Lavila's bed side. Lavila weakly gestured for Emelinia to go closer but she hesitated. Lalina scowled at Emelinia and she involuntarily got close.
"I have seen you before." Lavila said to Emelinia. "You are the eves dropping girl I have wanted to punish for a long time now. I never thought I'd see you again."
"She is also your niece." Lalina said with tears in her eyes. "Papa had her with another woman."
Lavila laughed softly but the pain her laugher caused in her chest made her to cough violently. Lalina gave her hand a squeeze. "I'm wondering why death is wasting time. I am feeling so much pain. Now I know how my husband felt before he died." She whined and turned back to Emelinia.
"I have always known about you. Your mother once came to me when she was heavily pregnant with you. She told me everything but my brother still denied her. I threw her out of the castle and warned her to never return because I looked at her as an opportunist harlot trying to trap my brother. After I threw her out, I interrogated my brother and he confessed that he in deed fathered you. He however told me to forget about you because he was never going to accept you. I did what he wanted. To be honest I really didn't care at the time." Lavila coughed hard again.
Lavila took a special golden bangle that had been passed down from generation to generation in her family. She weakly held it up to Emelinia. Emelinia wasn't sure about whether to take it or not. Lalina gestured for her to take it and she did. Lavila smiled at her and withdrew her hand.
"Go to my parents with that bangle, they will know that you are one of ours. I know this is late but better late than never right?" Blood escaped her mouth and Lalina wiped it. "Lalina, be sure to take care of yourself. Leave the castle and go back home to your parents. Meelzib is going to fall soon. I don't want you to get caught up in the fire he has started." Lavila closed her eyes and breathed her last. Lalina placed her head on her chest and cried deeply.
