Chapter 72: Chapter 72
"Where I'm I? Why can't I move any part of my body?"
Tamithra had just opened her eyes after nearly a week of hibernation. She tried to sit up but to her horror, she couldn't even lift her head. The buzzing sound of nurses talking to each other as they checked on other hibernating patients was all Tamithra could hear. None of them had noticed that she woke up.
"Oh I am at a Hibernation Center."
She tried to call for help but her voice was so dry that she could barely hear it. She remembered what had happened and a warm tear escaped her eye and ran down her cheek to her neck. She moved her eyes around the room and the only thing she could see clearly was the ceiling. Everything else was a blur.
A nurse came into the room with a note pad. She first opened the window and spread the curtains open. She then went to the drip connected to Tamithra's hand. She took note of it and turned to tuck in Tamithra when she noticed that she was awake. The nurse smiled warmly at Tamithra, said something to her that she couldn't hear and left the room.
"Why was she so excited?" Tamithra was puzzled.
Tamithra tried to move her limbs again but they were out cold. She felt so frustrated that the only things she could move were her eyes. She had to go to the police and report everything. She hoped that the nurse left to get the police. Tamithra closed her eyes and thought back to that fateful day. It was a day that would traumatize her forever.
"Why have you brought me here Wayu!?" Tamithra screamed at a man.
He towered over her and looked down at her with a smirk on his face. His pink sharp eyes were warm but they disgusted her. He roughly snatched Tamithra's chin and pulled her close to his face.
Tamithra spat in his face and he immediately let go of her. He took out a handkerchief from the jacket of his smart suit. He wiped the spit off and slowly put the handkerchief back into his pocket. With the back of his left hand he slapped her hard across the face that it sent her stumbling down. Tamithra breathed heavily as she glared at him.
"Why do you always force my hand on you my love?" He asked her with a warm smile. "Is this what you can say to your husband after being away from him for so long?" He snickered.
"I am not your wife anymore. I refuse to be married to a man with numerous concubines. Go and pick one of them to warm your bed at night!" Tamithra screamed at him.
"Oh like you are the one to talk?"Wayu lit his cigar. He spread his hands and said. "I have heard of how you have been going after your married ex-boyfriend. How could you do that despite having a handsome and millionaire husband like me?" He asked her with a smirk.
"I am not your wife!" Tamithra shouted at him. "I will never ever get back together with you."
Her response only made Wayu laugh like a demented psychopath. He laughed so hard that Tamithra began to get a little scared. She crawled away backwards and turned to run when a huge man blocked her way. Tamithra turned only to meet Wayu's eyes. He grabbed the back of her neck and led her to the edge of a cliff.
"I saw you leaving the hospital earlier. Care to tell me why?" He lovingly asked her. He gave Tamithra's hair a sniff and goosebumps spread throughout her body.
"That's none of your business." She mouthed.
"But it is my business. You are my wife." He said to her and kissed her cheek.
"I am not your wife." Tamithra aggressively said.
"Oh but you are. Those divorce papers you signed were fake." He laughed and Tamithra was astonished. "I decided to give you some space for a few months. Today was the day I was supposed to take you back home with me but I received devastating news about you."
Wayu abruptly turned Tamithra to face him. He pointed to her belly and Tamithra's heart skipped a beat. "Who is responsible for that child you are carrying?" He furiously asked her.
Fear now found its way into Tamithra's heart. "Please Wayu just let me go." She begged.
She had a one night stand with a stranger three months ago after a drunken night out. She had only discovered that she was expecting. She hadn't yet come to terms with everything when Wayu had her kidnapped. Wayu was so powerful in the underground world. He was in league with lord Diavinx of the Mid Night Crawlers. He had spies everywhere so she wasn't surprised that he had already found out.
"Tell me the name of the bastard that had the nerve of planting his seed into my wife!" Wayu raised his voice and Tamithra screamed.
"I gave you everything Tamithra. Just to keep you happy I even gave you a fake divorce. How could you warm another man's bed? I want to know who this son of a bitch is!" He pulled out his gun and pointed it at Tamithra and she yelped. "I know Naian isn't responsible because my men have been watching him. Don't think of lying to me. You know what I am capable."
"I don't know him. I can't even remember his face." Tamithra begged. Her tears poured as she knelt down before Wayu with her hands held together. "Please let me go." She sobbed.
"Get up!" Wayu commanded her but she hesitated. "Get the fuck up!" He ordered her and she got up with a jolt.
Wayu walked towards her and looked into her teary eyes full of fear. He grabbed her hair and pressed his lips roughly against hers. The kiss knocked Tamithra's breath out of her lungs. She felt weak in her knees. After two minutes Wayu pulled away and raised his brow at Tamithra's smudged lip stick. He assumed that some of it got on him so he wiped whatever he thought was there.
"Please have mercy." Tamithra begged.
"Jump." Wayu coldly told her.
Tamithra was flabbergasted. She looked down and saw that it was going to be a terrible fall if she jumped down. She could see a pile of boulders below. She shook her head and got down on her knees again. Wayu wasn't moved by this. He pulled her hand so hard that Tamithra thought that it was going to pop out of her socket. He looked her dead in the eye. His burning anger was all Tamithra could see.
"I'll see you soon." He said to her and threw her off the cliff. Tamithra screamed all the way down until she fell hard on the boulders.
The nurse returned and went to Tamithra. "A gentleman is here to see you." This time around, Tamithra could hear her clearly. "Would you like him to come in?"
Tamithra wanted to tell her yes but her voice wouldn't come out. She had gained the sense of hearing only to lose speech. All this was frustrating. Tamithra blinked her eyes twice and the nurse took the hint.
Tamithra assumed that it was a captain there to see her but when her weak eyes set on Wayu, they widened in horror. Wayu pulled a stool close to the bed and he smiled warmly at Tamithra. He gently placed his palm on Tamithra's bandaged face. His hand moved down to her belly and he chuckled. He looked back into Tamithra's eyes and said,
"Now that the obstacle between us has been expelled, we can go home and have our happy ever after." Wayu softly said.
My baby is gone? Tamithra panicked.
Wayu saw that she was struggling to speak. Her tears kept pouring as she struggled to open her mouth. He, however, knew what Tamithra wanted to say so his pressed his finger against her chapped lips. "It was flashed out. Your fall killed it. Isn't that great?" He clapped his hands in excitement. "The police will be here soon to question you about what happened to you." Wayu's voice turned dark. "You better know what to tell them or else I will call a hit on your precious little ex-boyfriend. You wouldn't want that now would you?" He grimly threatened.
"Rest well my love. I will come and take you home this afternoon. Once we get home, we can work on having our very own baby now that the fucking foreign seed has been taken out." Wayu winked at her. He got up and gave Tamithra a kiss on her forehead.

Sharaina got up to take a shower. She looked at Alainara who was sleeping soundly in her bed. She looked so cute that Sharaina couldn't resist kissing her cheek. She wondered what had happened at home to make Alainara run away. She remembered that Alainara felt ignored. She found this a little hard to believe considering that Alainara was always smothered with love by Naian and her parents especially Sharumez.
Sharaina was on her way out of the shower when she heard a knock at her door. Sharaina opened the door slightly and was delighted to see Lalina. She gave her way and turned to keep drying her hair. Sharaina placed the towel on her shoulder and looked at Lalina who just shook her head at her in disapproval.
"What's the matter?" Sharaina asked her.
"I still don't get why you would want to get rid of your golden hair." She said.
"Well shit happens." Sharaina answered and picked up her lotion.
Lalina looked over to Alainara. "What are you going to do about her?" She asked.
"I'm think of having Light take her back home. Would you mind taking her to him?" Sharaina asked Lalina and applied lotion to her hands.
"There's no need for that. I can take her back myself." Lalina offered and sat on the only chair in the room.
"Oh wow that would be great. Just hold on, I'll give you my address." Sharaina excitedly said.
"No need for that either. I already know where your home is." Lalina answered and blew on her freshly peach painted nails. "As a matter of fact, I was at your house yesterday. I met your family." Lalina raised her eyebrows up and down.
Sharaina was stunned. "What? How come?" She asked her.
Lalina's jaw dropped. "Even you don't know?" She held her own face in over exaggerated shock. Lalina rolled her eyes. "Anyway, I recently discovered that Emelinia is my younger sister. The other night she came to check on you as you slept. I'm guessing, she had a premonition that you got hurt. Anyway the sight of her prompted me to track her down." Lalina explained.
Sharaina sat on her bed in shock. So vice commander Holan was Emelinia's father after all? He was the one who ruined Channy and Emelinia's lives? He was the reason why Emelinia had it rough growing up?
On one hand he spoiled one daughter and on the other hand he completely rejected the other one. Sharaina was disgusted to finally know who Emelinia's father was. Lalina took note of that and crossed her legs.
"You don't have to hide it. I know my father is a jerk for what he did." She admitted with shame. "But I am only his child therefore I can't question him. I don't know why he decided to betray my mother and father a child elsewhere. What I do know however is that I have a half sister. I am curious about her. The first time I saw her I just wanted to kill her and track her mother down, giving her the same fate." Lalina paused. "But the look she gave you the other night made me have second thoughts. I could genuinely see the goodness in her."
"She is a sweet person." Sharaina added. "How long have you known that she is your sister?" Sharaina asked her.
"For eight months now." Lalina sighed. "I can't look at my father with a straight face anymore. I also couldn't help but feel hurt that my mother doesn't know about my father's illegitimate child. I couldn't muster the courage to tell her. Being at home became suffocating that's why I moved out and started living here at the castle." Lalina further explained.
Sharaina dramatically sighed and threw herself on her bed waking Alainara up. Lalina was puzzled by this. "Are you okay Sharaina?" She asked.
"No I am not. How can I be okay after finding out that I am related to your you? This sucks!" Sharaina whined.
Lalina furiously got up and pumped her fist in the air - shaking in anger. "You are even lucky that you have a classy in law like me. How dare you whine about me being related to you?" Lalina scolded Sharaina and she and Alainara laughed at her.

Emelinia decorated her unborn baby's coat bed with the new pillows she had just made. She placed a stuffed brown rabbit she had bought that morning next to the other dolls in the bed.
Emelinia chuckled a little when she remembered how Naian told her that the dolls were too many. She held her belly and smiled down at it. She couldn't wait to set her eyes on her little one.
Emelinia poked her chin; wondering if it was going to be a boy or a girl. Naian refused her to use her powers in order to find out. He insisted that knowing the gender of the baby at the time of birth was much more meaningful.
Emelinia didn't protest to his decision. The gender of the baby didn't matter to her. What she cared about was of the baby was going to have its father's dimples. Emelinia stared at her own reflection through the full body length mirror. She smiled to herself as she admired her baby bump.
Her door suddenly opened and it startled her. Standing at the door was angry looking Emana. She looked at Emelinia from head to toe and rolled her eyes. Emelinia wondered wrong she could have possibly done now. She swallowed hard and braced herself for one of Emana's ear aching scolding.
"Your sister is here. She requests your presence." Emana left without waiting for Emelinia to respond.
Emelinia felt irritated that Lalina was back there again. She thought that she made it clear to her that she didn't want to get close to her. She took a deep breath and left her room. As she got down the stairs, she joined everyone in shock as they stared at Alainara who looked timid in her own home. Lalina on the other hand was as calm as she could ever be. She quietly blew on her nails. A strange man sat calmly beside Lalina. Emelinia took one look at him and turned her eyes to Lalina. When Lalina saw Emelinia she smiled at her.
"It took you long enough to get here." Lalina said to Emelinia.
Emelinia didn't respond to her but instead turned to Alainara. "Dear where have you been? You had us all worried sick. We even filed a missing persons report."
Alainara rolled her eyes and glared at Emelinia. "Don't act like you care about me." She rudely said to Emelinia.
Akirexer didn't like it one bit. "Alainara that is not how you talk to your elders! Do you have any idea how worried sick we all were? I literally cried myself to sleep! Emelinia too! What's wrong with you?" Akirexer scolded her.
Alainara got up. "What's wrong with me?" She pointed at herself. "Nothing is wrong with me mama but everything is wrong with all of you!" She screamed.
"Alainara keep your voice down when you are talking to your mother." Sharumez angrily told her.
Seeing Sharumez angry with her broke her heart. He was always the one that treated her so softly like she was a baby. He rarely scolded her and when he did, he never expressed his anger. Now today because of Emelinia, he was angry with her. Alainara glared at Emelinia with so much hatred in her eyes that Emelinia stepped back.
"This is all your fault." She said to her. "You and that baby's fault!" She raised her voice. "Everyone used to love me and now they only love you!" Alainara screamed.
Akirexer gave her a tight slap across her face. Alainara looked at her with wide eyes. Emelinia felt bad for Alainara so she wanted to take her away from there but Alainara scowled at her. She averted her eyes back to her mother without wiping the scowl off her face. Alainara wiped her tears without blinking her eyes.
"You are grounded indefinitely. If you ever decide to run away again, you should forget that you have a mother." Akirexer coldly told Alainara.
"I regret listening to Sharaina. I should have insisted on staying with her." Alainara whispered loud enough for everyone to hear. She ran upstairs to her room and banged the door shut.
There was awkward silence in the room. Lalina looked at everyone and stretched her lips down. She cleared her throat and got Sharumez and Naian's attention. "Don't you think that was a bit much?" She asked Akirexer.
"Of course I didn't mean what I said. I said it all in anger." Akirexer answered her without taking her eyes off the staircase.
"You should apologize to her and maybe ask her why she ran away in the first place." Lalina continued.
"Um no offense but she doesn't need your advice." Emelinia rudely voiced out.
"Emelinia don't speak to her like that." Naian rebuked her and she angrily looked away. Naian diverted his eyes to Lalina whose smirk clearly showed that she wasn't the slightest bit offended by Emelinia's remark. "Thank you for returning her to us. You have lifted a huge burden off our shoulders." Naian expressed gratitude.
"Don't mention it." Lalina said with a smile that only infuriated Emelinia more.
"You haven't introduced the gentleman with you." Naian continued.
"Oh my, where are my manners?" Lalina giggled and Emelinia rolled her eyes. "Everyone meet Mr Onando. He is to be Emelinia's lawyer." She said. "Don't worry about the bill."
Emelinia got angry at that. "We don't need your charity!"
Emana got up from her seat at the sound of that. "Are you insane? Of course we need it! Because of you we were going to go broke but now we have a chance to keep our savings and you want to act proud. Come on just shut up!"
"Grandma, I respect you a lot so please don't tempt me to say something I will regret. You don't know anything about me. If you did, you would have understood why I can't accept any more help from her." Emelinia sternly said to Emana.
Emana angrily looked at Naian. "Are you going to let your wife talk to me like that?" She asked him but Naian said nothing. "No wonder Alainara ran away from this house. If I had a choice I would have run away too but alas I am stuck here until my husband returns to Dark Star."
"Mama please calm down." Sharumez softly said to Emana and she angrily looked away.
Lalina raised her eyebrow. "Is it always this dramatic here?" She asked. "Now I am starting to think that Sharaina is the normal one." Lalina said and Emelinia rolled her eyes in disgust.
Lalina activated her coal black sword and pinned it on Emelinia's neck. Naian didn't like that one bit. Sharumez and Akirexer fixed their eyes on the sword. Emana smirked at the sight with her hands folded. The lawyer on the other hand felt very uncomfortable. He, however, wasn't as uncomfortable as Emelinia. She felt the tip of the cold blade as she swallowed.
"I have not activated my sword to intimidate you but to get your undivided attention. Emelinia whether you choose to accept my help or not; the fact that we are sisters still remains. You hate seeing my face right? Well to be honest I wanted to kill you the day I overheard you and my father talking. I felt so much anger because you were the single living evidence that was going to ruin my parents' marriage. I wanted to hunt you down and torture you and your mother." Lalina confessed.
"But you know, when I thought about it, I realized that none of this is your fault. We don't choose how we come into this world. Only our parents have that choice. I didn't choose to have you as my sister. My father decided this when he had an affair with your mother." Lalina said. Emelinia gritted her teeth at the mention of her mother. "I'm not here to judge your mother either."
Lalina deactivated her sword to everyone's relief. She stepped closer to Emelinia and gave her a warm hug. Everyone was astonished at that. Lalina moved her lips close to Emelinia's ear and whispered, "If you can't accept me as your sister, at least accept me as Sharaina's friend. As her friend I will pay your lawyer." She let go of Emelinia and smiled at her.
"I don't know." Emelinia took a step back and dropped her gaze.
"Seeing Sharaina and Alainara made me yearn for a relationship with you as my sister. Why must the sins of our parents stop us from bonding?" Lalina softly stressed.
"Emelinia, she is right. Put your past behind you and accept her." Naian went to Lalina's aid.
Emelinia glanced at everyone else and realized that they all wanted her to accept Lalina. "Okay." She finally agreed and sent smiles across the room.
A sudden knock was heard at the door. Sharumez gestured for Akirexer to open it and she obeyed. Everyone was surprised to see two officers walk into the living room with her. In one's hand was a sealed envelope. One of the guards called out to Emelinia. Onando got up, adjusted his neck tie and stepped forward.
"I am her lawyer. You will speak to me." He said.
The officer handed the envelope to Onando. Without another word, Onando opened the letter. His eyes quickly ran through the letter. He turned to Lalina and said, "It says that Emelinia has been acquitted of all charges." Everyone sighed at his words. "Apparently, Tamithra woke up and made a statement. She said that she decided to self-hibernate." He further explained.
"That is not all, Mr Wayu, Tamithra's husband requests the presence of Naian and Emelinia. He is currently waiting outside in a carriage." An officer said.
Naian and Emelinia were stunned to hear that. All this time, Tamithra told them that she was divorced. Naian and Emelinia followed the guards outside. They pointed at the flashy and expensive looking carriage of gold and silver along the road.
The stallions standing strong in front of it looked like they were on steroids. They were bigger and more masculine than average horses. Naian saw that Emelinia was nervous. He held her hand and she looked up at him.
Naian went with Emelinia to the carriage while the two officers disappeared into a portal behind them. Smoke was coming out through the door. Wayu put out his cigar and smiled warmly at Naian and Emelinia.
"Don't just stand there, please do come in." He said with a wide smile.
Naian got in first and when he was convinced that it was safe, he proceeded to help Emelinia in. Emelinia was taken aback to see Tamithra looking so pale.
Tamithra was wrapped in a white blanket even though she was sweating profusely. She averted her eyes from Naian and Emelinia but instead chose to look down. Despite everything Tamithra did to them, Naian and Emelinia felt bad seeing her in that condition.
Wayu had his hand over her shoulder. His care free and jovial attitude despite his wife's condition bothered them. Wayu took off his top hat and placed it on the table. He shook his head in order to put his dark long curly in order. When he was sure that it was okay, he winked at Naian and Emelinia.
"I'm sure you are wondering why I have called you here." He began with a demented smile. "Well you see, I would firstly like to apologize for my wife's behavior in the past. She is a crazy one. That's why I love her." He said and gave Tamithra a peck. Naian and Emelinia could clearly see that she was disgusted by it. "Tamithra darling, tell them what you are supposed to tell them." He merrily requested of her. "Come on hurry up. Make sure you look at them as you are saying it." His tone turned dark.
Tamithra shamefully looked at Naian. Her eyes turned to Emelinia. She was puzzled with how concerned Emelinia was. Tamithra almost scoffed at the thought of Emelinia pitying her. Wayu lost his patience so he cleared his throat. Tamithra tried to find her voice. She opened her mouth and felt a blockage in her throat. She cleared it softly and swallowed.
"Naian I am sorry for coming after you despite knowing that you are married." Each word hurt her throat as she spoke and pierced her heart. "You love Emelinia and not me. It is high time I accepted that and moved on." She almost felt her tears forming. She held them back so hard that a lump was formed in her throat hence increasing the pain that was already there. She turned to Emelinia. "I will never disturb your marriage again. I guarantee you that you will never see me again. Please forgive me for everything." Tamithra finished and this time her tears escaped.
Wayu took out his handkerchief and lovingly wiped Tamithra's tears. "My love don't cry. You know that your tears bother me." Wayu said and kissed her cheek. He turned to Naian. "You have heard what my wife had to say. Do you accept her apology?" He boldly asked him.
Naian looked at Emelinia, then to Tamithra who tried her best to keep her eyes on her knees. "We accept her apology." He said.
Wayu clapped his hands softly with a chuckle. "Awesome!" He exclaimed. "Congratulations on your pregnancy. I'll be sure to send your little one a gift." He said.
"You don't have to." Naian declined.
"Oh but I insist." Wayu refused to take no for an answer. "It was fun meeting you two. Now here's what's going to happen. You will take your pregnant wife, who is clearly uncomfortable sitting on these chairs, back inside so that she can lie down. I will proceed to take my sick wife somewhere where she can get her rest. Sounds good?" He asked Naian and he nodded his head.
Naian helped Emelinia off the carriage and together, they watched it ride down the road.
"So there is one person who is able to handle her craziness." Emelinia commented.
"They absolutely deserve each other." Naian laughed softly and Emelinia joined him.
