Chapter 77: Chapter 77

Gamarax manipulators paralyzed lord Diavinx by hitting several pressure points before the warriors finally arrested him. Boo was carried away by gamarax manipulators. Five warriors escorted them to the hospital.

With her unconscious, the seal vanished and the hideout stood exposed right outside the walls of Lano. The people cheered as they saw the warriors arrest the members of the MidNight Crawlers. Some of them were able to escape into the woods. Among them were the ones carrying Jemi's lifeless body.

Sharaina limped away from Light. She sat on a rock and moaned softly at her pain. When Light's shadow fell upon her, she unwillingly faced up. She was still uncomfortable around him.

Without a word, Light knelt down in front of her. He picked up her leg and gave it a slight squeeze. The sight of him touching her made some men stare at him in envy.

"Would you mind leaving with me?" Light asked Sharaina. She looked at the lust in the eyes of the men and understood why he asked her to leave with him. "You and I still have some talking to do." Light added.

"Yes I will leave with you. Help me get up." She said.

Light stood up and opened a portal. To Sharaina's surprise, instead of helping her up, he lifted her in his arms. The men watched Light carry her into the portal. Once they were gone, they thumped each other joking about what a lucky bastard Light was.

News that lord Diavinx was arrested spread like wild fire. The whole kingdom celebrated at the downfall of the notorious MidNight Crawlers. When they caught sight of Lord Diavinx being led in chains into a dungeon, they hurled insults at him. Seeing him getting locked up brought so much happiness and relief to them.

They were saddened that none of their missing daughters were found at the hideout. This confirmed their worst fear that they were killed off. Grieving loved ones mourned loudly and tore their clothes. While they were glad that the man behind the killings was arrested, they were sad that they would never see their girls again.

Word got out that it was Sharaina who defeated him. People were intrigued by this. They all wanted to see her. Reporters asked for her but she was nowhere to be seen. She was sitting on Light's bed with her sore leg resting on a pillow. Light got into the room with a glass of milk. He handed it to her and sat down on the bed.

"I used up a great deal of my gamarax. The only way I can relieve you of your pain is by doing it manually. It will hurt." Light told her.

"It's okay, just do it. The sooner I'm healed, the better." She said with a hint of fear in her voice.

Light waited for her to drink all her milk. He held her leg and Sharaina closed her eyes. When she felt him firm his hold on her leg, she braced herself for the pain. Light smiled at her and gave her leg one squeeze and let go of her. Sharaina opened her eyes puzzled.

"That's it?" She asked him.

"Yes that's it." Light answered her.

"I thought you said that it was going to hurt." Sharaina continued, confused.

"I only said that to mess with you. You know that I can't inflict pain on you. I'd rather go out and hunt than hurt you. What I did was to hit the pressure points that were causing you so much pain. That's all there is to it." Light explained with a soft laugh.

"Do you really love me that much Light?"

"More than you will ever know."

Sharaina faced down in regret and shame. "I'm sorry for kicking you out that night. I lost my temper when you looked at me unfairly. I am not nor have I ever cheated on you with Naraygeous. You are the only man I love Light. Your attitude towards me when you find me with Naraygeous is a big issue for me."

"Well I'll admit that what I said was disrespectful. I should have known better. I'm not asking you to stop being friends with him though. What I want is for you to have boundaries. It is so disrespectful for me to catch you and him in awkward situations. How would you like it if you found me like that with another woman?" Light asked Sharaina.

"I would kill you." Sharaina voiced out without thinking and immediately realized her flaw in everything. Light raised his eyebrow at her realization. "I promise that I will set up boundaries with Naraygeous and all my male friends. You are my priority therefore I must respect your feelings."

Light smiled. "You don't know how long I have waited to hear you say that."

Sharaina leaned closer for a kiss and Light gladly obliged. The feeling of his tongue twirling softly against hers aroused her. She got hold of his shirt and the kiss deepened. Light broke away and felt Sharaina's warm breath on his lips as she panted for more.

"Why are you teasing me?" She whined and pulled him close for another kiss only to be left wanting more again. "Light -" She whined again and heard him chuckle. "It's been two weeks since the last time we made love. I need you now."

Light softly bit her lip and pulled it gently before releasing and pecking it. He grinned mischievously at Sharaina's moan. Light picked Sharaina up in his arms and headed to the bathroom.

"What are doing?" Sharaina giggled.

"We are going to have a bath together and then maybe - just maybe, we will do everything you want." He softly said to her with a giggle of his own.

In no time, the both of them were soaking in the bath tub. The steamy water relaxed their muscles while Light delicately bathed Sharaina with a sponge. As soon as they were clean and dry, they retreated to the bed where they made passionate love.

Lord Diavinx was forced down on his knees at the castle. He was completely bound in manite chains that suppressed his powers. He grinned at the angry crowd of people that booed at him and hurled disgusting insults. Some people threw stones and their shoes at him but gamarax manipulators shielded him with a force field.

King Meelzib stepped forward and people cheered at him. They were so happy that he kept his word and had Diavinx brought before them. The people felt so happy that Lord Diavinx was going to be punished harshly for his crimes against Dark Star.

Sevilon and Ouman watched everything with straight faces. They knew that the real culprit was the king. They pitied the people because as long as Sharaina wasn't found, King Meelzib was going to keep hunting down their daughters.

"Diavinx, lord of the MidNight Crawlers, I hereby sentence you to The Terror Hole. You will face Death in seven days." King Meelzib declared to the joy of the people.

The Terror Hole was a deep arena where criminals were thrown into. Once in there, a beast known as Death would be released and they would have to fight it for their survival. Warrior Darkas gods were leashed with manite chains in order to prevent them from using their weapons or summoning their dragons. The whole arena made it impossible to open portals so the only way out was to defeat the beast on strength and tactic only.

This was a death trap for many darkas gods thrown in. This was especially worse for forth class. The ones who managed to survive gained their freedom but this almost never happened. Death devoured everyone thrown into the arena. Rumor had it that one bite from Death had twice the natrifin venom of a dragon bite.

Knowing that Diavinx was going to be thrown in The Terror Hole made everyone so happy. They immediately started buying tickets to his untimely death.

Diavinx said nothing. He knew that it was pointless to argue because everyone had already deemed him guilty. Guards roughly picked him up and took him away to wait for his demise.

Akirexer was reading alone in the living room when she heard a knock on the door. She asked Emelinia to open it. Emelinia carried Nalvin in her arms and went to open the door.

She wasn't surprised to see reporters outside the door. Upon seeing her, they all started asking her questions about Sharaina at once. Akirexer heard the noise and she closed her book. She went outside and the reporters turned to her.

Is Captain Sharaina here?

Are you her mother?

Do you know that she was the one that defeated the Lord of the MidNight Crawlers?

Are you proud of your talented daughter?

Where is her father? Are you a single mother?

Akirexer went back into the house and Emelinia closed the door on the reporters. She peeped at the window and saw that they were still outside. More arrived at the house and Emelinia shook her head with a smile. From the look of things, they weren't planning on leaving any time soon.

"Sharaina has caused quite a stir." Emelinia said as she joined Akirexer in the living room.

"My daughter is the one that defeated Lord Diavinx. My Sharaina defeated him. The little girl I used to hold in my arms? She is getting stronger." Akirexer said with pride.

"If only you knew just how strong she is going to be one day." Emelinia added.

Precious came down stairs and went to Emelinia. "Mama, what's all the noise I'm hearing outside?" She asked as she rubbed her eyes.

"Reporters are asking about your aunt Sharaina. Don't mind them. You will have to spend all afternoon inside okay?" Emelinia warmly told Precious and she nodded her head. "Here, take your brother upstairs to nap."

The next day, Liss strutted into the Head Office of Commander Sevilon. She was in her red Great Academy uniform. In her hand was a newspaper.

She headed straight for Sharaina's office. Sharaina's secretary already knew her. She gave Liss a thumb up and Liss got into Sharaina's office. Liss threw the newspaper on Sharaina's desk with her eyes beaming with excitement.

"You are the fifth person to throw this paper in my face this morning." Sharaina said to Liss and blew on her coffee.

"Do you not realize how famous you have become? There's literally an article with your biography in here. The whole Kingdom is talking about you. Not only you but Light too. He is the only gamarax manipulator that managed to track down the hideout. He is to get a promotion." Liss chuckled. "You two are a power couple."

Sharaina laughed. "Well I don't know what I can say about that. I have read both articles. I especially hate the picture they used of me that had me with dyed hair. The article had some exaggerated lies too. I have never punched a dragon as a baby nor have I ever wrestled with kremis in middle school. Seriously, who writes these things?"

Liss burst out laughing. "I'm the one who told them that you did all that stuff. I didn't think that they would believe it."

"Why I'm I not surprised?" Sharaina rolled her eyes at her and smiled. She suddenly sighed and rubbed her forehead.

Liss sat down concerned. "Sharaina, are you okay?"

"I just have a slight headache. I thought this coffee was going to help but-"

"How long have you been feeling like this?" Liss interrupted.

"Since last night. I threw up this morning before coming here." Sharaina added and slurped up her coffee.

"Have you thought of taking a pregnancy test?" Liss said and Sharaina looked at her surprised. "Well?"

"Liss you know that I am incapable of having children."

Liss shook her head. "Now we don't know that for sure. Remember, your tests just showed that it's not easy for you to conceive. Light explained to you that the excess gamarax in you makes it difficult for you to ovulate."

"Yes but still." Sharaina expressed her doubt with a dismissive wave.

"Okay at least take a pregnancy test." Liss pressed on but Sharaina just looked at her. "Sharaina,"

"Okay, I will take one when I get off work." Sharaina finally agreed to Liss's pleasure.

Nami sat quietly as she waited for Sariba, Yolin's mother; to calm down. The two had met to discuss the wedding preparations when Nami told Sariba about Light and Sharaina. Sariba angrily walked back and forth in her marble living room. The chandelier above her head twinkled at the light illuminating the room ever so perfectly.

Sariba was so furious that she threw her wine glass on the floor. Yolin ran to her and held her hands.

"Mama you have to calm down. It's okay. Please let us forget this." Yolin begged.

Yolin was under the impression that her engagement to Light was cancelled. She was completely shocked to hear Nami tell her mother that the engagement was never cancelled.

"That girl could have used a love portion against my son. She is so shameless Sariba. I actually told her personally to stay away from Light but she rudely told me that she will never do so." Nami said with a frown.

"How dare she try to steal from my daughter?!" Sariba exploded. "You should have told me this sooner. I would have dealt with her!"

"Mama please, I'm begging you let us forget this." Yolin begged her mother again, almost to the point of kneeling.

"Never! If people find out that you have being rejected, who will marry you? Our reputation will be ruined! We are one of the noble families. We cannot allow a stupid girl to tarnish our image and trample on our respect." Sariba grabbed her purse. "We are going to her office now!" Sariba said. "Open a portal to her office." She ordered Yolin but she hesitated. "NOW!" She thundered.

Yolin helplessly opened a portal to Sevilon's Head Office. Sariba stormed into the building with Yolin panicking behind her while Nami smiled evilly. Sariba asked for Sharaina and was led to her secretary. Sariba didn't have to talk to the secretary because Sharaina and Liss just walked out of Sharaina's office.

Sariba went to Sharaina, pulled out a wedding card from her purse and threw it at Sharaina's face. Sharaina and Liss were stunned with this. Everyone turned to look at them. They watched Liss pick up the card.

Her eyes widened when she saw Light's and Yolin's names on the card. She showed it to Sharaina and her world stood still.

"Have you no shame?" Sariba asked Sharaina. "You know that Light is engaged to my daughter but still you forced yourself on him. Let me ask you again, have you no shame?"

"Mama please stop this. You are creating an embarrassing scene." Yolin begged Sariba.

"Shut up! This man stealing whore isn't a person you should concern yourself with. Your father and I worked hard to secure your future! We can never allow a girl like her to ruin all our efforts!" Sariba screamed at Yolin. She furiously pointed at Sharaina. "I know cheap girls like you that love to seduce rich boys. With your kind it is always about money and never about integrity. I bet you got this captain position by selling yourself but I am not going to get into that. What I want to know is why you had the guts to try and steal my daughter's man."

At that point vice commander Holan came out of his office. He looked at Sariba humiliating Sharaina in front of everyone. He decided not to intervene. With folded arms, he stood at his door and watched everything in silence.

"Please this is a misunderstanding." Liss spoke up. "Why don't we go into the office and discuss this?" She suggested.

"No we will talk right here. I want to expose this girl for the harlot that she is. She is so quick to sleep with my daughter's fiancé in secret therefore I should be quick to expose her in public. It is women like her that disgrace all of us. Her parents must be so proud!"

"Mama that's enough!" Yolin yelled at Sariba.

"Sharaina how could you do this?" Nami asked Sharaina. "I was under the impression that you were Light's friend. How could you bring so much shame upon us?" Nami shed crocodile tears dramatically.

Sharaina turned to Yolin. She walked towards her and the two locked eyes. Yolin could see the hurt in her eyes. "Is all this true?" Sharaina asked her.

"Sharaina this is a misunderstanding." Yolin tried.

"Are you Light's fiancée?" Sharaina asked Yolin.

"Sharaina I can explain." Yolin backed away.

"Are you his fiancée or not Yolin?!" Sharaina angrily raised her voice.

"Yes I am!" Yolin raised her voice too.

Sharaina put her hands together. "I am sorry." She said.

Sharaina walked away and dashed out of the building. Liss ran after her. Unfortunately, by the time she caught up with her, she had already disappeared into a portal.

Sariba whipped her hair back and walked away. Nami followed her out feeling so victorious.

There's only one last thing to do and they will be separated forever. She snickered to herself.

Sharaina stepped out and faced the Gamarax Association building in Cherilisia. She went straight to Light's office. His secretary told her that he was currently in a meeting in the board room. Sharaina headed for the board room. The secretary ran after her begging her to not go in but Sharaina didn't listen to her. She burst into the board room and Light looked at her astonished.

"I need to talk to you now." She demanded with hostility.

"Can't it wait? I'm in an important meeting." Light smiled at her trying his best to hide his embarrassment.

"I am outside waiting for you. You have five minutes." She said and stormed out.

Light got up feeling humiliated. "I am sorry about that. I'll be right back." He apologized.

Once he closed the door behind him, a scowl formed on his face. He stormed out to meet Sharaina and found her standing under a tree away from the building. Sharaina glared at him as he approached her.

"Sharaina, what the hell is this?" Light asked her, annoyed.

Sharaina threw the wedding card at him. "What the hell is that?" She asked him back.

Light was astonished to see the wedding card. He was even more shocked that the wedding date was in two weeks. "What the hell?" He whispered under his breath.

Sharaina raised her hands. "You thought that I wouldn't find out?" She asked him.

"Sharaina none of this is true. I don't understand what is happening." Light was stupefied but Sharaina wasn't believing it.

"How much of an idiot do you think I am huh? Now I understand why you were so insecure. You thought that I would be doing the things that you were doing!" Sharaina held her forehead and her tears fell. "How could you do this to me Light? I trusted you so much! You lied to me that you broke off your engagement! Your family didn't even know that we were in a relationship. Your mother plainly denied everything to my face. Today I have suffered the worst form of humiliation and it is all your fault!"

"Sharaina you have to believe me. I had no part in this. This is news to me."

"All this time you were engaged to Yolin? Why didn't you tell me this? I still don't understand how the both of you decided to keep this from me."

Sharaina cried. Light took a step closer other but she waved her hand aggressively. The pavement beneath their feet cracked. "Stay away from me!" She warned with fangs out. She felt the beast mode manifesting and she fought it. "We are through." She said in between her fangs. "I don't ever want to see you again do you hear me? Stay away from me!"

Sharaina lunged up into the sky and vanished into a portal. Light felt weak in his knees. His whole world blackened. He sat down and pulled down his tie; held his head and pulled on his long hair in despair.

Light thought that he made it clear to Nami that he wasn't going to marry Yolin. She fooled him into thinking that she had accepted Sharaina when in the actual sense she planned on separating them in the cruelest way possible.

Yolin got out of a portal fuming with rage. She saw Light sitting on a bench and she went to him cursing at him underneath her breath. She was about to give him a piece of her mind when she saw how distraught he was. Yolin calmed down and realized that he wasn't at fault. She quietly sat beside him.
