Chapter 56: Chapter 56

Frank's POV

"Am a classic man, oh baby am a classic man," I sang while I spun around on my heel to the beat.

"What has got you so happy this hot afternoon and why are you in a suit?" Fahvour my sister interrogated, beaming.

"This dude right here is in loooooveee," I stretched the word love and yanked her to me as I did an abrupt left to right slide that made her break out in fits of laughter before she spoke.

"And who said I didn't know about that?" She challenged, or should I say stated, a knowing gaze in my path.

"Ugh!" I groaned in disappointment. "Can't someone surprise you these days?"

She shook her head, a smirk etched on her lips as she let out a "Nope, not you because I'm always one step ahead. By the way, I hope it's who I think she is."

"Well, it all depends on who you think she is." I grinned, thinking I had the upper hand.

"Oh cut it."She scoffed. "We all know it's Joanna, duh."

"We, as in who?" I expected, a tad confused.

"Umm, me? Ifeanyi, Tony, Blake,  Tenda, no need to list anyway, how about I just say everyone," She recited, followed by a shrug.

"You are annoying, leave here." I pouted in irritation, as my plan to catch her off guard failed once more. She was right, always one step ahead of me. I wondered how that was possible though, hence I was the first twin to see the light.

"Now, back to my question why are you all dressed up?" She investigated after she hit me lightly on the arm to stop me from pouting.

"Isn't it obvious?" I questioned, as my heartbeat picked up due to my nervousness.

"I'm going over to Ana's house to take her on a date and declare my undying love for her, but not without telling her everything of course," I confided.

"Everything, as in everything?" She cross-examined, a shocked expression on her face as I had for once rendered her speechless.

"Yep, that's if she hasn't remembered already." I nodded and released a deep sigh.

"What do you mean by 'if she hasn't remembered already." She folded her arms.

"Ifeanyi told me some shit yesterday about how her tests have been coming out clean for a while now, and how it's very safe for her to remember, or be told," I responded.

"But are you ready to tell her?" She implored while she fixed my tie.

I gave her a full-blown smile. "I've been ready for years now. I'm ready to tell her everything, even the fact that I'm her secret texter."

"Haaah!" She exclaimed in surprise, even that?"

"Of course." I chuckled and struck a pose. "How do I look, sis?"

"You look good." She announced in a fake french accent that had me shaking my head as I cackled.

"Thank you, beautiful sister." I snickered and squeezed her cheeks.

"Stop that," She whined "Go get me, my sister-in-law."

"Ay ay captain," I saluted and steered straight for the door with one thought on my mind. I need to get Ana back.

I put the key in the ignition when I arrived at my car and drove off afterward as I pondered on ways to break it to her.

Should we go on a date first? Or should I tell her at home? I questioned my inner conscious.

Going on a date and telling her there sounded more romantic than telling her at home.

But telling her while on a date was also so cheezy, which I was nowhere near that.

"Ugh, fvck it." I groaned out in frustration and focused my attention on the road ahead.

I was still mumbling to myself when I entered her street. It made me notice how I spaced out during the ride as it was a scarcely far distance from my house, so the fact it felt like just a few minutes showed how unfocused I was while I drove.

I spotted her house in no time seeing as it was the third one on that street.

I sped through the half-opened gate which was wide enough to let my car through and packed in front of the one-storied white painted building and shut the ignition.

Climbing out, I noted how the crawling green flowers had become longer than the last time I was there as I came to pick Elvis up to go watch a football match.

The green color of the flowers gave a soft touch to the white building, same as the lilies, and sunflowers planted around the foot of the walls, courtesy of her Mom.

I glanced around and was surprised to see no other car was in sight which meant her parents and Elvis were out. It could have been a good or bad thing thus I wasn't sure if she was home.

"Here goes nothing," I voiced out and took a deep breath going to knock on the brown slightly metallic bulletproof door.

After some seconds without a response, I knocked again but still got no reply.

I got a bit worried this time and pounded hard on the metal. It seemed to get the attention of whoever was inside as I heard the pitter-patter of delicate footsteps.

"Who's that?" Her sweet melodious voice polled.

"It's Francis," I reacted in a grin.

Joanna's POV

"Hello, hello. Are you okay in there?" His voice called which made me snap out of whatever stupor I was in and gathered my limbs off the floor.

I took a deep breath after I had rationalized my emotions and instructed him to retrieve the key from below the foot match. He obliged and a few moments later I heard the locks jingling as he inserted the key.

Soon I listened to the click sound that indicated it got unlocked and this prompted me to snatch the door open to meet his dazzling smile that was directly in my eyesight.

"Hello, beautiful." He grinned, and this time, my heart didn't stop, instead, it dropped straight to my anus at that very moment.
