Chapter 59: Chapter 59

"Oh honey I am so happy. I can't express the joy that I am feeling right now. We must tell Naian." Channy excitedly said.

Emelinia scowled at her remark. "I am not going back to that house mama." She refused. "This pregnancy won't change my decision."

"Do not be foolish Emelinia. Do you think that being a single mother is easy just because I single handedly raised you?" Channy firmly rebuked her with a scowl of her own. "You will return to your husband's house."

Emelinia growled at her and went into her bedroom. She banged the door shut and threw herself on her bed.

Emelinia put a hand over her belly and calmed down a little. She looked at the rings on her finger and scowled again. Emelinia sat up right and held them. She was about to take them off when the memories of her happiness with Naian came flooding in.

Emelinia remembered about the lesson she learnt in her book. She thought only about Naian and waved her hand in the air. Despite being angry with him, she felt happy to see him.

Her soft eyes observed that he was stressed. To her surprise, he was in their room and not at the carpentry.

It's not like him to get off work early. Emelinia bit her lower lip as she watched him lying on the bed.

Emelinia saw him get off their bed and walk out of the room. To her surprise, he went and knocked at Sharaina's door. When Sharaina opened the door, Emelinia gasped.

Sharaina is home? She smiled. Mama and papa must be so happy.

Naian waved at Liss and Mayla before turning his attention back to Sharaina. "I want to speak with you right now. Come with me to my room."

"What is the matter Naian?" Sharaina asked him after closing the door in Naian's room. Emelinia leaned closer in order to listen clearly.

"Papa said that he and Jenu are going to go and convince Emelinia to return after tomorrow. Sharaina I am not sure that I will be able to wait that long. I miss her and I want her back here. I just want to prove my innocence to her." Naian said with desperation. "Every minute that goes by without her is driving me insane."

"So you want to secretly go after her and you need me to cover for you." Sharaina smirked and folded her hands.

"Well will you?" Naian asked her.

"I thought you'd never ask." Sharaina laughed softly.

Emelinia's spying window closed - making her lose sight of them. Naian was coming after her and she felt conflicted. She didn't know what to believe any more.

On one hand she had the painful memory of Naian and Tamithra and on the other hand she just saw how stressed he was without her home. He even looked sincere when he claimed that he was innocent.

"What he says is the truth." A voice suddenly sounded and it startled Emelinia. She gasped when she saw the owner of the voice. "Yes it is me, Dano. I did not mean to startle you."

"What are you doing here?" Emelinia asked him and hugged her pillow.

"I am here to stop you from making a foolish mistake." Dano boldly responded with a stoic look.

"What do you mean?" Emelinia asked him, confused.

"Your place isn't here but with your husband." Dano answered. "Remember that you have an important task child. You will not be able to fulfill it properly if you stay here. Moreover, Naian is innocent so there is no valid reason for you to leave your matrimonial home." Dano continued.

"Why can't anyone just understand my feelings." Emelinia muffled.

"Come with me." Dano opened a portal. He saw that Emelinia was hesitatant. "Come on, do not be afraid."

Emelinia nervously got up from her bed and followed Dano into the portal. She was shocked to find herself at the work shop. Her eyes landed on Janala who was busy working.

Emelinia was taken aback when she saw Janala walk passed her as though she wasn't there. She was about to ask her why when Tamithra entered the work shop.

Emelinia glared at her as she asked to see Naian. She saw the shock in Naian's eyes when he saw Tamithra. Emelinia walked to them but none of them paid attention to her. She waved her hands in Naian's face but he didn't turn to look at her. She tried speaking to him but it was like he couldn't hear her.

"What is going on?" Emelinia asked Dano.

"We have gone back in time. We seers have the ability to journey into the past and relieve events that have already happened." Dano explained. He pointed at Emelinia. "This is the only way you will see the truth you refuse to believe."

Emelinia listened to the conversation Naian and Tamithra had. She listened to Tamithra apologize to Naian and Naian's indifference stunned her. She felt a warm feeling when she listened to him tell her that he wasn't going to meet her in private.

Emelinia saw herself walk in. When she saw how Naian got up to go to her, she was glad.

She joined Tamithra in looking at how Naian was looking at her past self. His eyes had so much love in them. How could she have not seen that? She turned to look at Tamithra who was clearly burning with jealousy. When Tamithra finally left the shop, Dano held her shoulder and pointed at another portal he had opened.

"Come on let's go." Dano said and Emelinia obeyed.

The two of them found themselves at Karnam's bachelor party. Emelinia watched a dancer dance seductively for Naian with hurt in her eyes. Her hurt vanished immediately she saw how Naian got up and backed away from the woman. Emelinia saw the lip stick stain she left on his shirt and she felt embarrassed.

"I was completely wrong about that stain." she softly said to herself.

Emelinia followed Naian and Karnam outside and she listened to their conversation. She was so happy to hear Naian express his feelings for her to Karnam. She was over joyed to hear him say that he loved only her and not Tamithra. Emelinia realized that he truly meant it when he said that he had always loved her. Emelinia felt great remorse and shame for how she had reacted towards Naian.

"I have seen enough Dano." She said.

"Excellent." Dano said and opened a portal.

Emelinia stepped back into her room. "Thank you for showing me all that Dano. I really needed to see it."

"You're welcome child. I trust that you will make the right decision." Dano said to Emelinia and left.

Emelinia heard a knock on her door and she reluctantly told her mother to come in. However, instead of Channy, Naian entered the room. Emelinia wasn't expecting him to come so soon. She realized that Sharaina could have opened a portal for him. Naian looked so nervous. He chose to remain standing by the door and longingly looked at Emelinia.

"Emelinia, I am sorry for everything that happened." He began. "I should have told you the truth. It's just that I didn't see it necessary to do so because Tamithra is my past. And I -"

Emelinia walked over to Naian and gave him a kiss on his cheek. Naian was perplexed and horrified at the same time. He took a step back with his mouth agape.

Was this what father meant when he said that she would calm down after three days? No it hasn't even been three days yet. He reflected.

"I am the one who should be apologizing. I should have trusted you. I overreacted and almost made the biggest mistake of my life. Please forgive me. I promise to trust you completely from now on." Emelinia softly said and Naian hugged her wholeheartedly.

"You have no idea how much I missed you. Don't you ever leave me again." Naian said to her and she hugged him back.

"I will never leave you again Naian." Emelinia said. "I promise."

Emelinia was about to tell Naian about her pregnancy when they heard loud mourning. They promptly left the room and joined Channy outside.

Some of the neighbors were crying loudly. The three of them felt very concerned about what was happening. Because her mother was too weak to go and check what was happening, Naian and Emelinia went over to the neighbors.

A woman was crying uncontrollably on the ground while other women tried to console her. Another one was crying bitterly in the arms of her husband. Emelinia helped to pick the woman on the ground up. She held Emelinia's hands and said;

"My daughter was snatched from me before my eyes. I don't know why she was taken. Please help me find my daughter. She is my only child." The woman sobbed.

"My daughter has been missing since last night. Has she being snatched too?" The woman crying in her husband's hands asked in anguish.

Naian and Emelinia were saddened by that. They returned to the house and explained what they were told to Channy. Channy became deeply sad too.

"I hope those girls are brought back home safe." Channy sympathetically said.

"Yes mama, it is indeed a sad thing. The warriors assigned to this village must be already on it." Naian voiced out.

"Come mama, you need your rest. " Emelinia led Channy back into the house and Naian followed them in.

A little critter biting on a nut was scared back into its nest when the sound of a portal opening startled it. Despite being afraid, it was brave enough to have a look at who caused it so much fright. It watched in silence as Light stepped out of the portal and make his way to Sharaina's home.

Light hadn't seen Sharaina all week so the sight of her looking down at him from her bedroom window with a bright smile across her face gave him a warm feeling.

He winked at her and she blew him a kiss. Light pretended to catch the kiss and eat it instead of placing it on his heart. Sharaina chuckled at that and backed away from her window.

There was no one outside so Light stood at the door wondering whether to knock or not. Sharaina ran down the stairs and hastily opened the door. The door suddenly opening made Light step back. He was relieved to see that it was Sharaina who opened it. She gave him a big hug that made him stumble backwards and hold onto a pillar in order to keep himself from falling. The two of them laughed merrily together.

Sharumez saw everything and he raised his eyebrows. He shot Akirexer a baffled look and she gave him an assuring nod. Sharumez said nothing and went into the living room.

He was very surprised that his Sharaina had a boyfriend - a decent one at that. Over time he saw that Light was a good boy and he didn't give him any reason to doubt him.

He didn't mind that he was her boyfriend. What troubled him however was the fact that Sharaina didn't tell him about her relationship with Light. This made him wonder how long the two of them had been dating. Was it since the beginning or somewhere in the middle? These questions bothered him so.

He thought about how Naian kept his relationship with Tamithra a secret. Was he that strict that his children felt uncomfortable to tell him about their love lives?

Sharaina led Light into the living room. Akirexer smiled warmly at him and offered him a seat.

"Go and bring him the fresh fruit juice Naliya sent to us." Akirexer told Sharaina and she happily nodded.

Sharumez stared at Light so much that it made him feel uncomfortable. Light felt relieved when Akirexer sat down with them. Her presence got rid of most of the tension in the room.

"Where is Naian?" Light asked in an attempt to break the awkward silence.

"He left to visit some old friends yesterday. He may return today." Akirexer said.

Sharaina gave Light a glass of juice and he thanked her with a nod. She sat down next to him and Sharumez involuntarily jerked his brow up. Akirexer was the only one who noticed this and she winked at Sharaina.

Sharaina couldn't understand her mother's wink but she soon grasped what she was trying to say when Akirexer used her eyes to point at Sharumez. She mouthed 'oh' and Akirexer nodded her head.

"Papa..." Sharaina began. "There's something I have been meaning to tell you." She continued and Sharumez said nothing. "Well you see papa, Light and I are - " Sharaina looked at Light and saw that he was equally nervous. "We are dating." She finally said and felt a heavy load getting lifted off her shoulders.

"How long have you been together?" Sharumez asked them.

Light and Sharaina looked at each other once again. Sharaina turned away and faced her father. "For about five months now papa. I planned on telling you only when I was sure that our relationship was serious." Sharaina said.

"Oh I see." Sharumez held his chin and looked at Light. "Light, do you love my daughter?" He asked him.

"She is my life." Light answered.

"I know that you are a good boy Light. I have also observed how you have affected her life positively. However, I can't accept this relationship yet. I will let you know why in due time." Sharumez said and Sharaina frowned at her mother.

"I understand." Light answered.
