Chapter 85: Chapter 85

The hooting sound of an old owl perched upon a branch outside the window woke up Sharaina. She looked around herself and remembered that she was in Light's room. Her head was on his hard chest as she smiled happily to herself.

Sharaina still couldn't believe that they were finally married. The two rings sparkling on her finger reminded her of their reality. Just when she thought that she had lost him forever, she got him back in an instant. It all still felt like a dream.

FLASHBACK BEGINS

After an hour of beautifying her, Sharaina went down the stairs with Emelinia holding her hand. Alainara and Jayniss giggled as they lifted the tail of her wedding dress while Stariss and Lara followed them behind.

Sharumez and Naian were stricken by how beautiful Sharaina looked in her wedding dress. The jewelry that graced her body was phenomenal.

Sharumez smiled at her lovingly. "You are looking so beautiful." He told her. "I can't believe that my little girl is all grown up now. It feels like I just held you as a baby yesterday. Now you are going to become someone's wife." Sharumez kissed her forehead.

Sharaina's eyes began to water up. "Papa don't make me cry. I don't want my make up to get ruined." She giggled with watery eyes.

Sharumez turned to Akirexer. "I am losing a daughter today." He lamented with moist eyes of his own.

"But you are gaining a son." Akirexer warmly smiled at him.

"In deed I am. At least now I will have two sons." Sharumez chuckled softly and turned back to Sharaina. "I know you are a silly girl but please for the love of peaches behave yourself around your in laws. Be yourself quite alright but keep it down a notch." Sharumez winked and everyone cracked up laughing.

Sharumez set his hand on Sharaina's head. Looking into her blissful eyes, he continued; "I am happy that you are getting married to a man who loves you more than he loves himself. That's all a father would ever ask for. Your mother in law doesn't know how special you are yet so please be patient with her. Never should you lose your temper with her." He advised with seriousness.

"I will do as you say papa." Sharaina said with determination and a tear escaped her left eye. Emelinia quickly wiped it off before it ruined her make up. Sharaina was unfazed by that because her eyes were on her father. Sharumez hugged her. "I will miss you the most papa? No one scolds me like you do." Sharaina said to her father's chest.

"Perhaps Light will pick off from where I left off." Sharumez commented and everyone laughed softly.

Sharaina laughed back. "Well it takes a lot for him to get angry with me so we'll see." She added.

Akirexer happily stepped up. "Come on, we must leave. Your husband to be is already waiting for you at the altar."

FLASHBACK ENDS

The wedding had gone smoothly because Velan did not give Nami any chance to ruin anything. He instead had her on a tight leash.

Sharaina and Light received a lot of gifts in money, land and jewelry. She remembered how Light put all her jewelry and the land deeds in his safe. He soon fell asleep after that due to his fatigue. Sharaina was also feeling a little weak at the time so she didn't mind that he fell asleep on their wedding night.

Feeling the urge to pee, Sharaina got out of bed. Her silver night dress swept the floor as she walked to the bathroom in her socks. Not wanting to wake Light up, she quietly closed the door behind her.

Light's bathroom was a lot bigger than her old bath room. It was actually the size of her old room. It had a shower and a big oval bath tub. On top of the sink was a big mirror. Sharaina walked past it and sat on the toilet. When she was done, she flashed it.

She walked back to the sink and washed her hands. A thought suddenly hit her and she paused with her eyes looking right through the water running down her hands.

Sharaina straightened her back and met at her reflection in the mirror. A frown took over her face and she placed her hand on her belly in deep thought. Her shoulders slumped as the rhythm of the running water filled the bathroom.

Sharaina abruptly shrugged her thoughts off and closed the tap. She got out of the bathroom only to find Light sitting upright while struggling to stay awake. His eyes were partially closed as he scratched his chest.

"Did I wake you up?" Sharaina remorsefully asked him.

"No you didn't. I just felt the need to drink water." Light answered with a faint smile and let out a yawn.

"You look like you need more than water. Come to think of it, you didn't eat much at the reception." Sharaina sat on the bed and studied his face. The bags under his eyes got her even more concerned.

"All the food was spicy. You know I don't like spicy food." Light casually said.

Sharaina leaned closer to him and rested her hand on his. "Emelinia told me that you were with me for four days and four nights. You didn't eat anything during that time right?" She asked him and he reluctantly nodded his head. "Light! Why didn't you at least tell someone to bring you food that you could actually eat?" She scolded him, annoyed.

"I was feeling so tired. At the time all I wanted to do was to sleep." Light explained with another faint smile.

"I'm going to cook you something to eat." Sharaina stood up but Light held her back. "You need to eat something." She insisted.

"Yes and I will tomorrow morning. It's 01:30hrs, you can't start cooking this time of the night. I'll be okay don't worry." Light tried but Sharaina wasn't having it.

"No I insist that you eat. I cannot let you sleep hungry when I am capable of cooking for you." Sharaina insisted again but this time with a smile.

"Okay but I'm coming with you. You don't know your way around the kitchen yet." Light got out of bed.

Sharaina waited for Light to put on his pajama shirt and both of them went hand in hand downstairs into the kitchen. The kitchen was huge and spacious. It had drawers all around with a beautiful in built table in the middle. Six stools were neatly placed under the table and above it was a chandelier. Sharaina looked at the drawers wondering which ones contained what she needed.

She didn't have to ask Light where everything was because he opened a drawer that had the pots. He waited for Sharaina to choose the size she wanted. Light opened another one that had cooking sticks and another one that had plates, spoons, folks and glasses. Sharaina picked all the utensils that she needed.

Light pointed to the pantry door and she went in. Before her were all sorts of food. She picked some potatoes and assorted vegetables.

"He hasn't eaten in days. Best I cook him a vegetarian meal so that he doesn't get an upset stomach." She decided to herself while her eyes scouted for tomatoes.

Light watched her cut the vegetables and peel the potatoes. She put them into a pot and set it on the gas stove. The both of them lowered their voices as they chatted so as to avoid waking anyone up.

When the potato soup was ready, Sharaina poured it into two bowls and placed one in front of Light. She went into the pantry, picked up two buns and served Light his on a separate plate. Sharaina returned to the pantry and walked out with a bottle of red wine.

"Really?" Light smirked at her.

"How are you even surprised?" Sharaina giggled. "Do you want some?" She mirthfully asked him.

"A glass is fine." He quickly answered with a smile.

Light looked at the food before him. It smelt so good that his stomach grumbled. He spooned up the soup, blew on it and tasted it. His eyes dilated with the savoring taste.

Sharaina watched him eat everything so quickly. She jerked her eye brow up when he extended his plate for more. She poured him some more and he continued to eat.

"Wow you were completely famished." Sharaina teased him.

"So much that I started to get used to the feeling." Light smiled at her and finished his bun. He picked his wine glass and drank from it. "You know, red wine is the only alcoholic beverage that I have grown to like. Everything else just doesn't work for me." He confessed.

"I wish I could say the same." Sharaina chuckled and took a bite of her bun.

Light rolled his eyes at her and let out a soft laugh. "I don't think there's any alcohol you don't like. You drink it all like water."

Sharaina thumped him. "You are saying it like it is a bad thing." She let out a chuckle.

Light and Sharaina finished their meals. Sharaina rinsed the dishes and both of them went back upstairs to their room. Light went into the bath room while Sharaina sat on the bed.

She pulled a cover to cover her legs. She didn't know that she was frowning until she caught Light looking at her with so much worry written across his face. He joined her in the covers and held her thigh.

"Light, there's something I have been meaning to tell you." Sharaina said after a sigh.

"What is it?" Light beckoned her.

"For three weeks I was feeling rather strange. It was as though there was something else in me. It felt like a separate energy within me." Sharaina started and Light dropped his gaze. He knew where she was going with that. "The other week I developed a slight headache and I even threw up one morning. I began to suspect that I was-" Sharaina paused and fiddled with her fingers in discomfort. "Pregnant." She finished.

"Oh," Was all Light could say.

"Liss encouraged me to take a pregnancy test but I was skeptical. You know my fertility situation. I guess I was afraid of getting my hopes up only to end up with a green vini leaf. Regardless, I meant to take the test but I got arrested the night I intended on doing so." Sharaina sighed and turned to Light - gazing into his eyes. "I'm feeling empty Light. That separate energy feeling is completely gone. Did you see anything during the days you spent with me while I was hibernating?" She asked him and Light's heart dropped.

He knew that he had to tell her the truth. Initially, he had decided that he would keep everything to himself but now that Sharaina was his wife, he was not supposed to keep anything from her. He held her hand softly. "You were pregnant." He confirmed to her. "But we lost the baby. Your infection was severe." He explained to her in a sad tone.

"I don't know what to say." Sharaina said in a low tone of her own. "I am feeling both sad and glad. I am sad because I lost the baby but I'm happy that at least I know that I can conceive. I'm hurt that after ten years I finally fell pregnant only to lose the baby."

"It is not your fault. We will have another baby." Light scooted closer to her.

"When, in another ten years?" Sharaina asked him with anger laced in her voice.

"I don't know. It doesn't even matter. We will have when our time comes. We have all eternity to think about children."

"Light you are the oldest and only male child of your family. Surely they will expect grand children from us. It is from you that an heir to your family's business will be expected. How are you not worried about this?" Sharaina grunted.

"Don't worry about that either. Come on you are speaking as though you are barren. I know that we will conceive again."

Light gently made her lie down and he laid on top of her with his legs in between hers. Sharaina held him loosely and wrapped him in her legs. Looking into her breath taking eyes, Light continued with a warm smile, "Sharaina I love you and I am so happy that you are finally my wife. I want us to focus on keeping each other happy for now. Children will come to us with time. I have all the patience so please don't stress yourself."

"Why are you so good to me?" Sharaina's tear dropped from one eye.

Light used the side of his face to tenderly wipe it away. "Because you are my life." He gently said to her.

Light's lips brushed against Sharaina's and she pulled him close to kiss him with everything she had. He kissed her with the same intensity slid off her night dress. Sharaina pulled off his shirt and he took off his pants on his own while he sucked her neck.

The feeling of Light's naked body made Sharaina curve her back and Light slipped his hand underneath her back and brought her on top of him.

They locked lips while Sharaina positioned herself. Lip got hold of her ass as he made his way in. They both moaned at the feeling and Sharaina spread Light's arms apart. She lifted her head slightly above his lips and humped him slowly - teasing him with every stroke.

Light got hold of Sharaina's waist and she increased her speed in the comfort of the covers. Light sensed her change in breathing and quickly rested her back to the bed. He felt her sink her nails into his back as he worked his way in and out of her.

Midway through the love making, Light pulled away from her lips and trailed his mouth down her neck. Sharaina knew what he was about to do and she braced herself.

She had longed for that moment for years. She cupped the back of his head against her neck and stroked his hair. Light's fangs appeared and he sank them into Sharaina's neck. She let out a loud gasp in pain.

Sharaina felt the hot intensity of the bite and she moaned sexually. She held Light tighter as he sank his teeth deeper into her neck. The both of them began to glow red in the bed.

Everything in the room, including the bed raised up into the air. After three minutes, Light withdrew and everything slowly went back down. He watched his bite mark vanish before his eyes with no trace of blood at all. Light licked Sharaina's neck and got rewarded with a moan.

He had successfully marked Sharaina. Now the both of them were connected in more ways than they were before. They sensed each other's presence with a greater capacity because they literally became one. The two continued with their passionate love making while the old owl outside continued to hoot.
