Chapter 80: Chapter 80

Death stepped into the sunlight and everyone got a good look at it. It had a body of a grey monitor lizard. It was gigantic in size with jaw full of razor sharp teeth that were more than a dragons. On its neck was a chain that went all the way back into its chamber.

Death lifted its head and hissed furiously at Sharaina's insult. It charged at her and opened its jaws to bite her when she jumped up and landed on its head. Sharaina ran all the way down to the tip of its tail and jumped back down. Akirexer held her heart at the sight of that.

Death got even angrier at Sharaina. It spit its venomous natrifin at her and she ran away dodging every spit.

Sharaina knew that simply evading Death wasn't going to ensure her survival.

She had to fight back. This was going to be extremely difficult without her swords. She couldn't even lunge at Death. The only power the manite didn't suppress was her super strength and she intended on exploiting it the best that she could.

Death charged at her again and she skidded away. Sharaina slipped and fell in the sand due to her shackles. Akirexer felt weak and fell into Sharumez's arms. Emelinia held her breath while Naian held her hand tight as they watched. Light got up and yelled telling Sharaina to get up despite knowing that she couldn't hear him.

Death shot its spit at Sharaina and she lifted her legs. She spread them wide in the air and the acidic natrifin fell on the chains - melting them. Sharaina back flipped and kicked sand that shielded her from the next dose of spit coming her way. All her loved ones cheered for her at that point.

Death chased Sharaina around the hole until it finally cornered her. It opened its jaw and went for her. Emelinia got up and screamed at that. Jayniss held Light's hand to console him but he shook her off.

"No, she is not gone." Light dismissed.

The sight of Sharaina holding Death's jaws apart proved Light's point. Death backed away from her and raised its head. Sharaina let go but grabbed its tongue.

The burning sensation made her grit her teeth in pain. Death twirled around in order to shake Sharaina off but she wouldn't let go.

Sharaina planted her feet on the ground, pulled the tongue and twirled Death in the air.

The crowd went dead silent.

King Meelzib, Lavila and Lalina felt angry and frustrated in seeing that.

Sharaina screamed and hit Death as hard as she could on the ground. She hit it to the other side and brought it back with all her might.

Her super strength was all she had so she wasn't going to stop hitting death until it went unconscious. The hits were so hard that the tongue snapped and Sharaina went flying into the wall behind her.

She heard the crowd cheer and opened her eyes. Before her was the dead body of Death. Akirexer hugged Sharumez and cried tears of joy. Light sighed I relief while Emelinia and Naian laughed joyfully.

Sevilon and Ouman were having a tough time expressing their joy so they excused themselves. They went to the bathroom where they laughed their hearts out. Lalina felt so angry that she got off her seat.

"I am so appalled by this my King." Lalina said but King Meelzib didn't hear a word she said.

"Our King," The Council of Elders spoke at once. King Meelzib saw them point at Sharaina who was looking at the cheering crowd. "She is the one. She is the future queen of Dark Star."

Naraygeous heard this and he was shocked. His eyes widened as he looked at Sharaina. It immediately clicked that it was King Meelzib and not Diavinx behind the kidnappings.

King Meelzib balled up his fists and shot a glare at the Warden. "Release the other beasts!" He roared.

"But my King, she has done her punishment. We have to set her free according to the law." The Warden protested.

King Meelzib stuck his sword into the man. Lalina gasped at the sight of that and took her seat. "I am the law!" Meelzib threw the guard aside and pointed his bloody sword at the Warden's subordinate. "Release ALL the beasts now!" He thundered.

Sharaina was surprised that no one came to get her out of the hole. Instead the gate was opened again. Ten more beasts like Death, but smaller, came out. They were the offsprings of Death.

Upon seeing Sharaina, they charged at her hissing. They shot their tongues at her limbs and threw her up in the air. One slapped her down hard with its tail and she created a depression on the ground.

What is happening, Aren't I supposed to be free? Sharaina thought to herself.

"What the hell is going on? Isn't she supposed to be set free?" Sharumez asked Akirexer. "Does the King want Sharaina dead or something?" He painfully added.

Sharaina tried to get up but one of the beasts sank its teeth in her shoulder; injecting natrifin in her. Sharaina screamed in pain to her parents despair. Jayniss faced away but Light refused to take his eyes off Sharaina.

Sharaina's veins popped up on her face. She felt herself getting drowsy as the doses continued. Sharaina picked up some sand in her fist and threw it at the beast - blinding it in one eye.

It let go of her and she kicked it under its chin. It fell and landed on its back struggling to get back on its feet like a cockroach.

Sharaina held her shoulder and backed away from it. She coughed out blood and fell down to one knee. Akirexer and Emelinia started to cry at that point.

The sweet scent of her blood aroused the other beasts and they charged at her. Sharaina ran and hid behind the dead body of Death. She looked at the claws and grabbed one. With the help of her elbow, she broke one off and held it close to her chest.

Sharaina listened to the other beasts drawing closer to her. One jumped across her and she held the claw high enough to tear a line running from its neck to the end of its tail. It fell down and she jumped on it. To King Meelzib's anger, she slit its throat. Liss and Mayla along with Nelex and Gerebe cheered her along.

The remaining eight attacked Sharaina left, right and center wounding her badly. Just when she was about to black out, one hit her up into the air so hard with its head and she fell down with a thud.

Sevilon and Ouman were shattered to discover that Sharaina was still facing her punishment. They rushed back to the arena and saw her hopeless situation.

"He now knows the truth." Ouman said to Sevilon as they sat back down.

Sharaina lay on the sand unable to move while the beasts zeroed in on her from all directions. She closed her eyes as their hot breath drew closer.

"SHARAINA GET UP!" Sharumez yelled and everyone turned to face him.

Papa, is that you? Sharaina used her eyes to search for him. She soon spotted him with her teary eyed mother in the crowd.

"GET UP CHILD! DON'T YOU DARE DIE ON YOUR MOTHER AND I!" He said to her. "YOU CAN DO THIS! GET UP SHARAINA!" He pleaded with her with tears of his own.

Papa...mama...you are here...cheering me on. I must...I must survive for your sake.

"GET UP SHARAINA!" Light and Jayniss shouted.

"GET UP SHARAINA!!" Nelex and Geren added.

"GET UP SHARAINA!!" Liss and Mayla screamed.

The whole arena started chanting GET UP SHARAINA until it was all that could be heard. This infuriated King Meelzib and angered Lavila and Lalina.

The beasts got distracted by the noise and Sharaina took advantage of the opportunity. She kicked one hard under its jaw and it went flying dead, out of the hole. Warriors on dragons followed it out so as to recapture it before it harmed anyone.

Sharaina picked up the claw she had and cut off one's head when it jumped at her. With everyone cheering her on, she felt stronger. One tried to slap her with its tail but she cut it off. The beast retreated into the chamber where it fell down dead. The crowd cheered more at that.

The remaining four charged at her at once and they fought tooth and claw against her. The fight caused dust to rise in the air. Everyone leaned closer and stretched their necks to see.

When the dust settled, they were shocked to see Sharaina bleeding and panting with a claw weakly held in her hand. Beneath her were the headless bodies of the beasts. Akirexer fell back at her seat and cried tears of joy. Light laughed joyfully that she made it with tears in his eyes. Jayniss hugged him tight.

King Meelzib sank in his throne. He couldn't believe that she survived. He looked at the crowd cheering and chanting Sharaina's name. All of it suffocated him.

The gamarax manipulators covered the hole with a solid metal plate. With all the beasts dead, the show was over. No other criminal was to be thrown in The Terror Hole.

Two gamarax manipulators ran to Sharaina's aid and led her back into the waiting room where they helped her sit down.

Boo was astonished to see her back and alive. Her lord Diavinx was right when he said what he said. Her heart leaped with joy along with the other criminals. Some of them almost kissed Sharaina's feet but the guards kept them away.

Sharaina looked at them smile at her through her hair. She didn't have the strength to remove her it off her face. Her head was spinning and her wounds stang. She felt the natrifin slowly killing her.

Sharumez and Akirexer burst into the waiting room and ran to Sharaina. Akirexer held Sharaina in her arms while Sharumez knelt down and held her knees.

Akirexer used her scarf to wipe off Sharaina's blood off her face. Light rushed into the room with Jayniss right behind him. Sharumez scowled at him and raised his hand to stop him from getting any closer.

"Stay away from us." He sternly told Light.

"Please let me heal her. She is in pain." Light pleaded but Sharumez shook his head disapprovingly.

"We don't need your help. It is because of you that she is in this condition." Sharumez angrily continued. "I entrusted you with my daughter and you made fools out of all of us."

"Please give me a chance to explain myself." Light put his hands together.

"I don't want to hear it! I forbid you from ever coming close to my daughter do you hear me? Stay away from her and stay away from my family."

Akirexer glared at Light as she protectively held onto Sharaina. Sharaina helplessly watched Sharumez scold Light. She saw the sincerity in Light's eyes as he begged Sharumez to let him heal her but Sharumez refused to hear it.

Sharaina tried to speak but her words couldn't come out. Looking at Light and her father strained her eyes so she closed them.

"Sharaina," Light painfully called out to her with moist eyes.

"Get out!" Sharumez pointed at the door.

Jayniss held Light's hand and slowly pulled him away from there. Light longingly looked at Sharaina the whole way out until he couldn't see her anymore.

Sevilon walked into the waiting room. Akirexer got up and rushed to him. She put her hands together and Sevilon was taken aback by her tears.

"We are her parents. Please allow us to take her home with us." She pleaded to him.

"You may go ahead." Sevilon said and handed her an envelope. "This is her termination letter. Due to her crime, she will never work for the Dark Star Army again."

Sevilon took one look at Sharaina and walked away. Akirexer gave the envelope to Sharumez who put it into his pocket.

Naraygeous and Zentz ran into the waiting room. They respectfully greeted Sharumez and Akirexer.

"Please allow us to take you home." Naraygeous pleaded with them and Zentz nodded his head.

"Thank you very much." Sharumez said.
